Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

every king had a story, of ancient glory, sweetly told

It was, in every sense, decidedly unusual for either man to be so purposefully untidy. Neatness was hardly a mere matter of politeness in men of their social standing. Rather, it was an utter expectation. Dorian, just as Sebastian, had been raised from birth to move, speak and act in a decidedly purposeful fashion. A gentleman was never untidy in either appearance or manner. The decor of a home, from every touch of paint to every wall hanging and piece of furniture had its place. Order spoke of wealth and good breeding. Even children, no matter how young, were not permitted to be unruly or disheveled. To see Sebastian upend not only those containers in the kitchen but too- topple the books from the shelves was a decided break from the vampires usual demeanor and a veritable step away from that gentlemanly manner Sebastian rarely strayed from. This, it seemed, was the very power that chocolate had over the fellow. Dorian finding it rather delightful in every sense. He enjoyed these moments of childishness and boyish good humour. He enjoyed simply being himself without the weight of the world to judge his every action and too- he adored seeing Sebastian so totally absorbed in that easter hunt. Dorian quite unable to prevent that grin from acousting his features as the vampire proudly displayed those four final eggs he had managed to find- at the expanse off the bookcase- and yet Dorian so hardly found himself concerned in the slightest for that disorder.

It was only once those eggs had been added to that easter basket that Dorian so saw fit to announce to his lover the decided difficulty of that final easter treat. One he was willing to trade for a hint toward his own birthday gifts that rested so temptingly upon the dining room table. He was but hopeless when it came to surprises for himself! The Monarch so eternally enjoyed surprising his husband and yet he could positively barely stand to be surprised in turn. His simple curiosity and naturally inquisitive nature were prone to driving him near mad with utter wonderment of just what such surprises might entail. The mystery of those gift boxes no less so as he continued to eye them. Sebastian seeming to consider that proposition for several moments longer than Dorian was sure was necessary before agreeing to it. The bright grin such agreement had coaxed to his features seemed to falter slightly as that curiosity took over once more in the wake of that very hint. How impossible a hint it was! Dorian so finding himself only more curious now as his head tilted to the side as if this might provide him further clues. What a perfectly obscure riddle he had been presented with! The Monarch so struggling to decide just what he thought that gift might be and yet even the box itself gave so little away. After all, the gift could easily be smaller then the box itself. Dorian quite unable to prevent that query of just what was in it- even if he knew readily he was sure to be denied such answers. Sebastian merely chuckling as his head simply shook. Dorian managing something akin to a near pout of his own in that moment. Wretched being Sebastian was!

That he might trade that final piece of hidden chocolate for one of those gifts however was something of a ready surprise. Dorian making some effort to at least appear as if he need contemplate that choice and yet he was assured that his husband knew just as well as he did that his curiosity would surely get the better of him. That defeated sigh fell from him as he gave in to those very urges. The Fae King promptly announcing that chocolate was right in front of Sebastian all along. The vampires sudden query upon the bed itself seeing both eyes lift. That ready laughter falling from him then. For all his talents he was assured he was not quite so talented as to craft the bars of the bed from that sweet substance. Dorian so allowing his eyes to roll lightly in that playful manner as his head softly shook. Sebastian so insisting he would have been impressed with just such a thing. Dorian, perhaps, not above admitting that he too would surely have impressed in near equal measure.

Even so, the Monarch shifted but slightly forward from his position upon the bed to reach around behind himself and produce that sweet chocolate rabbit crafted out of no less then three types of chocolate in turn. That bunny by far the most glorious of those easter treats and indeed the very reason it had been concealed to begin with. The gasp upon Sebastian's lips was so hardly missed, that soft chuckle prompted from the fae's own once more. Dorian assured it was hardly his concern if Sebastian's vampiric senses had been led astray by that plethora of scents. The vampire quick to defend those very senses with that promise to inspect Dorian himself for chocolate first next easter. That grin becoming near impish then as he so regarded the man before him.

"I quite encourage you to do just that. Who knows what you might find."

