Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

The first night she had moved in Arlo had mentioned a little panda, had even showed her pictures. The petite Asian woman merely thought he was joking, the photos were edited to produce the image of a panda and a man. In the end, she had realized he was, in fact, being serious. Miya had even scolded her roommate, telling him that he couldn't very well have a wild animal in the apartment. They could get evicted! She had been stern with him, though he never agreed, she had hoped that he wouldn't do it anymore. Plus, animals were filthy. She didn't have time to clean their apartment that often as it was, the fur would only add the that mess!

That scrabbling noise has Miya instantly panicking, prepared to chase off the intruder, she grabs that broom, inching around the corner. Eyes scanning the small apartment, it doesn't take long for her to locate the noise, the tiny little creature sitting on its haunches, those beady little eyes turned on her. Miya is silent for a moment, blinking in shock, hand tightly gripping that broom before the little creature turns to face her, as if she were going to trot towards her. The small movement has the woman screeching, lunging forward with that broom, the bristles directed at the little animal. Honestly, she hadn't meant to hit the animal, truly; that fear merely took her over.

As the little panda topples over backwards, Miya backs off momentarily hoping it would merely race off and back out that window. How very wrong Miya was! The animal turns, scrabbling furiously at the bedroom door and as Miya gathers her thoughts, she races forward, broom in hand once more with the intention of batting the creature away from Arlo's door. "Arlo! ARLO! Wake up!" she shrieks loudly just as the panda races away, hurling itself under the table, knocking the chair over. Miya chases after her, her midnight hair streaking behind her as the chair loudly slams to the ground. Dashing around the side, she slides on socked feet nearly toppling over herself. The broom flails in her hand, knocking the lamp from the stand, shattering onto the ground.

Ignoring the mess, Miyako steadies herself watching as the animal bolts from under the table towards the kitchen. Holding that broom like a weapon once more, she dashes after the animal, not quick enough to bat it away from the counter as it climbs onto the counter, knocking papers and text books, even a couple of glass jars that explode onto the ground. Miya is as careful as she can be with no shoes one, though she hardly pays attention to how far the glass shards are scattered across the floor. Her chocolate eyes turn towards the panda who manages to climb on top of the fridge. Miya's heart pounds against her chest rapidly as she holds the broom in front of her in a defensive position. "ARLO!" she shouts loudly again, stepping forward, barely managing to avoid the glass on the ground as she sweeps the broom out, successfully knocking the little animal onto the ground.

She doesn't hesitate as she practically uses the broom as a hockey stick, batting the bristles against the panda back into the living room. There was no way she was going to be able to get the animal out through that window. She should have opened the door! Distressed, she chases the animal into the front room, her eyes dart to the one open door in the whole house. The bathroom! Attempting to heard the little animal towards the open door, Miya slides around the corner, her feet slipping from beneath her as she feels her body precariously tilted to the side. Completely losing her balance, she drops the broom, slamming into the ground hard. Wincing, Miya gasps as the wind is knocked out of her, a small groan emitted from her lips. It takes several seconds before she can gather her thoughts. Almost immediately she realizes she was at eye level with the panda, another shriek emitting from her mouth before she pushes herself to a standing position, grasping the broom once more before launching herself at the panda again.
