Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

As we're walking away from her family portrait I can't help, but express my sympathy with the loss of her family. You know, I honestly can't phantom the very idea of witnessing your own family dying right in front of you. I mean I can understand the pain in the loss of a family though, especially one's parents. It's not really a topic I discuss and I have a feeling that it isn't the same for her. Ana was always gone, never around, so I guess maybe this tip to the museum was her way of...letting me in? I don't really know, but this is a pretty big secret to share with someone like me. I mean it's not like I'm going to go to the news media and proclaim that the late Grand Duchess of Russia was still alive after all this time! Oh, and the legendary Alexander the Great is alive too. What good would that do me? Not at all. So, whatever her reason for letting me in on the know is beyond me, but it was extremely, extremely nice of her. As we continue to walk and talk about the Dowager Empress Marie, I can't help but smile at the idea that she did have a nice ending.

"It's good that you were there for her in the end, and she went peacefully."

As a historical figure I am sure she must have seen the different movies or documentaries that went on about her life and what could have possibly happened. I mean there must be dozens and dozens. I'm not quite sure how I would feel about it. Annoyed or flattered? Who the heck knows, but I know for damn well sure that I'll never be that famous. When I mention the familiar cartoon with the white bat I noticed she stopped walking. That confused look on her face just made me grin like that insane Cheshire cat. She has no idea what I'm talking about...nooooo idea. With a whisper I cannot hide the excitement in my voice.

"You...you don't know? Oh my gosh...take me back home, now...uh please?"

Well, I had to use the word please. I mean I can't tell her what to do, it isn't my place. But she did drive us here and we do indeed need to get to my place to watch this movie. Exiting the museum, I follow in her steps to her car, happily getting into my seat and pulling the seatbelt over. This is exciting! I have to keep myself quiet though and no ruin what will be extremely glorious to observe Anastasia watching a cartoon all about her! As soon as we make it to my place I can't help, but open the door and leap out. Running up the stairs I throw the door open for the two of us and head on over to the living room. It was completely spotless, everything in its place. Grabbing the smart tv remote I turn on the TV and start searching on one of the streaming services, selecting the cartoon, and allowing it to play. Gesturing to the couch to my guest I head on over to the kitchen, shouting over my shoulder.

"All right so...you sit there...and watch while I get the popcorn."

Grabbing one of the packets of popcorn from the cupboard, I open the microwave and punch in the correct numbers and then the start button. Grabbing some plastic bowls from another cupboard I set it on the countertop and wait for the microwave to beep and alert me it's done. Opening the microwave door I grab the popped popcorn and open it up, and pour the contents into each bowl. Heading back into the living room to find Anastasia watching the cartoon, I eye the screen seeing that it's the part where Ana is escaping the orphanage.

"Believe it or not, Disney did not make this. And wait for it...the white bat is coming up soon!"