That such an easter hunt as that might be over within mere moments had readily occured to the Monarch. The pair of them likely to become hopelessly distracted in the wake of such things and yet he hardly found he minded in any sense. Dorian leaning forward then to steal that singular kiss from his lover. That softly uttered 'happy easter' upon his lips as he kneeled beside the vampire. Dorian struggling to afford Sebastian those moments to examine that easter rabbit before that near whine fell from his own lips. The Monarch incapable of patience in any sense. Not when such gifts were on offer! Still, he had so hardly anticipated that mention of a very festival of chocolate as Sebastian moved to that dining room table. His attention but momentarily distracted by that very idea. His features so displaying that surprise.

"You have a chocolate quarter? Have you taken me to Bristol before? I am assured I don't remember that name. Have you any houses there?"

Dorian was near eternally intrigued by England as a country at large. After all, not only was it the very country from which his own husband originated, but too, Dorian quite found he enjoyed England- terribly so. Such curiosity born from a genuine intrigue in every sense. One distracted only by the presentation of that smaller box as Sebastian took his seat upon the edge of the bed once more. Dorian's hands reached out to gently take that box from the vampire. That faux leather case so adorned with the name of that jewelry store carefully opened, that velvet lining equally as gently parted before that striking bracelet of gold and inlaid diamond was revealed. That soft gasp readily leaving him then as his fingers reached to brush over it. Such an exquisite piece! He hardly remembered such a thing from that store and yet he had been quite absorbed in testing out those fountain pens the pair had shopped so diligently for. How on earth Sebastian had managed to find such a thing without his noticing he hardly knew and yet how pleased he was that he had!

Dorian's fingers reached gently forward then to lift that bracelet from its box. The Monarch turning it about within his hands. His silver gaze drawn to Sebastian's own once more at the vampires simple assertion that such a band did not easily come off. Such words, perhaps, hinting at those written inside the box itself. That grin upon his lips had only brightened all the more in the wake of that gift, his lips pressing to his lovers cheek in that ready affection before those words of thanks found him. This, he was sure, was a truly splendid gift in every sense! One tainted in his most favoured of all colours in turn. That query of just how that bracelet worked however, so readily prompted the Monarch to hold it toward Sebastian once more. Dorian watching with a clear curiosity as Sebastian located that screwdriver before searching for those hidden hinges upon the bracelet itself to open it for him. How clever! Yet too, how readily the use of that screwdriver so indicated the permanency of that very bracelet. Such a thing not at all easy to remove as Sebastian had suggested and yet- it was that very fact that so intrigued the Monarch altogether. Dorian so willingly holding his wrist out then for Sebastian to fasten that bracelet around and re-apply those screws. The Fae King grinning broadly once more as his lover so queried his thoughts. Dorian holding his wrist upward to better examine it.

"I think it suits me terribly well, don't you? It was an excellent choice, Mon Cher, I rather like the idea off how difficult it is to remove. I like that it is forever- like us."

His features softened readily at such an admittance all the same. Dorian content to continue to admire that new bracelet for several more moments still, his fingers once more tracing that gilded surface in clear appreciation.

"I cannot wait to show it to Matteo. Do you know, I have just realised I have not heard from him for over a week? Although when we last spoke he did mention he was to have a guest staying with him shortly. I suspect he is quite busy with that."

Matteo had been inclined, during their time away, to send Dorian that occasional text to ask where he was and how he was enjoying himself, questions Dorian knew the elder Fae likely already had the answers too and yet, the Monarch had rather come to enjoy his Father's attempts at parenting in such a fashion. Dorian near equally as curious as to whom on earth his Father might readily be hosting at his own house. Matteo a notoriously private individual in every sense. The Fae assured he could count on one hand the amount of beings that had ever been inside Chambord whilst Matteo lived there. Such thoughts however, were easily dismissed in the wake of the presentation of that larger box. That utter curiosity tugging fitfully at him once more as he reached for that offered box and ever so curiously begun to unwrap that very parcel.
