I've never gotten an invitation to a party before. I don't even really understand what a party is, but I know that earlier, Raven was getting all dressed up to go out and she told me she was going to that masquerade party. If I stay in the house all night, I'll be alone so what other alternative do I have? I hate being in the house alone. It's dark and there's a suspicious lack of noises save the cracking of the wood floors as the temperature changes. I've spent a lot of time alone here lately and I don't like it any better so instead I find myself going through my closet, trying to find that pretty dress Nadya had picked out when we went shopping. She said it really fits my skin tone and brings out my eyes.

Once I find it, I slip it on, finding that I like the way the black sleek material clings to me but not in a suffocating way. There's a long slit up the side that makes me wonder if I already cut it on something but maybe it's supposed to be there? I don't know. When the air hits my thigh, I shiver but I think I can still handle it. I brush my hair and pretty much leave it natural since I don't know how to style my hair any otherway, really, besides a pony tail. The air hits my back and I look in the mirror, my jaws parting when I see that it has a very open back, with one slit of material that runs down the middle. Hope I don't get cold.

Trying not to think about how vulnerable I feel right now, I slip on some black heels and then head out. I walk to a nearby costume shop that happens to have a lot of masks still in stock. I pick out a black one to match the dress with a lot of feathering on the upper sides. It almost reminds me of my fox ears. I smile at the thought as I slip it on and head down the road toward the party. I sigh in defeat while standing outside the door, shifting my weight foot to foot while I try to consider if I really want to do this. Maybe I'll find Raven and Tobi! But I don't want to ruin their night. I bite my lower lip as I think about it but finally I give up and walk in.

I jump first thing when I realize that the man close to the door is a hunter. Will he hurt me? I watch him suspiciously as I slide on past, glancing back over my shoulder to make sure he doesn't follow. Is he not hunting tonight or is this a trap? I bite my lip again as I find myself in the crowd. Moving through them, I try to touch people as little as possible, holding my arms in close to my body. I stop in the middle of the room, looking around before my gaze catches sight of Tobi and Raven. They're talking to what seems to be Isolt and some other guy. I scowl. I don't want to interrupt their night. So instead I keep looking, and I'm surprised to find none other than the guy who walked me home the other night. He seems to be looking elsewhere though so I keep looking. Of course, I don't know anyone else here so I head toward the bar, eager to sit somewhere out of the way and observe.
