Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

I try not to stare too much at the redhead, knowing my own fear is surely stinking up the room. I've never met a vampire before but the stories I heard were never good ones, especially when it came to the younger ones. They called them out of control, the most blood thirsty of the race. I don't sense any kind of ill intentions from Isolt but how do I know she's not good at putting up a mask? I can see that Raven trusts her and since I trust Raven, I want to extend that as well but I fear that time alone is the only thing that can help me come to terms with the fact that she won't hurt me or my friend.

When Raven speaks to her, Isolt offers back a simper but I can tell it's only half hearted. She looks exhausted, but that could just be the way they look all the time. After all, aren't they undead? I try to keep my thoughts to myself as I stare at the fire once more. I look up only when Isolt asks a question about where she is to sleep. I glance at Raven, trying not to look fearful because I know that Raven will be as welcoming as she can. She cuts her off first by assuring her that she's not imposing. My lips twitch toward a smile but I look back at the fire, wanting to let Raven continue without constant eyes on her. When Raven suddenly closes her book and gets up though, I can't help but look back at her with a raised brow and questions in my eyes. As she smiles and steps toward Isolt before turning to me, I immediately tense up.

At her words, I can't help but swallow in uncertainty. I know that she likes to spend a lot of time with Tobias at the warehouse. It's been like that ever since I moved in and I never mind, though the house is quite big and lonely when she's gone. The thought of sharing that loneliness with Isolt is both frightening and exciting. I listen as she tries to flatter me with my skill of stealth though I only manage a small smile. Knowing she might want an answer of some sort, I allow my head to nod in response to let her know that I'll try, my eyes brighter as I try to offer reassurance. I know this is what Raven wants and I don't want to be the stubborn one who refuses to branch out.

As she climbs the stairs, I watch silently until both disappear then I return to looking into the fire, a soft sigh dripping from my lips as I curl my legs up to my chest and hug them, wondering what the next day will bring. I stay that way, just staring into the flames, until I hear someone coming back down. Holding my breath, I exhale slowly when I see it is just Raven. I offer her a smile, sure that she will go back to her book as I turn back to the fire, content to watch it a few hours more before I go to sleep.
