East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

they argued my right to ascension

"Yeah, yeah, I don't see why you couldn't just-"

The conversation is paused momentarily, the overly blonde Hunter moving to sidestep the spray of water from a passing taxi, moving the phone back to his ear once more as he strode down the street, several supernatural beings scurrying into the alleyways they belonged in or hurriedly crossing the street to avoid the darkly dressed man. He had returned to his usual garb of late, those dark denim jeans and sleeveless hoody he had taken to wearing since before he truly cared to remember back in place upon his toned form, Davante's 'tin can' attached to his belt the only visible weapon upon him and even then the silver ring-like object hardly appeared to be anything other than a seemingly useless ornament- the Hunter having taken rather a liking to it despite its questionable origins. It was with little more then a sigh that the man turned his golden gaze upward and towards the signs plastered above his own head, dictating the name of this shop or that bar, searching for the one in particular he had been charged with inspecting- although why the Council cared he hardly knew, one bar was hardly going to result in a supernatural explosion. Then again, perhaps they feared the emergence of something akin to Syn once more, his own features given to shift slightly in some measure of disdain for even the mere memory of that vile little hole. It had been amusing however, to watch them scurry like vermin from it as the flames engulfed it, Azrael having quite enjoyed picking them off one by one. Like fish in a fucking barrel.

"I'm on my way now, it's just up ahead, Red- something. Yeah I'll scout it alright? You'll get your floorplan, what the fuck does it even matter? One vampire bar is the same as any vampire bar. Why don't you watch your fucking language!?"

A snort managed to find it's way from the Hunter, ending the call rather abruptly before jamming his phone back down within the depths of his pocket. He was busy enough as it was, he had enough to do for one day and now this? Inspecting some bar? Was there no one else to do it? Surely the council had some other laky to do such menial tasks? What was Kohl doing that was so important he couldn't be sent to grin and flirt and encourage women to break marriage vows while charming the supernatural world into doing everything he wanted? Kohl, Azrael was entirely sure, was a waste of space in every possible way, his abilities to...charm people useful, he supposed and yet the Hunter merely finds himself thankful it was Kat whom seemed to have drawn the short straw of being stuck with him as an apprentice. An apprentice that seemed to dodge every task or mission sent his way while Azrael was still pounding the pavement in the middle of the night. It was with no small amount of reluctance that the Hunter made his way towards the bar, the scent of...something that smelled potentially mildly edible made his stomach roll and yet he'd be dammed if he ate anything any vampire made.

The door was pressed open easily, the near instant warmth of the place slamming roughly against him as he paused momentarily within the doorway, golden gaze rapidly scanning the room before him. The bar was not overly busy, at least not yet, one particular patron making a dash for the back door the moment Azrael's gaze rested upon him, eyes rolling slightly in response before moving to take a seat at the end of the bar in some effort to prevent the rest of the patrons making some sort of mad dash for the exit as if they feared his sudden and supposedly uncontrollable urge to hunt. In truth, he was perhaps a little agitated at his surroundings, instincts grating against him all the same, senses well aware of the proximity of several vampires that no part of him desired to have any closer- fingers taping against the polished surface of the bar that seemed to be attempting to pretend it was Irish.

The layout of the place was committed easily enough to memory, eyes lazily dragging over the arrangements, a number of back rooms surely hidden from view and yet for now the Hunter was content enough with his findings, making some effort to pretend it was merely the décor he was so curious off rather than the building design itself- the council forever determined to know the inner workings of the majority of establishments within the city. The sudden appearance of a glass of...something....before him seemed to draw the often irritable man's attention from the bar's interior, golden eyes resting upon the nervous waitress that had presented it to him. He had hardly expected to be served, the vast majority of supernaturally run establishments often refusing to serve his own kind- perhaps under the belief they would leave sooner, this surprise reflected briefly within his gaze as the waitress hurried away. Truly had the vampire girl had a broom or other long pole he was assured she would have pushed the drink towards him in the same manner a trainer fed a tiger at the zoo.

"I didn't order...whatever this is."

The girl however was long gone, leaving the Hunter to merely scowl at whatever it was she'd put before him, eyes narrowing slightly in inspection, hardly trusting the drink in the slightest, one finger tapping at the glass almost experimentally as if he truly expected the liquid to perform some sort of trick, else begin to leak blood, the mere thought making his stomach reel.....
