East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Honestly she seemed a little nervous, or at least apprehensive- as if she was worried I might lunge at her or something. I suppose it is a logical fear, from her point of view. Realistically I don't think I've ever lunged at anyone in my life let alone attempted to stake them with anything. Whatever urge Hunters are supposed to have to want to kill things, well, for some reason or another, it seems to have skipped me entirely. Kat seemed entirely convinced it would simply come one day and yet truly I was rather content with it failing to exist at all. If only I could convince those around me of such lacking desires. For her part, at least, the woman seemed determined to continue to be polite, the blue gold of my gaze resting against her own, allowing the tiniest flare of my own power to drift around her- merely making her a little more inclined to want to be near me. Not too much of course, that would be....cheating and I tend to lose control of anything beyond a mere touch. Even despite her rather attractive appearance I hardly desired for her to start removing her clothing here and now as tended to be the result of my power in full force. I simply wanted her to relax a little.

"It's a guessing game."

I grinned easily towards her, offering her the truth of it all the same. After all, such a game hardly required any actual skill on her part. My other power already having assured she would lose the game all the same. It was....underhanded I suppose, this the very reason I was banned from no less than 9 different casinos. Card counting was one thing, actually manipulating the cards as I did another (though equally frowned on) and yet honestly, it was an otherwise rather useless power. Unless I could bet my life on a game of poker I was yet to see how it was going to save me. Her question in regards to whether or not she could leave after dinner saw both eyes lift ever so slightly in surprise. What on earth did she think I wanted to do with her? Kidnap her? I allowed another smile to touch my features all the same, regarding her easily.

"Yes, you're more than welcome to leave whenever you want."

I assured her simply, the words more than true. Kidnapping women wasn't exactly my style. Her assurance that she was willing enough to play saw one eye lift in pleasure once more, gesturing to the two cards, face down, that rested before me. One was the ace of spades, the other merely a random card. It was a distinctly easy game after all, though one that was impossible for her to win unless I decided to let her. Though really that would destroy the very point of the game wouldn't it?

"All you have to do is pick the ace, if you do, then I will leave you entirely in peace for the evening. If you don't, then you have to spend some time with me as we agreed, go ahead."

I simply waited for the slender young woman to make her choice, already knowing it would be wrong, flipping the card she selected over to reveal the five of hearts, gaze lifting to her own once more with a languid ease.

"What do you like to eat then?"

I chuckled softly, easily, gaze held upon her expectantly before a frown of sorts touched my features.

"You do....eat don't you?"

I had no idea as to what species she actually was, if any, yet another of my Hunter senses that simply didn't seem to work for whatever reason. I knew she was supernatural but what she was I had no idea. I suppose I should have considered that at some point.
