East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

Alexander's eyebrows raised ever so slightly at the young woman's explanation of the events that led up to her rather unfortunate change into the creature she was today. The notion that somehow it was "accidental" by a man who called himself an Alpha seemed....laughable at best. Usually accidents tended to happen when the were that had caused it were unaware of the curse that now infected their blood or by some terrible bodily exchange of fluids with lovers that had little idea their curse could be transmitted with more then just a bite. But an Alpha was not ignorant and this girl looked particularly...well, young. Something about her and the way she spoke of her Alpha made him doubt that there was anything intimate going on between the pair.

It was perhaps this conclusion that cause a small snort to leave Alexander's nose, his head shaking ever so slightly, "I wouldn't be surprised if he did." Alexander responded, entirely ignorant that the young woman in front of him happened to be connected to the were-creature that had lately afflicted his own life. If he had known, however, he would have assured her that it most certainly was not an accident. Frost did little "accidentally" and he sure as hell did not "save" people. However, his ignorance, for once, left him with little insight into her life or the thoughts behind this mysterious Alpha. Instead, he had focused entirely upon the food on his plate, nibbling on each piece of delectable steak despite the fashion at which it might be teasing the were-herbivore.

His muted consumption of his dinner, however, halted the moment that there was any mention of himself and the past he was so particularly well known for. He'd noticed, by this point, the way that the young girl had sat up ever so slightly, her shoulders pulling back as if she somehow intended to challenge him on this. His eyebrow rose ever so slightly at the young woman's inquiry, the girl was clearly quite assured that in this, she could hardly be wrong -- except that she was. He put down his fork, a clear look of annoyance crossed the Macedonian man's features. "Probably because that goddamned 'council' or whatever the hell they want to call themselves forbade me from finishing taking over the rest of what you now call Iraq. No, instead we have to worry about those god damned witches that have been around for nearly a century because earth magic is going to kill us all or we have to go to England to hunt down the werewolf. I have done far more than nothing - child. You just remain ignorant of it because they only let me participate in any war this world has seen if I change my name all the damn time. Heaven forbid the world knew of Dark Hunters in 323 BC. Let us believe in our gods and oracles and wise women but Dark Hunters? Î"αμημένο σÏ...μβούλιο ." The Greek words rolled effortlessly off his tongue, the man's annoyance clearly getting the better of him.

He turned towards his tea, pausing just long enough to push those long and deep seeded emotions down and away. At least, such had been his intent until the young woman suddenly realized exactly what he was - as delayed as such a realization was. He watched the way in which she faced him with a sudden resolve she had certainly lacked earlier, as if he, reclining in his chair with a platter of food on his lap, was somehow going to burst forward and murder her in cold blood at a moment's notice. For a moment, he simply stared at her before he raised his cup to his lips, taking a long sip of the warm liquid before it was placed on the small table in front of them. Alexander picked up his fork, hardly bothering to even look at her as he dug into the mashed potatoes. "You're too easy to kill and, as you've noticed, cleaning up after it wouldn't be worth the hassle. Just don't start biting people. Then one of those council members will come storming in here and demand I actually track you down - because your so dangerous. Why they elect children to that thing though --" His mutterings trailed off, easily replaced instead by his fork in his mouth. The council and its dealings was quite clearly a continued point of contention for the ancient man, his dealings with them had been long and tedious and this bunch within this city somehow hardly seemed any better.
