Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

She can feel the exhaustion tugging at the back of her mind, the simple act of playing the hostess the only thing keeping her on her feet during this encounter. She leads the tall man through her home, gesturing towards the kitchen as he introduces himself, Roman Royce. It had a nice ring to it, a name that rolled so easily off the tongue. Flushing red with embarrassment, she realized only a moment later that perhaps she should have given him her full name too, considering this was an interview she was conducting after all. It was too late, the woman far too worried she would embarrass herself further if she were to give him her full name. Sighing through her nose, she leads to the kitchen, offering tea or coffee. He's quick on the uptake, Miya thankful he had decided to go with the caffeine, her very tea hardly containing any caffeine at all and if she needed to physically interact with this man for the next... well, however long, she desperately needed the coffee.

She fiddles with the towel nervously for the briefest of moments before sliding it through the hook on the lower cabinet, Miya turning to open an upper cabinet and retrieving a ceramic container that contained her ground beans. She pulls it out, dutifully filling her reusable filter, filling the water, and turning on the pot. The gurgling of water breaking the silence only a moment later. Running petite fingers through her hair, she only manages to dislodge more stray hairs from her bun, Miya frowning slightly but hardly attempting to fix the mess as she turns back around. Bringing an arm behind her, she loops her fingers around her elbow as she stands there, Roman announcing he takes his coffee black. She nods in confirmation, an uncomfortable silence falling briefly before she tells him the room had been empty for awhile. More than three years to be exact.

He answers to her statement, Miya's fingers tapping along her elbow nervously, her chocolate gaze glancing at Roman's figure and back to the coffee pot. He breaks the silence with a light chuckle, Miya's gaze snapping back to him, as he explains that he had never rented a room before. Unclasping her hands, she brings them forward waving at him, "Uh no, no, don't apologize!" She says quickly, her cheeks heating again, "I'm sorry for being awkward," she winces at the admission, her small hands coming up and covering her face. God she was being an idiot, between the lack of sleep and having a man in her home, it was the worst combination for her current situation. Dropping her hands to her side, she sighs, "I had a roommate awhile ago, he met someone and moved out though. We were both struggling at the time so it was helpful to have someone help out with the rent," she explains, those pesky fingers finding the hem of her shirt as she fiddles with it again.

The beeper goes off on the coffee pot then, Miya relieved as she turns around, digging two mugs out of the cabinet and pouring them both. She turns and takes the few steps across the kitchen to set the mug in front of Roman, Miya offering him a polite smile before returning back to the coffee and snagging a creamer from the fridge. She adds the vanilla creamer, giving it a quick stir before licking off the spoon and setting it in the sink. Miya then turns and settles herself in the chair across from Roman, she small table almost intimate with his large frame. He's complimenting her apartment then, Miya blinking at him gratefully, "Thank you, I'm not home much so if we decide you're a good fit for the spare bedroom, you probably won't see me a ton," she tells him, "I work at the hospital downtown," she tacks on thoughtfully, bringing the mug to her lips and taking a sip.

"So Roman," she flushes at using his name, it always was uncomfortable using first names in her culture, the mere mention of them incredibly personal, "tell me about yourself. What do you do for work?" She asks, her cheeks pink as she brings the mug to her lips again, as if that would hide her embarrassment.
