Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

If the man beside her had been an empath like herself, Samantha was sure that he would have certainly felt the despair that seemed to have taken the girl by storm. The realization of what she had done to Aiden felt like waves that threatened to drown her. The girl put her head in her hands, taking deep breaths as she struggled to find words that would somehow lessen the horrors of what she had done. She had affected him, made him feel things that he hadn't felt on his own. She had taken away his right to consent. Taken away his right to say no. It made her feel... it was slimy. It was awful. It was the worst possible thing that she could have done. It was that that had made the girl shrink away from the man in the moments that she would have much rather curled against his side and enjoyed the feelings she certainly felt towards him. But no, the fondness of their first sexual encounter was ruined by the realization that it hadn't been his wish at all. How much had she affected him? Had he consented to any of it of his own free will? Where had the decision been her influence and not his own?

The words he offered her gave her no comfort either, not when they were voiced in that same monotone voice that he used with her. She believed that he knew she didn't mean to do so, but that didn't change anything. That didn't mean it was okay. But she hadn't realized it, hadn't even known she could. She kept her back to the man as she sat up, rubbing her hands over her face in an attempt to wipe away the memories of what had just happened between them. She couldn't look at him right now, couldn't face the realization that she had taken away his own free will in a moment so crucial to their relationship. She expected him to run, to push her away, to never see her again. She wouldn't have blamed him if he had. But she hardly expected him to reach out, pulling her body down and against him once more. "Aiden I..." She began, her face turning into his chest as she cut herself off, having no real words to offer him. His voiced reassurance that it was okay helped only slightly, his whispered tone one that he usually reserved only for her. There was still that big of him that used that gentleness on her. Perhaps it might be okay, eventually.

The empath let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding as he leaned forward, brushing his lips so gently against hers. It was that motion â€" one that she was sure was entirely consensual â€" that finally relaxed her, her fingers reaching up to stroke his hair out of his face, her fingertips landing on his cheek as they broke the kiss. Samantha couldn't help but stroke the skin of his jaw, the gentle touch seeking to reassure him that she was here, that she cared, that she hadn't meant to. But he knew that, didn't he? He had told her he knew; told her it was going to be okay. He had to have known she wasn't the type of person to do this. She wasn't vile or malicious. She was just a girl who wanted her boyfriend. Right?

It took several minutes of laying next to him to slow her heart rate to a normal state. And even then, she wasn't entirely sure that she felt as though things were okay. But it was enough that she finally reached out, pushing his hair back. "I have something for you," She whispered before she stood, going to the side of the room where her purse had been discarded. She knelt down, digging through the pocket before she found what she wanted, moving to close the distance between them once again. It was only when she had settled against his side did she place the black watch band on his chest. In her nervousness, she couldn't help but nibble on her lower lip, waiting for a reaction from him. "R... Raven mentioned that you had this watch... and you stopped wearing it because the strap broke... I... I got you this one... so that you could wear it again. And um... think of me while you did..."
