Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

This train ain't bound for glory
and I don't want to go, no, no, no

Somehow, selfishly, Aidan knew that Mortimer wouldn't throw him on the street. He never had. Aidan had grown use to this sense of protection. Much like a child on his own, but knowing he'd always have a home to return to, should the world prove quite cruel. Whether it was because of their long history and relationship, or simply due to Aidan's charm and manipulation of loved one's feelings, things were different for Mort than they were for Cris. Sure, both had his love and loyalty, but there something more sacred between he and this man. Something he knew no one else could ever replace. And so part of him wants to verbally thank Mortimer, but he doesn't, for there was no need. A simple half smile of appreciation crosses his lips, whether Mort saw it or not.
It was there, and remained there even as he walked off into the kitchen. Aidan followed slowly, like a well-trained dog.

He stares at the Bible in his hand as he zig-zags his way behind. Somewhere between there and the kitchen, he starts to mumble, "You're prissy, and remind me of those Carpetbaggers after the Civil War, but I am glad to know you, Mortimer." He doesn't enter the kitchen. Instead, he leans against the wall opening, and still staring at that Bible, his right index traces the five letters on the cover intimately.

Part of him started to wonder why Mortimer wasn't asking any questions. That it was just said, sealed and done with. Perhaps it was that loyalty getting in the way for the both of them. It didn't matter what was wrong, just so long as there was a way to help each other. "Shit, I reckon I might have to make my dues somehow. Clean out your gutters, scrub your floors? All your neighborhood friends will be jealous you've got yourself a sexy Southern stallion helping you out. Might even wanna rent me out, too, make a few bucks on the side." He slams the Bible down on the counter and reaches into his front jean pocket and then his jacket, grabbing out his cigarettes and a lighter. With an unlit cancer stick in his lips, he continues to talk. "Just so you know, I ain't a cheap sporting gal. I'm top notch so don't just take whatever they give ya! I won't stand for that crap .. I'll go on strike."

He hardly pays attention to whatever Mort was doing. He'd forgotten they were in the kitchen for a second. He lights up his cigarette and part of him fearing Mortimer would come over and rip it out of his lips like some prune, so best get a little off before that happens.

He grabs the Bible, and with a serious tone, speaks, still just staring at it . "Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"" Then he's silent for a second, . "John 11:25-26." He looks at Mortimer with an expression of disgust, like the words were making him nauseous. "Very ... hypocritical for a vampire to even have this in his house. You God fearing now?" He holds it up by one cover and with one click of his lighter, Aidan puts the small flame to the Bible's thin pages, it begins to smoke and a spark starts. "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
