Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

every king had a story, of ancient glory, sweetly told

It was within that wholly blissful afterglow and in the wake off all they had done that Dorian found himself perfectly content to simply bask. His entire form felt utterly sated in the wake of that release he had found only moments ago, that very physical adrenaline of sorts readily replaced with that simple emotional desire for closeness and that perfect state of tranquility the pair so often seemed to find in the aftermath of those often energetic couplings they partook in so regularly. There was something pleasurable to that swift beat of his heart and uneven breathing and too- a ready satisfaction that came with seeing that same exertion presented upon his lovers figure. Even if Sebastian would likely recover in mere minutes. His lovers vampiric form capable of those physical feats the Monarch's own simply never would be. Dorian so taking a certain amount of pride in being able to tire the vampire at all- even if such a thing was decidedly temporary. Those rarely uttered words were eagerly returned by his lover then, Dorian quite assured those words alone had a habit of seeing his heart miss a beat once more. The Monarch taking a certain delight in hearing them even if they so surely displayed that very sentiment each and every day in all they did for one another. That simple consideration they held for each other so punctuating each action with love and yet how glorious it was to hear all the same. That warm simper upon his lips only widening as Sebastian's hand rested against his cheek in that momentary affection. Dorian willingly embracing that offered kiss and eagerly returning it, such a gesture encompassing that ready affection he felt for the man before he softly pulled away- only to straighten a few locks off his lovers mused hair. The Fae King rather assured it was his own hands that had mused it to begin with. How satisfying that thought could be in turn!

His fingers toyed near absentmindedly with that wedding ring upon his fiance's finger. Dorian quite adoring to see it so perfectly in place. The man taking a great satisfaction from it even if he himself hardly knew all the reasons why it seemed to delight him so very much. His fingers affording that ornate surface a final brush before his own accented lyrics so softly interrupted that peaceful silence with that comment upon dinner. Sebastian promptly declaring he would text that manservant. Dorian unable to prevent that soft chuckle of amusement the idea of texting a man whom was merely one floor away seemed result within and yet, truly, Dorian had little desire to remove himself from that bed, nor allow Sebastian to wander out of that room a second time. His head simply nodding in agreement as the vampire reached for his phone and Dorian offered him another strawberry so laced in that milk chocolate. The man pausing only to pluck one for himself from that pile. That sound of appreciation rising within the back off his throat as that small simper found his lips again, his head bobbing in simple agreement to that sentiment his Consort offered.

"Very."

In truth, the Fae was rather assured he could eat the entire bowl of them, given the chance. Dorian having come to enjoy those fresh fruits even despite how infrequently he ate in any sense. His own thoughts shifted then to one of those final decisions that so needed to be made for their wedding. This surely a perfect time to so discuss those musical choices if only because it hardly required them to leave their bed in any sense. Those musical notes so adding a decidedly romantic feel to that evening all the same while so surely distracting Sebastian's thoughts away from any attempts the vampire might so have made to further consider those parts of his birthday he did not enjoy as much as others not that the distraction of that coupling was removed. Dorian so refusing to allow this evening to be tainted with but an ounce of displeasure as he reached for that ipad. The Monarch running his fingers across the screen only to bring that first musical piece to life. His gaze turned to his lover then, curious to see whether or not Sebastian remembered this particular performance as well as he did himself. That ready nod that he had surely not forgotten it, along with that assurance it was a perfectly suitable choice for their first dance as husband and husband stirring that grin to his lips. Dorian quite assured it was a perfect choice. The Monarch making a note to so confirm it with Emma in the morning before his fingers shifted to bring up that very list from the woman herself, angling that screen to allow Sebastian to see it in turn.

That idle comment from his lover that anything would be more suitable than Pachelbel's Canon in D when they walked down that aisle saw that frown touch his features. Dorian's head tilted slightly in a moment of ready contemplation, the Fae struggling to place that particular piece. Such a musical number outside his own knowledge.

