Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Vhalla could almost feel the anger pouring off Sam in waves. She knew she finally struck a nerve with the faerie queen and a grim satisfaction permeated Vhal's thoughts. She knew she shouldn't push the woman any farther but she couldn't help it, the assassin wanted to help Sam hone that rage and use it as a weapon. The woman needed more help than she admitted and the witch was going to help weather Samantha wanted it or not. Vhalla was about to shout a particularly insulting comment at the faerie when she felt the wave of fear engulf her. It was so strong that the assassin nearly staggered backwards, her heart hammering and sweat beading at her temples.

Eyes widening a wild look entered her eyes and she just stopped herself from hurling on the ground again. Distracted by the sudden onslaught, she didn't even see Sam move until Vhalla was beneath her, a dagger poised at her throat. Still, the assassin did not realize how far she had pushed Sam as the fire continued to engulf her and her family in her mind. Tears began to stream out of the corner of her eyes and then suddenly the fear was gone and in place was a very angry faerie raging above her. Wisely, the witch doesn't move, not even to wipe away the remnants of the tears.

Letting Sam work out her anger on Vhalla, she remains motionless and expressionless. When the dagger breaks the skin at her throat, Vhal simply watches Sam silently letting the faerie take as much time as she needed and giving the woman a chance to punch Vhalla in the face for terrifying her. When the queen finishes her rant, the assassin briefly closes her eyes, putting her own emotions in check. "Sam," she starts, hesitantly as if she were speaking to a wild animal, "I've been tracking your problem. I haven't gotten even a whiff of them in this city and if they were here I would know," Vhalla states calmly.

"Think Samantha, why would I want you to attack me?" she pauses for a moment before adding more forcefully, "I need you to work through your paranoia," another pause and a deep breath, "I am not your enemy, I am a friend, your friend and you are one of my only friends." Again, Vhalla trails off and lets Sam work through her fear, to the why's she would do something so horrendous. "Yes, Sam. I wanted you to attack me but not for the reasons you are thinking. You did a splendid job by the way, I've only had one other person take me off guard like that," she offers a grim smile while Will briefly flashes in her mind.

"I will say this again, your creators are not in Sacro," she whispers finally reaching a hand up to grab the dagger by the blade. Feeling it slice into her hand, blood trickles onto her chest and throat as she slowly eases the blade away from her neck. Sitting up she wiggles out from under Sam gently before taking the dagger gently from Sam's grip and setting it on the floor besides them. Sitting next to her friend, she watches the faerie with saddened eyes. The assassin wouldn't admit it but she had hoped that even in the throes of her anger, the faerie would understand the point of breaking that perfect mold of Sam's.

Though, Vhal was certain she would eventually, she couldn't help but feel the disappointment curling in the pit of her stomach. The woman should know, people only viewed her as a killer. Pushing down the hurt, she reaches out her bloody hand to place it on Sam's shoulder but stops as she sees the blood dripping on the floor. Withdrawing her hand quickly to her lap, she winces at the mess Vhalla had made. Instead, she sits in silence with Sam waiting for a verdict.
