East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Raven Cain

It was a bit surreal that in just a few short months she would be delivering her first child. Truly the whole pregnancy was a complete whirlwind. Luckily everyone seemed supportive and positive in this new milestone event in their lives. Raven appreciated the help where ever she got it. One thing that still bothered her was her husbands' other half not making an appearance. She wanted that conversation between them. When they were at the mall to get their engagement photos taken, they briefly discussed the idea of having children of their own, both sharing the same concerns...how he wouldn't be so helpful. He did not want her to suffer and feel as if giving him a child would be a burden. Raven wanted to take a moment to reassure him before their bundle of joy would enter the world, and in a way, to hear him reassure her as well. This would be difficult, in more ways than one. The young woman knew she could rely on the pack for assistance, but it would be quite a while until they were all living under roof again. Single Mothers were capable of raising a child on their own. But once, just once, she wanted to hear him tell her everything will be okay. Because what if this was a terrible decision?

What wasn't a terrible decision was having Mira accompany her to these pregnancy classes. Doctor Sanchez strongly encouraged Raven to attend this program, because it was meant for Were-creatures. Although Doctor Sanchez recommended, she bring someone else to these classes, because Tobias was...well...Tobias, and she needed to take the time to focus on their expecting cub. The purpose of the class was to learn, and she would not be acquiring any new knowledge if she was being distracted by her mate. Most of the couples in class were the same species which wasn't surprising. Weres that didn't belong to the same sub-species had a lower chance of getting pregnant. So, after explaining to the class that Mira wasn't her mate, and saying Tobias was an Amur Leopard, everyone seemed astonished. Spending time with Mira was quite nice, she enjoyed these moments together. It was a bit awkward at first, doing the breathing exercises or having Mira touch certain areas to massage any pain points Raven experienced. But after class, they usually got to hang out and do whatever they wished. After today's class...they may have to take a detour.

Today was the day they all learned what happened before, during, and after labor. Blue-grey eyes widened in shock as the instructor went through the procedure. All of this information was very detailed with plenty of pictures of examples. Watching labor was truly eye-opening. Every now and then she would look away from the photo or video and look over to see their classmates' faces. It wasn't surprising to see that some of the males looked a bit sick. Gently she would press her voice into Mira's head in a playful tone. This...this is how you keep teenagers from having unprotected sex. A playful smirk appeared when the other werewolf looked her way. Eventually, the class would be dismissed which meant the two of them could go on their own little adventure. After getting up from their table and pushing her chair towards the table she happily exited the room with Mira.

"If you wanted to get a drink at the bar to mentally wash away what we just saw, we could. But you need to still be able to walk...we have to still shop for the cub."

With one hand she would gently lay it on her much larger stomach. It was fortunate that the location of their class was within the mall. Here they could easily do whatever they wished to do. There were plenty of little restaurants they could go to, and eat what they wished. If they wanted to prop up their feet and be entertained, they could catch a movie or two. Not to mention there were plenty of shops to browse through and buy what they needed. Keeping her pace aligned with her own, she stuffed her hands into the pocket of her hoodie, ignoring the other shoppers as she casually uttered a question.

"So, would you like to know the gender of our cub?"

Well, Mira needed to know what the gender of the cub was if they were going to buy the appropriate clothing.

i'm not ashamed of my scars,
i'm ashamed of the world for not understanding.
