East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

The Dark Hunter's sea colored gaze remained entirely trained on the trinket within his hand, a number of peculiar odds and ins sprawled out on the table before him. The articles themselves were near archaic in age, older than even the Macedonian King himself. And yet, despite that age, the article within his fingertips near glistened as he so diligently sanded out those kinks and bumps that had marred it when he had first picked it up. The greenish hue of the chlorite effortlessly picked up the flickering flames from the nearby hearth, the light so coloring the stone circle that bright, breathtaking color. Alexander tilted his head to the side, pausing to inspect the item as the sound of feet upon the stairs so momentarily distracted the man from his task. A small frown so marred the Hunter's lips as his irises remained trained upon that door that separated his own private apartment from the cafe below. He hadn't been expecting anyone tonight and yet, the act in and of itself was hardly peculiar, he supposed, not with both Anastasia and Alexis reappearing within his life. Still, he hadn't anticipated seeing the Duchess again so soon, her figure within the opened door way caused the slightest of frowns to cross his lips. Still, he motioned her in, his brightly hued gaze momentarily looking past her in an entirely judgemental fashion to the man that she'd brought with her.

He remained silent, for the moment, simply watching the woman as she so faltered in those trained patterns of speech. That aspect alone caused an undeniable hint of inquisitiveness within him. Still - he remained patient as her words so shifted to her native tongue. "Pochemu oni khotyat yego?" (Why would they want him?) He inquired, his eyebrows furrowing ever so slightly as his gaze turned fully with a notable intensity towards the man standing within his living room. He hardly anticipated the introduction he was so presented with and yet, whatever interest had so crossed filled those depthless eyes somehow nearly immediately vanishing at those three simple words. His gaze fluttered back towards that emerald bracelet, putting down that sandpaper to instead pluck from the objects in front of him a rag and polish. "Am I supposed to be impressed?" Alexander inquired briefly, his indifference entirely notable within the depths of his baritone lyrics. "I never understood the fear Jack the Ripper brought. You killed what - ten people? And God Forbid - all of fucking London was so up in arms about ten people." The Dark Hunter could hardly help the fashion at which his eyes rolled, all the while working at that smooth stone bracelet.

"Zachem ty privela yego syuda, Anastasiya? He is no more than a man with a blade. Vy ubili boleye yego v vashey professional'noy podgotovki v odinochku." (Why did you bring him here, Anastasia? He is no more than a mere man with a blade. You've killed more than him in your mere training alone.) A soft scoff left the Hunter's lips before he placed the rag down in front of him, handing the young woman that emerald bracelet he had so diligently tasked himself to for hours prior. "It is from the Denisovans. I found it when I was in Siberia." He uttered as a way of explanation, so gifting the emerald bracelet to the young woman without even a word of explanation further. It was unnecessary to comment on how the green hue so accented her auburn hair or the value of such an extremely old piece. Still - it was a far better distraction than so dwelling upon the murder in his apartment, one that he was entirely content to return to simply ignoring.
