Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Cause i've been dancing with shadows
waiting till the morning after

The vampire was all too aware of the quick progression the King so eagerly made upon that ice, though, truthfully, he was hardly surprised. Dorian was quite akin to a sponge when it came to those newfound experiences Sebastian had subjected him to. He so willingly embraced that new knowledge, so often desiring to expand upon those experiences in his own fashion. He was hardly aware of Dorian's determination to spend the entirety of their evening so perfecting this art if only for the desire to simply skate alongside him. That call of his name, however, so easily drew the vampire's eyes, his lips twitching ever so slightly in a warm simper as the King so attempted to display his newfound skills upon that roughened surface. It was endearing, really, the eagerness in which Dorian so presented in spite of all that foreignness that so often surrounded him. That progression the King had made from that spill upon the ice at first step to now was certainly noteworthy, those words of encouragement so willingly offered, even if the Englishman had little notion of the value Dorian placed upon that effortless praise. Such words, after all, had come so effortlessly to his lips, the vampire entirely supportive of his lover in nearly all things, especially when it so came to activities that he himself enjoyed.

The King's declaration that he so intended to leave the safety of that wall hardly caused the vampire any true great distress, the man accepting this too as a natural progression of that once again increasing confidence. Ice, however, often had a way of so reminding even the best that it was a monster not to underestimated. Falls were common, even in those that spent the entirety of their days upon that very surface. His lover experiencing yet another tumble was quite inevitable, even if it did not happen now or tonight. Instead, he gestured ever so slightly for Dorian to so continue with that determination he saw well within those silver irises, though, in truth, he'd long since learned that stopping the King was quite a difficult thing to attempt within the first place. Still, he trailed behind his lover all the same, remaining as dutiful and patient as was so expected of him as Dorian pushed off from the edge of the ring to cross into that center and, thus, uncharted territory. That wobble of the man's body, however, was enough forewarning to so prompt the vampire's action, those blades slicing so effortlessly against that slippery surface to bring the man exactly to where he was needed most. He felt Dorian's fingers grasp at his arm, so utilizing his own unwavering figure to find that balance before, that pick dug into the ice to so continue that trek to the other side as he had previously intended to do.

That declared success, however, brought little more than a soft chuckle from the vampire himself. Sebastian was hardly sure he would call what had occurred success, but he was willing enough to admit that, perhaps it was within Dorian's best interest to so skate away from the safety of that wall, to further perfect upon that balance and rigidness that so filled his frame. He hardly complained at all with the notion beyond the skeptical raise of his eyebrows, instead Sebastian merely circled his lover before settling at the King's side with decided ease. That idle comment, as teasing as it was, so brought a soft hint of laughter upon his lips. "The first ice skating rink was opened here in London in 1876. They named in the Glaciarium. I went there on opening day, it was quite the social affair. Very few of us knew how to skate at all." Except for her, of course. She had glided with relative ease, graceful and beautiful upon those booted blades. His ability to at least remain upright had been the only thing to have caught her interest. They had visited that very rink many times that year, in that whirlwind of their dating, though such memories were things Sebastian hardly intended to mentioned, just as he often strove to avoid the topic of her altogether. Instead, a small shrug crossed the man's shoulders as he continued, "It closed later that year but, I went frequently while it was open, it became quite the fad for some time amongst the wealthy."

Still, even those glimpses of his past hardly prepared Sebastian for those words that left his lover's lips - that he was a good boyfriend. That simple admittance so caught the vampire entirely off guard, though he strove to not let it show, his thoughts nearly immediately turning to that same woman who had so overshadowed his outlook on that romantic life - at least, until Dorian. That the museums and art galleries might so be enough to gift him such a rare title was one he'd certainly not anticipated in the slightest, much less even considered and yet, the vampire was quick to so steer the topic to something else entirely after softly uttering those words of thanks, forgetting for a moment the way in which that ebony and gold ring upon his lover's finger might so give him away in that delicate moment. Instead, Sebastian found himself offering a singular idea, as simple as it was, his hand offered to the King now with a simple question of trust upon his lips, the man entirely capable of being enigmatic when it so suited him. That simple phrase, however, seemed enough to wholly distract his lover entirely as he watched Dorian's gaze raise in cautious consideration. His fingers slowly fit within Sebastian's hand, clearly willing to trust the vampire despite that clear hint of suspicion.

That simper returned to his features all the same as he uttered simply, "Don't pick up your skates." It was the only instruction Sebastian provided before he shifted abruptly, resorting back to that effortlessly backwards skating his lover had so commented on but moment's before. He reached forward to take Dorian's other hand within his own, clearly taking control of not only where the pair were going but too that speed in which they so traveled. It was easy enough to drag Dorian towards the inner circle of the ring, where the faster skaters tended to frequent, his feet fell with that same perfect precision of those skilled individuals and yet, the entire point of the whole affair was simply to show his lover what skating could be, to feel the wind in his hair and the ice beneath his blades as they sailed with smooth ease around that ring, the vampire so able to skate with the same confidence in which he was merely able to walk. Yet what good was it to be capable of all of this if he was not able to share it? That grin crossed his features as those blue eyes turned back towards his lover, simply watching him and feeling the beat of his heart upon his own pale finger, there was, after all, something entirely adrenaline inducing of this and yet, he hardly subjected Dorian to anymore then a few laps around the ring before he stopped quite abruptly, chuckling as he so allowed his lover's form to collide into his chest, catching the man all the same. "That was fun, wasn't it?" He inquired, entirely boyish in that moment.
