Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

and so we fall like toy soldiers;

we all fall down like toy soldiers

I had this weird sort of ability that makes me unable to be alone. I was a people person, or to make it clearer, I was someone who always needed one of my siblings around. That's why I never exactly strayed too far from Dav's side, it was almost like I felt leashed in a way. We were pulled together through blood and further tied together through the things we had gone through and done together. We had fear and motivation on our side, we knew what it was like to lose the people we cared about. I could only ever trust him to remain solid and constant and Dav might think he was a horrible protector, but I knew that should I ever need it, he'd be there in a heartbeat asking who needed a beating.

That was just how it went with us, we'd defend each other no matter the cost.

Except in this matter.

The doorframe was cutting off my air a bit but I knew he'd let up shortly; when he was fully satisfied I had learned a lesson. One that I learned many times over. I saw the spoon wobble, "Crap" I said, closing my eyes to mere slits as it zoomed towards me. It was within mere inches of my nose and I didn't like it, "That's cheating you fuâ€"" I leaned my head back as far as I could and the spoon lingered there for moments longer then it needed to. I knew Dav was unhappy I'd woken him up, but, seriously I was trying to do something nice. He did have to put up with my antics on a regular basis. This was my attempt at payment. And so what it Ellie said it was easy. What was easy for them in regards to food was definitely not my forte.

He finally let the door go, thank the freaking lord, what did he think I was going to do? Make a run for it in my boxers? Not likely, it was a bit too chilly for my tastes. "I still don't know if I've made it to adulthood yet, when I figure it out, I'll let you know," I pause as his arm slams into me and I take a step back against the very same doorframe I was just pinned against. "And yes, I can use a microwave, I can do that much," I say and it was obvious there was a pout in my voice. I mean, seriously, it wasn't that hard to push some buttons and walk away. Though there was that time I'd put metal in there and there was that blue flash of light and the whole thing died. Yeah, never doing that again.

I was used to stealing what I needed for food or finding the nearest sibling and inviting myself to dinner. I wasn't shy about it either. Sometimes I wonder if I'd still be alive if I had had to be on my own, I'd probably die of starvation because the only thing I could make was easy mac in the microwave.

I trailed him into the kitchen, noting that I really had gotten some on the ceiling. Man, I was good. It had to take certain skill to be able to create as much of a mess as I did and sometimes I took pride in said work. Until I had to clean it up. It wasn't my fault I didn't know how to lightly beat an egg, it could mean any number of things.

"Well, I didn't even get the stove turned on yet..." I say, shrugging in helplessness. I look up at the spot he saw and couldn't stifle the laugh that burst forth at the ridiculousness of the situation. "That...is an extremely good question. I don't have an answer for that one, actually." I say, leaning on the counter and grabbing some strawberries I had managed to actually cut up. My knife skills were better than any type of real cooking or baking. Don't even get me started on trying to make a cookie.

"Can you fix it?" I ask, that pleading tone to my voice and wide innocent eyes. I was hungry and nothing was going to stand in the way of getting food in me. I knew that the mess in front of us was unsalvageable, it usually always is.
