East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

for the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey
her speech is smoother than oil
but in the end she is bitter as wormwood
sharp as a two-edged sword
her feet go down to death
her steps follow the path to Sheol

- PROVERBS 5:3-5;;
It was appealing to the young witch, this prospect of a chase with the young man beside her. Although she wouldn't admit it out loud, she surely enjoyed this sport they were so close to partaking in. Serafina had to admit that the appeal for the man was there, there was a certain enigma about him and though Serafina certainly wouldn't say she was ready to crawl into his bed, she was, at least, inquisitive of what this future date between them might hold. "Perhaps." She commented with a witty grin, enjoying the simple prospect that her unyielding sarcasm was, somehow, appreciated. It was a part of her that her mentor was constantly trying to squash and one she was sure was lost entirely upon her werewolf familiar. In this, Serafina was undaunted, freely speaking her mind, even if some might have been taken aback by her sometimes brash nature. He wouldn't though, of that she was certain and her suspicions were quickly affirmed with a snort in merriment. Oh yes, the little witch could sometimes divine quite the truth, couldn't she?

Despite her enjoyment within his company and the placidity that he provided her with, the raven haired kitten found herself falling silent as she listened to her incubus' judgement of the death dealers that so very often hunted their kind. "I am sure they think the same of us." She returned softly, her soprano lyrics hardly louder then a whisper. It was truth that many of the ones she'd met seemed intent upon her destruction but Sera could see between those rough exteriors. "Sometimes...I think we both forget that we're all, to some extent, mortal. There's a story behind us all, and frankly, I think they are the parts that make us interesting." She paused for a moment, her stormy gaze glancing up at the male at her side. "I bet you have quite the interesting story too...behind all that gentleness." She was teasing him again and she knew it, hoping that he wouldn't take offense to it. She certainly didn't mean it in such a way. In fact, she found that underlying softness endearing. Perhaps if there was a teddy bear behind his killer mask, then there was something equally as angelic behind hers.

Her attention turned from the perhaps peculiar conversation between the two, her attention shifting to the crowded streets and high scale establishments. She was hardly surprised that, now that night had settled, downtown had begun to light up, filled with the vibrance of human life. She complied with his repositioning, allowing herself to drape around his figure in whatever fashion he desired. Despite her attention precariously settled on the man beside her, Serafina's gaze drifted between the individual's that surrounded her. His lyrics brought a warm simper to her feminine features, laced with a certain sort of malicious wickedness. It was true that this too had not been the first death her potions might cause but this one was the first one that she was being given the opportunity to see up close. This would be the first real brush with death caused by her own hand.

She hesitated besides him, her gaze shifting over the crowd surrounding them. Despite her rather decent attire, she was certainly under dressed in the crowd that surrounded them. Her head tilted upwards ever so slightly, a small sense of determination filling the young girl. She certainly wouldn't be looked down upon because she didn't have fancy heels and long evening dresses. The movement of his arm around her waist certainly captured her attention from her brooding thoughts, her figure pressing up against his as they approached the hostess. Her gaze shifted from the man beside her to the hostess in front of them, observing the dialogue with a vague sense of curiosity. Clearly they had planned this all to the T and briefly she couldn't help but to wonder what he would have done had she decided not to fulfill his order.

Serafina effortlessly moved forward to follow the girl, feeling the sensation of his fingertips on her back. Briefly, her gaze shifted backwards towards him, a simple enticing look given in his direction before her interest returned to the game at hand, a game that was only just about to begin. Davante. The single word resonated within her mind, so that was his name. Davante from Africa. My, this was going to be quite a revealing dinner after all, wasn't it? With all the grace the young girl could muster, she slid into the seat offered her, remaining silent as was often desired of her fair gender whilst "the men spoke". The whole notion was ridiculous enough but really, she certainly wasn't here for the chatter. Her gaze met the vibrant crystalline gaze of her companion as he nonchalantly threw their words back at them. Her gaze turned towards the table, offering them her best sincerely entrancing simper, "It's a pleasure to meet you." She intoned in the same fashion her mentor had taught her to years and years prior. See, Serafina was capable of being the perfect little princess when it suited her!
