South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Abigail Hughes

Abby was used to not being understood. She was used to her words being altogether ignored, not that she blamed anyone in the slightest or took any sort of offense from it. After all, it was hardly their fault that they didn't understand her chirps and squeaks for what they were. She was used to simply replying what was asked of her, even if it restricted her communication to those facial features she was capable of producing. After all, Arlo had never had any sort of difficulty being her best friend and he couldn't understand a single word she said! The point, however, was that Abigail was certainly not used to any individuals actually utilizing her real name, those three syllables upon her newfound friend's lips made the little panda freeze, the woman quite near staring at the fae that settled across her. There was no way that was a coincidence...right? Right?! She stared quite intently at the woman, as if that look alone would be enough to tell her...well...something. "You....you can...." She started, her voice trailing off with a hint of uncertainty that soon turned into an overall excitement. "YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ME?!" That high pitched squeak left her lips, the sound the closest she could make to that more girlish squeal she certainly wanted to. "REALLY?! Oh my god! This is so exciting! No one has ever understood me before! Oh my god. This definitely makes us friends! It's like...it's like FATE." Okay, maybe she was being a little over dramatic. Then again, she hadn't paused to consider that her newfound friend could understand all animals, or even all weres!

In fact, it wasn't until Illy went on to speak of the birds that she began to contemplate the possibility that maybe their friendship wasn't so destined. Maybe this woman just....was like...inclined to animals or something? But what she was sure of was that she definitely understood her, after all, NO WAY any one would have guessed Abigail! Her head bobbed with some measure of excitement at the mention of this crow friend - after all, friends of her friends were her friends too, right? That was how it worked right? "I'd love to meet Mr. Crow!" She declared, that barking yip entirely enthusiastic. She was hardly surprised, truly, by that question that quite abruptly met her new friends lips - after all, even Arlo didn't know what she was the first time he met her! She could hardly help her own giggle, that laughter quite near infectious. "Well, I'm not just any panda. Regular pandas are black and white. I'm a red panda. It's kinda funny really because we're almost nothing alike regular pandas...except for the bamboo bits...but they don't have bamboo around here...." Her voice trailed off in consideration. She'd taken to eating only the fruits she was capable of getting her hands on, those shoots she preferred were quite illusive within the city. It was quite disappointing.

She watched quite keenly as her newfound friend picked up the contents of her bag, spilling out those rather delectable looking treats that quite near made the girl lick her lips - at least, until those shiny baubles caught her eyes. Her nose wrinkled, sniffing as she rose from her haunches to take a tentative step forward towards those curiosities. She knew what they were, of course. She'd seen bracelets and rings before but everyone in her town was too poor to have such pretty stones. She was only half listening to Illy's reassurance that she surely would like the treats she brought, as long as she shared nicely (well - duh!). In fact, her attention only shifted upwards at that mention of spaghetti. "I like spaghetti! It's really really good but we didn't eat it very often because there wasn't much pasta where I grew up. We ate a lot of rice....but it was good too." She chattered on all the same of her own childhood, those Indian foods were more familiar to her. That prospect of lamb, however, quickly prompted the young woman to jump from one topic to another. "ME TOO. Let's go get some together! We gotta find a place that has it...do you know anywhere??"

Her hazel eyes turned from the woman back towards those shiny pieces of jewelry, watching quite intrigued as Illy gathered them up. "They're very pretty." She commented with a hint of awe, even if she knew well they were not hers to take. Her head tilted slowly to the side as she listened to Illy's comment as to where she found them. Her nose twitched again, the smell of that fruit capturing her attention all over again. Slowly, she waddled towards that little bag of cut up fruit. She lightly nosed it before glancing up at her friend, noting the peculiar shape of those pointed ears. "Oh! I like your ears! They're super cute! I wish mine looked like yours." A small pout crossed her lips before her hazel gaze fell back towards that fruit. "Can we open this one first?" She request, certainly not about to help herself. She had manners, after all!!
