Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

I will

rise up

in spite of the ache

While she might consider it a con, Henry saw it as a price to pay for his ex to be saved. There was no amount of money that would make him simply allow the warlock to suffer and die. Henry would have given his life if it were asked of him. A sum of money seemed hardly much for someone's life. So while she might consider him a sucker for so easily paying it, Henry was happy to. If that meant that Sterling would survive and go on to live a full and happy life, then it was the price he would pay. There would be no bartering, no questioning of the number, nothing but compliance.

Henry watched in silence as she worked, grinding the herbs and brewing the potion that would hopefully save his life. One hand held dearly to Sterling's, the other caressed his forehead lightly. It was a silent prayer that he prayed, that Sterling would at least hang on until the potion could be administered. He wasn't sure what his ex wanted to live for, but he could only hope that it was something good enough. He needed the man in his arms to hang in there for just a little longer. He needed Sterling to fight the poison.

When she handed him the larger vial, he took it. He listened to the instructions, nodding his head in understanding. He hated that he was going to make him so ill after, but he supposed it was a fair price for life. When she asked if he was ready, he took a deep breath and gave a subtle nod. "Ready." He was terrified in reality. He could only hope this worked. Otherwise, it would have been an expensive price to pay for her to kill him faster.

On the count of three, he readied the vial at Sterling's lips, propping his head up just slightly so he might swallow the potion without choking on it. And on three, he slowly poured the black contents into Sterling's mouth. He couldn't imagine it tasted very pleasant and so he gently closed the warlock's lips and whispered into his ear. "Swallow it...it will help you..." He wasn't sure if Sterling was conscious enough to understand what he was asking, but he felt better at least trying to explain things to him. And then, Henry pulled him to rest on his shoulder, holding him in his arms and waiting. Waiting for him to somehow begin to breath more steadily. Waiting for him to die. He wasn't sure which would happen. But no matter what happened, he would be wrapped in Henry's arms when it happened.
