Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

The vampire knew well the envy and jealousy that ran through the veins of that President. He had been in office but mere months before now, his grand goals surely interrupted by the simple fact that now, there was an authority higher than even him. Greed was something Sebastian understood particularly well, he had watched that thirst for power in many of his friend's families, much less his own father. He despised even the notion, however, of Dorian's throne being put at risk by a singular political force. That was, in truth, perhaps one of the singular two concerns that had graced the vampire's mind ever since they had stepped into the limelight of the public. He knew well the stress and weight that settled upon Dorian's shoulders, the man could practically see it within the King despite those gracious smiles. Sebastian made every effort to ensure he was not an additional worry upon his lover's mind. His head bobbed in agreement at Dorian's admittance that even he was well aware of the Italian President's person. He saw reason to utter anything further upon the topic, entirely trusting within his boyfriend's capabilities to manage his affairs. Instead, Sebastian followed his lover towards the King's bedroom, pausing only at those softly whispered words that that meeting with the very man they both abhorred was one he had every intention of simply skipping.

Although Sebastian was hardly opposed to the notion, he knew well that, in the game of politics, choosing to be absent to an affair said just as much as choosing to attend one. It was with that in mind that the vampire find himself inquiring of if such a decision was perhaps a truly prudent notion, though, Dorian seemed inclined to it all the same, presenting him with but a small shrug. His eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly as the King insisted that surely his empire would survive a single night without him - that alone a fact he could not argue against and yet, it was that request the King intended to deny that saw a tinge of curiosity within the man. Still, it was ill mannered to inquire after it and so, instead, the vampire merely nodded, accepting those change in plans with decided ease as the pair made their way back towards those rooms that had quite become their sanctuary from the onslaught of the outside world. The vampire himself set about changing into that formal attire that had been acquired and tailored for his fit physique, the vampire entirely dapper in those crisp, finely pressed clothings, his own tie nearly perfect in it's knotting. In fact, the vampire had only just tied that finishing bit before his lover's voice reached out to him to declare, yet again, his utter failure with the cloth that hung around his neck.

A soft chuckle left his lips as he moved towards his lover's side, his fingers entirely deft in their actions as he worked to undo that mess the King had created before forming it into something wholly presentable in but mere moments. That art of folding that tie had become nearly second nature to the vampire, though after nearly a hundred years of practice, it certainly should be. A small simper crossed his features as Dorian reached upwards to gingerly toy with his own tie, straightening it ever so slightly till the vampire was the very image of perfection. His bright blue eyes briefly met those silver ones of the fae he so adored and yet, that sudden shift of that vibration against his finger saw his eyebrows twitch ever so subtly in consideration as the King instead ever so hesitantly voiced the existence of a gift of sorts, one he anticipated that Sebastian might find...overwhelming? The notion in itself was certainly peculiar, the vampire entirely unable to hide that quizzical look that crossed his features and yet, he still found himself ever inquisitive, instead merely asking what such a present might have been to make Dorian so utterly...nervous. Sebastian followed Dorian's gesture towards the bed, the man settling upon that plus mattress before those blue eyes fluttered towards the King - only to watch him retreat from that bedroom entirely! Well, that was...unexpected.

Sebastian remained where he was, seated upon that bed whilst he waited for his lover's return, his own thoughts certainly drifting, all the more concerned that, not only did this thing, whatever it was, make Dorian nervous but, had in turn made the King equally as anxious of how he might receive it. Such things of this magnitude certainly sent his now idle mind scampering with a vast array of 'what if' scenarios that certainly would not only never be voiced but also never come to pass. It was almost a relief, in a way, when Dorian had returned with but a wooden box within his hands, even if it was particularly ornately carved. Sebastian's bright blue eyes glanced up at his lover, simply watching as Dorian moved to sit at his side. He was innately aware of that pause to his lover's voice and, in turn, that entirely considering look upon the King's features as Dorian so moved to choose those words with such particular forethought, as if it might in turn make all the difference to what rested within. It was that very mention of his title as Consort that so truly prompted a hint of apprehension within the vampire, that lead up to whatever the King was about to present him with finally tugging on his efforts to remain that steadfast presence within Dorian's life the past few days in the wake of all that had transpired in the palace.

It was that very mention of the word 'crown', however, that saw Sebastian's gaze focus in an entirely deadpan fashion on his lover. "Crown?" He inquired, as if he lacked any knowledge of what that simple word meant. After all, the vampire had never before contemplated that he would be sitting at the side of a King crowned in gold and swathed in amethyst. Such was a role that was often taken only by Dorian himself, at least, within the vampire's mind. His gaze followed Dorian's downwards towards that box within the King's lap, the lid taken off to reveal that exquisite piece of craftsmanship worked in gold and rimmed in teardrop diamonds. For a very long moment, the vampire simply stared at that crown, at least until Dorian placed the box within his hands, moving from that place upon the bed only to make his way towards the small table beside that canopy where Dorian's own crown often rest. His gaze shifted between the pair, the similarities within them decidedly obvious. It was, quite as if that mimicking of Dorian's headpiece had, in a fashion, so declared him of the King's. That, in itself, not wholly lost upon the vampire and yet, that confusion still overran all of those idle observations.

He glanced upwards at his lover as Dorian saw fit to speak yet again, mentioning that he had, in a way, broke that tradition entirely for the vampire alone, crafting that astonishing crown out of gold then the usual silver that was demanded of it. He was, hardly unaware of the importance of this crown, or the fact that Dorian had made it entirely for his head and no one else and yet, it was that nervous flutter of the King's heartbeat against his finger that finally saw his lips part to voice, almost hurriedly voicing his own knowledge of English law, law that appeared entirely different here. "Britain only ever gives the title of Prince Consort to the husband of the reigning queen and even then King Consort isn't given without the consent of parliament and if she wishes to gift him Crown Matrimonial that's a whole different affair but the Queen's....suitors were never declared....were never given crowns. Why am I wearing a crown?" By all official standards, at least to English law, that title of Consort should have even yet been his to have and yet, here he was with both title and crown and...well, they might have spoken some sort of vows and exchanged rings of a King but, not in front of God and the country! "What if it falls off?" That second question fell from his lips in an after thought as he glanced back down at it, this, it would seem, was entirely out of Sebastian's realm of knowledge on what was proper and feebly, he found himself looking to his lover for answers.
