The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation
The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Beachside Bar & Bistro
Resting right on the beach near the small, locally owned shops and markets sits a bar and bistro with an elegant yet modern interior. There is seating both indoors and outdoors on the back patio where one can enjoy the melodic sounds of saltwater waves and fresh air. The menu consists of French dishes alongside American and Seafood choices and a wide range of liquors at the bar inside to accommodate the varied tastes and cravings of its customers. It is a charming little establishment that allows for those needing a break from the busy city streets to come and unwind.
Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.
Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

That retort upon the woman's lips was hardly unanticipated. Azrael's own eyes rolling lightly as she all but attempted to strangle the life out of the falsified gun, her hands in a veritable death grip around the handle as if the damn thing was going to attempt some sort of wild escape. Azrael having come to expect that grumbled exasperation. Hell, a part of him found it cute really. Not that he saw any need to inform the woman of that as he stepped forward to reposition her hands and point towards that 'x' carved into the tree ahead of her. Serafina at last seeming to actually focus on the damn target instead of pelting him with those foam bullets every time he turned around. The witch herself suddenly turned towards him then with that gun pointed innocently at him. The question on her lips halted as Azrael's own arms were thrown upward. Fucking hell. It was as if she'd learned nothing in the past hour! Had that been a real gun he might have damn well just lost his head. Did anyone take gun safety seriously anymore? It was almost as if Serafina enjoyed defying basic gun protocol. His insistence she had probably just blown his head off and sent it rolling down the hill perhaps a little more.....enthusiastically graphic then it needed to be and yet he was damn well sure it got the point across. His efforts were met with Serafina's own rolled eyes as she accentuated each word as if he was the one being dramatic here. His features shifting into a near dubious look that displayed how distinctly unimpressed he was with her own efforts.
"Well you murdered me...."
It was little more than a mutter beneath his breath all the same as the Hunter shifted to take up that new stance, his arms effortlessly wrapping about Serafina's slender, feminine figure. The very warmth of her decidedly....appealing. The feel of her back pressed against his chest equally tempting even if here and now was hardly the time or place for those far more intriguing thoughts that turned at the forefront of his mind. His fingers easily enclosed her own, guiding them to that right position in turn as his head rested on her shoulder. Those whispered instructions prompting yet another roll of the woman's eyes, as if his efforts to save her life one day through armed combat training were somehow ridiculous. She'd fucking thank him one day he was sure. Azrael refusing to relent in his efforts as Serafina finally took aim and his hands slid down to rest upon her waist. That promise of buying dinner seeming to prompt some measure of attention in the young woman. His girlfriend, for once, actually seeming to take those words to heart as she focused- that fired shot colliding near perfectly with the center of the 'x' as a ready grin found the woman's lips in turn. Good. She could do it- when she damn well tried. Serafina readily lining up for that second shot now.
It was all to easy, really, to allow his lips to press to her neck in those teasing kisses. Azrael content to work his way upward as his golden gaze flickered briefly to watch her hands fumble and reach for him in turn. He knew, already, that shot was hardly going to be as good as the first. His own ardent efforts prompting that bullet to go wide. A final, teasing kiss pressed to the soft and tempting flesh off her neck before he lent away with that ready insistence she'd succumbed to distraction. Azrael disappearing readily as Serafina turned to face him. Her hand settling on her hip then with that retort she was entirely sure whoever she was shooting wasn't going to be kissing her. Azrael's own shoulders shrugging once more.
"What if it's an Incubus? I've heard stories of them from the others. That might try to kiss you. Unholy vampire sexing bastard or whatever the hell it is they are. I was just making sure you were prepared."
That rare glimpse of a simper managed to find his lips all the same. Azrael so seemingly in an unusually good mood. The Hunter stepping forward then to take that Nerf gun from the young woman before reaching to offer her a foam sword instead with that insistence they practice that hand-to-hand combat she might one day find herself needing to use if her powers were, for any reason, inaccessible. If Hunters trained to fight without their affinities there was no reason a Witch couldn't as well. Serafina hardly appearing enthusiastic about it in any sense as she caught that sword and Azrael moved to shuffle some of that other equipment aside to make a clear space. Another idea of sorts already toying at him mind. One he'd been....considering for awhile now. Even if he wasn't exactly sure how to go about it. He didn't.....do holidays. Ever. He had enough damn leave saved up to take nearly a year off. More- if the Council didn't force him to take several days off in a row every christmas. Maybe for once he could actually use some of that leave and take Sera.....somewhere. Maybe even to something fancy- the way she liked. He'd been all around the world after all, even if only for work, but had she? Couples did this sort of thing right? Why couldn't they?
That nearly dubious look he was afforded as she questioned that holiday held about as much confidence as he damn well felt in the idea. Maybe neither of them were good at this. Azrael simply nodding as he turned to face Serafina once more then, crossing that space to stand back before her with his own foam sword in hand. That insistence he needed to use up the money on that infamous black card, money he was willing to let her spend on shopping, readily seeming to ensnare her attention all the faster. One goldeneye rising upward at her sudden enthusiasm. Women. That insistence of where he had in mind though prompted that thoughtfulness to his own features, one hand lifting to run through the blond of his hair.
"Well- where haven't you been before? I've been to a lot of places but only for work. I never really stopped to look around any of the cities. If you want to go shopping we probably want somewhere like France. Paris is a shit show this time of year though, so bloody crowded and with those riots going on its probably better to avoid that. England is nothing but rain. Italy is a tourist jam. I damn well refuse to go back to Scotland- bloody skirt-wearing fools can't understand a damn thing they are saying. The women I work with say Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai are shopping havens. They don't get any snow either, its warm there. How about one of those? Dubai is pretty high class if you want to go five star the whole way."
It wasn't as if he spent his money on anything else, why not this? Shopping malls weren't exactly his thing and yet if they made Sera happy then what the hell did it matter? He could easily follow her around one of those mega malls for a day....or three. The Hunter considering for the first time that he had no real idea what he was supposed to....do on a holiday. Maybe he'd work it out while he was there and Serafina was exercising his credit card. Azrael lifting that sword then as Sera further considered those places she might want to go.
"One hand here, one hand there, feet apart. You want to put your shoulder into it everytime time you swing and follow through with the rest of your body. Stay on your toes. I won't use any of my speed alright? Come at me when your ready. You've got a passport and stuff right?"
He stepped back almost effortlessly to avoid the first swing of Sera's sword. The Hunter content to keep up that conversation during that spar. Azrael content to use his own sword to redirect the majority of Sera's own efforts, two of them managing to slip past him before Azrael suddenly pressed back, the Hunter attempting to knock Sera's own sword aside before swinging lightly at her middle. His girlfriend still appearing distracted all the same. Maybe he should have told her about the holiday when they were finished training- when shopping was less of a distraction.
"Sera, if I beat you at this, your going to have to wear that witches outfit to bed tonight."
