Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

His Royal Majesty

Dorian Ellington-Aragona

The King of Italy

He had anticipated, from the very moment he had seen Samantha within his parlour, that this would not be the easiest of conversations. It was truly as if that pair, whom had once been so very close, so hardly seemed to remember just how to interact with one another. That awkwardness decidedly thick and heavily laden like a fog within the air. Dorian was nothing if not polite, that very manner near ingrained within his very being after all and yet there was a certain aloofness to that politeness. A manner by which he so attempted to near shield himself from the woman before him and remove himself from those complex emotions that existed at merely the sight off her. How terribly he had missed her! Yet too, how very...raw those less than pleasant feelings were so inclined to be all at once. He was near loath to feel them. Dorian, but nature after all, far more prone to an often unshakable positivity and yet- Samantha's leaving, her veritable abandonment and too her dislike for his own husband in those weeks before she had fled had so culminated in a complex emotional puzzle of sorts. One the Monarch was near at a loss to navigate and one that seemed veritable thrown to the forefront of his mind with her apology.

How those very feelings assaulted him then! Dorian quote unsure which he desired to feel. So many of those emotions content to all but rush him at once. Some wholly potent in their desire to be felt, others merely fleeting in their embrace and yet that lingered all the same. He could hardly deny that a certain hurt still existed within him over her actions and yet too- nor could he deny his pleasure in seeing her again so alive and well. She had, after all, been the very first being he had met within this city. She had taken him in, cared for him, attempted to teach him about the world though she had left, and in very much the wrong way, he could hardly deny that her leaving too had taught him only more about the world and how better to navigate it. Her request for forgiveness was so hardly one he intended to deny her. Dorian simply not capable off withholding such a thing, even if he had desired too. The Fae King, by very nature, a truly forgiving being and indeed- he understood why she had left. He knew off the grief that had plagued her. After all, he could not even imagine a world in which his own lover did not exist. A life without Sebastian not one he even dared consider! Dorian offering her that soft assurance that, in the very least, he did not blame her for needing to leave, nor did he hold it agianst her in any sense. That very wetness that seemed to find her eyes hardly missed. The young woman attempting to explain once more as Dorian merely afforded her another soft smile, his head shaking softly as those gentle, accented words so parted his lips.

"It is alright, Samantha. I understand. There is little need to fret any more."

It would do little good, he was sure, for her to find herself worked up again. Such things were passed and though surely it would take time to rebuild that relationship between them he was so hardly opposed to her friendship- or more so- the return of it. The Monarch so seemed, at last, to have garnered at least some command over his own emotions in turn. That very distress he had felt seeming to have lessened as he continued then with that insistence that his friendship so surely need include his husband. Samantha insisting she had seen one of those many magazine covers Sebastian and himself had adorned in the lead up to that ceremony. Dorian unable to prevent that soft simper that danced upon his lips a the mention of the wedding before that soft sigh found him again.

"I tried to invite you but you had no address I knew. I can surely show you some photos though, if you should care to see them?"

It was, in the very least, some effort to include Samantha in that which she had missed. The photos Dorian and Sebastian themselves possessed, after all, superior to anything those magazines or newspapers had managed to publish. That reception having been an entirely private affair. Dorian offering her that chance to view them in the very least as she offered another apology. This time so readily insisting she had surely misjudged Sebastian and that, given the chance, she dearly wished to try again to at least find herself upon agreeable terms with the vampire. That ready tension within the Monarch's figure so seeming to ease all the more then in the wake of her words. Sebastian, after all, was the most significant being within his life. It was terribly important to him that his friends held no disdain for his very husband! The Monarch head nodding then.

"I am very happy, of that in the least I can assure you and I should love very much for you and Sebastian to find one another agreeable in the very least. I am sure he would not be opposed to meeting you again."

He offered softly, that warmth of sorts returning to his words and yet there still remained that final matter of that singular remaining change within his life and indeed perhaps the most significant where Samantha was concerned. His own....family. After all, he had believed he had no family at all the last time Samantha and he had spoken! The young woman surely as shocked as he himself have been to learn otherwise. That veritable squeak she seemed to make in response to his utterance that Aiden was nothing short of family perhaps giving away her own surprise. Samantha seeming to near stumble over her words then before asking after an explanation. Oh but where to start with that tale! Dorian so attempting t consider how best to begin that story when his own thoughts were interrupted once more by her assurance that if anything were true it was that she had surely missed him. Her arms opening gently, almost hesitantly then as she asked after that hug. Dorian's own features soften readily then.

"I missed you too."

He stepped forward then and into her embrace, his own arm wrapping around her to pull her gently agianst him and afford her that very hug she desired. That very gesture so melting away at that tension between them even more. It would take...time to repair that relationship and yet in the very least they had surely made a start upon it. Dorian gently releasing the young woman then before gesturing to that nearby chair with that clear intent for her to make herself comfortable. His own form crossed that room then to wander into the living room and select one of those photographs from the mantle piece that displayed those numerous pictures of Sebastian and himself on their wedding day, their honeymoon, their time in England and Italy and those other countries along with those family pictures of Matteo and Alexander, those pictures of the dogs and horses along with several of their friends. That particular photo Dorian had taken by far one of his own most favoured indeed- one of two taken on thanksgiving that year just passed.

The Monarch returned readily to that parlour then. Dorian pausing to hand Samantha that photograph before taking his own seat across from her. That picture so depicting himself on the left, Matteo in the middle and Aiden on the right. Matteo so depicted with his arms around the shoulders of his sons. The Frenchman appearing so bizarrely younger then Aiden himself and yet- such was the way of immortality. Their Father far, far older than either of them.

"It is a terribly long story, one I think we do not have time to tell in its entirety today but that photograph was taken at this thanksgiving just past. That man in the middle is Matteo, my Father, my real father and Aiden's as well. Aiden is my brother."

Dorian paused then, allowing Samantha to both examine that photography and too- understand those very words he was offering. After all, the last time they had spoken he and she in turn had both been under that impression that he had no family.

"I had known Matteo all my life but he had led me to believe he was merely a friend for all those years. I came to the discovery that he was my Father a year or so ago now. He is a decidedly curious being but I....adore having him in my life. I came to learn that during the time I was within my palace in italy, Matteo adopted a second child some twenty or so years ago- Aiden. I only found out about that a few months ago. It was quite a shock to all of us but it means a very great deal to me- to have a brother again. Aiden and I are very....different people but we have been getting on very well."
