Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

living like we're renegades

long live the pioneers
rebels and mutineers

He was hard to read as she opened the door, a fact that she was beginning to find was always associated with the self-assured man. Part of her wanted to pout, upset that she didn't get to see the surprise he had expected her to show mirrored on his own face, but life wasn't always fair after all. His entrance into her home was nonchalant but she felt their entire meeting would be full of unspoken meanings and challenges conquered without a word. Every meeting with him was a dance of sorts she was quickly learning, words that were carefully chosen and delicately placed; she might be the predator in the room but he definitely didn't strike her as prey.

She simply watched him in a few moments of pleased silence, save for the music that filtered in still from her bedroom, as he took in her rather homely living quarters. It was meager, sure, but it suited her just fine and she was rather pleased with what she had done with the bare brick walls and scuffed wood floors. Her words barely seem to register with him until she mentions needing to get to the bar for her shift before too long. At that she can feel more than actually see his violet eyes focusing back on her with their almost heated intensity. She shifted his gaze, cocking one hip out of sheer comfortable habit before tucking a stray strand of golden blonde hair back behind her ear. She felt herself exhale a little when he finally spoke, unaware the she had been holding anything in as his crisp words filled the room. He set her a bit off edge and she didn't like it.

The smile on her pink glossed lips widened as he finally put forward the proposition he had hinted at during their impromptu breakfast weeks before, but pleasure turned to surprise as he calmly rattled off the name of her new boss. Both eyebrows raised abruptly in her disbelief, lips parting slightly until she caught herself and regained her composure, upset that she had let him see her taken off guard even for a moment. She didn't know how he knew so much about her, but it added to the list of things that made her slightly uneasy around him. Luckily he was offering to pay her for one of her more natural talents which was about all that kept him in her good graces. Instead she merely shrugged to brush off her surprise, "You've certainly got your fingers in a lot of pies," she mused quietly, more to herself than anything though no doubt he would hear her.

At her words Grayson finally chose to extract himself from his perch atop the worn armchair, leaping to the floor before gradually winding his way toward and finally around Frost's legs. Carolina watched his brazen show of affection to a perfect stranger with a mere shake of her head, though the tabby was never one to be picky about whom he loved, probably why he had stayed her as long as he had. Hopefully Frost wasn't afraid of cats. Her brilliant hazel eyes flicked back to Frost's veiled face to see his reaction just as he stated what exactly he was looking for complete with a sketched image of the target piece. Surprisingly he then fished a purportedly similar amulet from beneath his own shirt so that it swung before him on its silver chain.

He was still speaking, asking what she would ask in return for his proffered job when she stepped toward him and the medallion, curiosity alight in her eyes. Her steps were silent and she moved with more quickness than a normal human ought to, something she normally kept in check but it wasn't something to be worried about in the presence of another shifter, until she was directly before him, perhaps even a bit uncomfortably close. Long, delicate features reached out brazenly to touch the talisman, brushing across the exquisitely carved silver equine which was warm from being pressed against his skin. Her skin brushed the side of Frost's own fingers and she pulled her hand back suddenly as if she had been shocked by the contact, and she had been a bit surprised by the warmth of it despite his name. Instantly she reached for the sketch he had supplied to cover up her reaction, extracting it quickly and with ease before backing up a few steps to study it.

After a moment her hazel eyes turned back toward him, narrowing slightly as she tried to get a better grasp on what, exactly, his angle was. He hadn't offered a lot of information on what would be involved in this heist, and he was someone who seemed to be more than a little informed about everything that went on where he was concerned. Still an extra payday couldn't hurt, even with her new income there were always bills to pay. Squaring herself up with him her back straightened, "I can't make any guarantees, going off of such meager information but I'll take the job," she said finally, her words crisp and strong. "I want you guarantee of a favor that you will owe me at a future time to be determined and an hourly fee for the time I take setting up the lift, no doubt you have ways of validating weather I was working when I say I was." It was a hefty price, but she wasn't quite done yet, silently she steps confidently back toward him again, "If I succeed then I want a thousand dollars cash before I hand it over."

Rocking back on her heels she waited for his response to her possibly rather hefty price, more eager to simply gauge his response than anything else as Grayson offered a shrill meow as if in echo of her purposed payment. "Now, where do I start looking? I'm sure you have an idea of where it might be." She could spend days trying to pin down possibly location so of the amulet, but it would save her time and him money to at least point her in the right direction.
