Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

I thought you knew I was filthy rich
I thought you knew I never answer my phone
I thought you knew I was a late night with a bad bite I thought you knew.

Sebastian had little doubt at all that he was directly responsible for the death of John and the turning of William. For years, he'd thought his best friend had died with them. For years he had lamented William - the only man he'd truly ever loved until he met the fae King. Although that knowledge that William was alive certainly lessened his devastation, it hardly helped the guilt he still felt. After all, it had been John's stag party. The pious man was set to become married just two days later. He would have, if Sebastian hadn't felt the need to intervene upon that party in an effort to so coax William's forgiveness. That apology to the man had been the last words upon his lips as Anna-Marie had drained every ounce of that blood from his body. That inquiry so drew the vampire from those dismal thoughts - from that reminder of that horrible moment when he'd known he was going to die and refused to do so without William knowing exactly how much he wished to atone. His head bobbed ever so slightly, his lips parting to offer some sort of explanation. "Yes. She hunted us down because...because she said she thought I was 'pretty'." His head shook from side to side ever so slightly. He knew well, that he could have hardly controlled that childish crush the girl had so formed on him and yet, that didn't stop it from being his fault. "I wasn't supposed to be there that night...if I hadn't been, maybe they might not have died too." It was a softly uttered musing, those what-ifs having already long dwelled upon his mind.

He knew well just how much he was to blame for all of those encounters with his maker - for John's death, William's turning, Samantha's fear, Dorian being put in danger, the attack on those stewardesses. If only he had been more prepared, if he had kept his wits about him and handled them properly, all of those situations might not have happened. He could have changed the outcome to all of those and yet, he had failed in each and everyone of them. It was that gentle squeeze upon his thigh that drew his attention back towards the Monarch, the vampire acutely aware of all those truths he uttered to the man. He'd kept them from him for so long and now, each and every one of those thoughts and sins came flooding from his lips at the realization that Anna-Marie was no longer a part of his life he could hide any longer. He attempted to undo the fashion he was so putting Dorian even further out, suggesting that he hardly had to fret over repairing that teapot, even though his boyfriend seemed rather determined to do so. That admittance of the clear desolation that had marred his features at finding that kettle had prompted the man to offer an apology, one that was quickly waved off, only for Dorian to so catch him in that effort habitual need to beset himself with the blame of each and every minute discomfort Dorian might have experienced in his presence. That simper he was regarded with was met with a small one of his own as Sebastian attempted to bite back yet another apology from crossing his lips.

The vampire shifted from that position upon the floor, altogether aware of those stories and that further truth he owed his lover. Before he even begun those tales of Samantha and his further history with his Maker, he found himself giving into that growing need not only for some sort of alcoholic beverage but also for some sort of reassurance that those words would not wholly be wasted. He couldn't deny that fear that rested within him that all Dorian had learned of him tonight might be enough to drive the man away, the sheer idea of it so gripped his heart with a sort of icy embrace, even though he attempted to appear entirely nonchalant as he rested his chin upon his lover's shoulder and inquired quietly if Dorian intended to stay with him in spite of all of this. Those tender words he was afforded certain served to sooth his heart, that press of the Monarch's lips only further sealing that relief within him. He would have never forgiven Anna-Marie if her intervention saw the destruction of this very thing he held most dearly - more than his very life. It was only with that near promise of an eternity that saw the vampire finally find it acceptable to leave his boyfriend's side, the man instead moving to pour them drinks whilst so affording Dorian the answers he'd seeked.

He knew well that look of consideration upon his lover's features in the aftermath of his efforts to describe that relationship not only between Anna-Marie and himself but also Maker's and their children as a whole. He knew well that his lover was attempting to concoct some way in which the vampire might free himself of that bind and, thus, in turn, of Anna-Marie as a whole. The Englishman could not deny that he had not already torn apart every bit of knowledge he could find upon the topic, to reach out to those contacts he still had within the undead world to gain what he did know already only to discover no real answer that led to any sort of resolute ending. Nevertheless, he provided what little knowledge he did have of that releasing of that bond, as rare as it was. That selfish, craving nature within their kind so likened to the possessiveness he knew well he had for the man before him. He would never have easily let Dorian go, and in turn, he suspect that Anna-Marie might either release him from that hold any time in the near future. Unlike his companion, he'd hardly considered how that very connection might so result in that desire to weaponize their species. After all, Sebastian himself had never felt that desire to create another - to beset them with this same curse. It was a decision that surely was not made lightly.

Still, that simper upon Dorian's features was met with a small one of his own, the vampire instead watching as his lover so sipped mixed beverage Sebastian had so crafted for their consumption. That nearly beaming grin was reassuring enough that Dorian found the drink entirely pleasurable, momentarily distracting the man from those inquiries as Sebastian himself rose that glass to his lips. It was that brief comment on the ritual of breaking that bond that saw the man shrug ever so slightly. "I can't say I know, those I have spoken to on the topic either were still connected to their Creator or their Maker had died. I don't know anyone who has been released." That wasn't to say it was impossible, naturally, but such a topic was not one readily broached amongst their kind. After all, even the right Maker could be a near status symbol amongst them. Even so, Sebastian felt inclined to share what little he did know of the child whom had so created him. He suspected her own creator was long since dead, particularly with her age and that lack of intervention. No, his greatest hope so far was to return her to that state that Ceara had once suggested she had been in - of resolute and clear enough mind to so lead that great coven she'd once sat at the head of.