"I fear I am not familiar with that piece but I see no reason not to assure it is omitted if you dislike it. I should not like any part of our wedding to be mundane."

That very word was displeasing in itself. Dorian trusting entirely that if Sebastian so deemed that song mundane then it surely was that very thing. His finger returned to that screen then, flicking that list until that very piece was located. Dorian promptly deleting it from the list itself with a satisfied nod before returning to that selection of choices. The Fae appearing contemplative once more.

"The wedding co-ordinator believes we should have a combination of those older, more classical pieces and a few more modern songs for that reception so all our guests might hear something they enjoy and yet I am decidedly lacking in any knowledge of what is deemed a modern piece. I suppose it is the ones on this list. Do any of these look familiar to you?"

Dorian gestured to that list once more, not a single name upon it at all familiar to him. A handful of those songs beneath that 'modern' title performed by those more modern composers, Dorian eyeing one by Andre Rieu before letting his gaze drop lower to those songs suggested for later in the evening. Several of them listed as 'popular' music. Even the genre itself foreign to the man as Dorian reached to tap one of the links listed beside those titles. His ipad screen shifting abruptly to you-tube where 'Love Song' by Sara Bareilles suddenly begun to play. Dorian staring blankly at that screen for several moments before glancing to Sebastian.

"Why does she sing about her head being underwater? I am confused as to whether or not she is happy or unhappy in this song. What a perfectly obscure piece."

The Fae King was hardly un-used to hearing those lyrics so placed with music and yet those songs sung within his own time were distinctly about something. Those words often near poetry. Dorian not yet accustomed to modern music in any sense. The Fae appearing little more then confused before Sebastian inquired as to just who they were to have play at their ceremony.

"My Palace has a Royal Choir which will provide those religious hymns for the ceremony, but for just whom will play at the reception it seems we have yet to decide. Have you any suggestions?"

Dorian paused once more, affording his lover that moment to consider those choices before his finger moved to press to another of those links. That sudden beating of drums echoing so loudly the Monarch near jolted in surprise before hurriedly flicking away from tha song. These popular songs, it seemed, were decidedly surprising things. Dorian pressing at another than, that acoustic guitar far more pleasant and so preventing Dorian from immediately shifting from that piece. The sudden knock at the door drawing his attention, the Monarch shifting to pull that sheet across them both in some attempt at modesty before Charles entered with those trays of dinner and that wine. That smell simply divine as Dorian so nodded that greeting, the manservant setting those trays on the bedside table before the fellow seemed to pause. I love this song! I went to their concert. It was back in, oh, two thousand and three i believe but I- ah, forgive me. I simply have not heard it in a terribly long time. Such a shame the lead guitarist died. It was a tragic death. Horrible. He was very young. He was brilliant though. The band broke up after that and reformed later but they were not the same. Never saw the same success. Dorian's own eyes raised slightly upward in that clear surprise, Charles so rarely, if ever, offering any hint in to any of his pastimes outside his work in their home, although truly, it seemed foolish to believe the man merely lived only to serve them. Dorian glancing back towards that screen then. That footage showing a live concert, the camera panning away from that singer to the very guitarist Charles spoke off.

"Do you know? I quite like this song. I think it's rather lovely and I- Bastian?"

That curious look upon his lovers features had hardly failed to capture his attention. Sebastian seeming to eye that screen with some intrigue then. Dorian's silver gaze shifting between the man and that footage. His hand reaching to brush against Sebastian's arm then and draw his attention as Charles excused himself to attend to those other tasks.

"Do you not enjoy this band? I fear I have never heard of it myself. Although you have a friend named Arlo, don't you? I find that a terribly odd name too."

Dorian's hand lifted briefly to point to that screen, that text beneath that video so listing the band members. That guitarist sharing the same name as Sebastian own friend. Arlo. Dorian so hardly anticipating that it may well have been the same man entirely.
