East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

we stopped checking for monsters under our beds,

when we realized they were inside of us all along.

A lion, made for a pack, made for ruling packs and yet the viking preferred his own solitude over the presence of others. Roaming the blackness that was night and drifting in and out of shadows during the day. he was more of a wraith than anything and it made sense to deem him of such a thing for he took pride in the souls he had captured in his years. Aside from the side effects of the headaches and fits, he was proud in being deemed the demon lion of below. His glacier gaze leaving imprints in dreams and turning them into nightmares. He had never felt the need to have a pack of his own or possess anything, quite the opposite of any normal lion's needs.

Until now.

He turns once more to face her, eyes gleaming as his gaze slides along her feline frame, her dark bodice almost more enticing than the leather suit. Ears flick back, hidden within his mane as his only greeting is a mere growl in response. He turns from her, drifting off into the night in an easy lope and taking note of the way she follows with such an ease and powerful grace. Every so often his gaze flicks to her, mind far too clear, those voices far too quiet. It all seems suspicious to him. But it is her dark presence beside him that seems to soothe.

He can feel the earth under his massive paws, talons digging into its face and making wreckless marks. He could care less about what the humans find. He fears nothing from them, or anyone else for that matter. How long he ran, is unknown. Where he was headed, also unknown. But it is the night sky and the heat from the one beside him mixing with the cool winds of the sky that cause him to revitalize after those last five fits. A different type of healing than when he heads to the tavern to get what he seeks.

The lion slows, not stopping but allowing himself a moment to inhale the foreign aroma that enters his nares. His muscles thicken, they are not alone.