That sheer suggestion of that congregation was enough to prompt a notable look of incredulity upon the fae's features and yet, those words were halted quite quickly. Sebastian shook his head ever so slightly at that sheer notion that the King saw a need to censor himself from some fear that he might slight the vampire, the man instead easily able to fill in those words that went unspoken. "I did not think it was possible either or that she would be a just leader in any sense. But Ceara insisted otherwise. She said that, once upon a time, Anna-Marie only fed from the willing. Once she did not use her gifts so freely. Once, she had created a home of unity and hope. It seemed...like some distant fantasy but...I did find the remains of it. It why I left you to fly overseas so abruptly. You remember that, don't you?" He inquired, his bright blue eyes shifting towards the fae. That night in which Sebastian had returned from that trip overseas had been wholly important for them as a couple, so finally providing their relationship with some sort of concrete status and yet...even during all of that, Sebastian was still dealing with the burden of all of this.

He had been searching so diligently for those answers once and yet, after that evening, Anna-Marie had all but faded into the night and, in turn, Sebastian had allowed himself to become distracted with that budding relationship with Dorian. He saw little reason to pry into his Maker for as long as she stayed gone. It was merely a shame that she had not done so for longer. That small simper so weakly crossed his features at that near sheepish look that struck the King and yet, Sebastian had little regrets in allowing himself to be so swept up in those emotions that had led them to recently celebrating their anniversary. He saw no reason to not let that silence persist a bit longer, though those offers that fell from Dorian's lips were wholly unexpected. His eyebrows rose ever so slightly at the suggestion and yet, he wasn't wholly against it. Slowly, his head bobbed. "I don't see any harm in asking...Matteo might at least be able to point us in some direction....I know you wanted to have tea with him...perhaps after your business with him is finished?" After all, that talk of Dorian's lineage was vastly more important to him then his own Maker. He was nothing if not determined to see that his lover had that relationship with his father that he'd once so desperately desired.

His head shook ever so slightly at that suggestion of AISE. "I don't know that I have much for them to go off of either. I know she had made another, once, who got taken from her and that whole event prompted her to turn into what she is now. I was hoping tracking her down might help undo it but...I know next to nothing of her and I'd hate to send them on some wild goose chase. She might even be dead, for all I know." That admittance of everything produced a sigh upon his lips as his head shook from side to side. His efforts to fix this had been altogether failing for some time. The vampire simply knew too little, his search was near fruitless and he knew it all too well. It would have been foolish to deny that help if it assisted in eradicating that distinct problem that Anna-Marie was. Heaven help them both if the Media caught wind of all of this - or of the child herself. He could already imagine how those stories might be spun. His fingers slowly rose to his forehead, massaging his temples as he began to consider the sheer consequences of everything Anna-Marie could do.

It was that very thing that prompted that shift over the conversation onto Samantha herself, and all the things the child had already done. He offered Dorian some resemblance of answers to questions the fae had never truly asked of him. He was not unaware of how his lover had so defended him against his roommate on sheer trust. Surely now he deserved those answers of the sort of man Dorian had so quickly defended. Even so, Dorian seemed entirely unconcerned in a fashion Sebastian couldn't help but to find surprising. The vampire found himself continuing all the same on exactly why Anna-Marie had felt inclined to so coax him to bite the girl in the first place. That notion that he was somehow..broken..in the mind of his maker prompted some measure of silence within him - at least until the King so admitted his utter dislike of the girl. In truth, he doubted many held any sort of fondness for her, except, perhaps, those of his race that indulged in eating habits similar to her own.

That press of Dorian's hand against his stopped him from that scrubbing of the oven and yet, that assurance that he should have shared such things before now saw the man admit that, though those stressors had certainly weighed upon him heavily, he'd hated that notion that he might so burden his lover with them. Dorian had far greater concerns with the weight of an entire country's needs upon his shoulders than to fret with such insignificant issues as a single vampire. That utterance of his full first name slowly drew his gaze back towards those silver eyes, prompted only further by that soft press of Dorian's hand against his chin. Those words Dorian offered him should have provided him with reassurance and yet, he could not help that lingering uncertainty. He watched as that silence so abruptly filled the space between them, those words cut off sort before the man started again, this time from a clearly different angle. That comparison of his utter importance to Dorian at last, finally, coaxed some measure of understanding within him. After all, he would have given the world for his lover and the idea that Dorian felt the same nearly made him feel guilty for keeping all of this from the King.

That easy smile upon Dorian's features saw him nibble hesitantly upon his bottom lip, those French words hardly unignored, much less the tumbler that was pressed into his hands. For a long moment, Sebastian so considered those words, placing those empty glasses beside one another upon that center island. "I'm sorry I kept such things from you." He uttered softly, entirely willing to admit that, perhaps, he had handled this whole affair, wrong. He so easily poured those drinks, mixing those wines and alcohols within those glasses as he considered his lover's words. He supposed, really, it wouldn't be awful to let his lover in - to admit all those things he kept for himself. After all, Matteo had so seen their future together, hadn't he? A soft sigh left his lips as he placed that last wine bottle down, those drinks complete and yet, Sebastian hardly reached for them. Rather, he stepped forward towards his lover, his forehead leaning against Dorian's shoulder. Tonight, it seemed, he was willing to give into Dorian's insistence, he was willing to give the King all of him. "I don't know what to do if she comes back tomorrow night." He uttered softly into the fabric of his lover's shirt, finally voicing that worry that was the most concerning to him. "I don't know what to do if she commands me to hurt you."
