South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

I know that even with my abnormally strong bite, I still don't stand a chance against the bear. But maybe I can distract her enough to get away with the advantages I do have like speed and agility. I'm ready to face off against the angry bear alone when I hear a soft huff noise somewhere up in the trees. Instantly more alert, my ears flicker though I'm loathe to take my eyes away from the charging bear. What is up there? Could it be another bear? Her cubs, perhaps? It doesn't take me long to find out. Suddenly a black shape falls from the trees, or rather, launches, landing on the bear's back. My eyes snap up as the bear stops to bring her front legs up, reaching for the creature on her back to dislodge and break.

The panther. Of course, it is. I scowl, slighlty disgruntled that he would be here. I can't believe it's coincidence so does that mean he's been following me? Why else would he be away from that big boat he seemed so fond of? My ears flatten to my skull, my tail flicking over my back in growing irritation. The bear roars and right as she's about to grab him, the panther dislodges himself and leaps from her back, landing on his feet not far from me. I catch his gaze and give him an accusing glare of my own, just for spite. That's right, I'm onto you, bud. But right now we have bigger things to worry about so I turn m ygaze back to the bear. As she twists toward him, I lunge, slapping my dull claws at her front leg cause I know the damage I can do. Against all odds of nature, deep gashes appear in the bear's leg and she roars in pain as she lifts her leg, blood already starting to trickle down her paw as she spins back toward me.

I hadn't planned on letting the panther know my ability but I guess our survival depends on us working together, at least for now. I figure my best bet is to ignore him, focusing instead on the bear who swipes her wounded leg toward me, long sharp claws just aching for some blood of her own. I leap over the paw and lunge quickly, my teeth catching the back of her paw as it swings away. My teeth dig in and blood starts to run but at the same time, she drags me across the land closer toward her. I release her paw but I'm already too close, her open mouth lunging down at me like I'm the best snack. I jump back just in time to avoid the teeth but she snaps her head up, successfully head butting me and sending me rolling with a yelp. That's gonna bruise.

I get up slowly and painfully but either way, I'm not sitting this one out. My side is throbbing and I may have a fractured rib or two. While I may have more strength than I should, I don't have the body to go with it. I'm still a small and very breakable animal. Clenching my jaw, I glance up as the bear charges toward me, wondering for the first time if the panther really is going to help or just watch me fail.
