Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

The explanation of Troy's powers had fallen on deaf ears. Amelia was too worn out, too drained to do much of anything in this state. She heard that the council had gotten them all and that was all that mattered to her. After at least ensuring that her safety was met for the night, she allowed herself to drift into a deep sleep, her body slowly healing from the bullet wound.

It wasn't until several hours of good sleep had passed that she had awoken only to find that her daughter had crawled into their open bedroom door. The sight was shocking to say the least. It was only a few weeks ago that Tenley was born. And now? Now she was crawling! She was far exceeding her milestones and Amelia couldn't help but wonder if it was because of her unique birth. Dr. Greene had thought that perhaps she would go faster and mature faster than a human child, but she hadn't expected it to be quite this fast.

Her initial reaction was to elbow Troy, wanting him to see first hand that his daughter was crawling. It took him a moment to register just what was happening, but when he did, she saw that he too was just as shocked as she was. Unlike her, he was quick to crawl out of bed and kneel down on the floor before Tenley. She crawled her way towards him and when she reached him, she grabbed his hands and pulled herself into a standing position. She was growing up far too fast.

Amelia yawned as she slowly drew herself out of the bed, stretching before she came to kneel beside Tenley and Troy. She rested her head on Troy's shoulder as he asked their daughter how she managed to get out of her crib. It was then that she could her the nanny calling from the nursery. "We're in here Missy!" The frantic nanny came running and was shocked to see Tenley in their room. "I'm sorry Ms. Marek. I'm not sure how she got in here. I set her on the floor to play with a toy and went to make her morning bottle." Amelia chuckled lightly. "She crawled! I guess it's time to put up the baby gates â€" I thought we had a few more months." The nanny seemed just as shocked, but she nodded her head in agreement. "I'll work on getting those set up today." Amelia had made sure to get enough baby gates for the stairs and their room.

Missy stepped forward, reaching to pick up little Tenley so she could feed her breakfast. "Come now little one, mommy and daddy need to get ready and you need to eat." She whisked the little girl away and only when she shut the door behind her did Amelia sigh softly. "I hope you're ready for a mobile child now." She smiled at him before she slowly stood and stretched again. Her arm still ached, but she had a feeling that just like her leg wound, it would always ache.

She left Troy on the floor before she slipped into the bathroom and turned on the shower. While it was warming up, she slipped Troy's t-shirt over her head, leaving her dressed only in her panties. She stood in front of the mirror as she worked to remove the makeshift bandage from the night before. The wound was mostly healed, but he held a scar that she was sure would never quite go away. "The bullets were coated in nickel...and I'm allergic. I think they were targeting me." Why else would there be nickel plating on a bullet? That was the only logical reason. She knew Troy would have come to stand with her in the bathroom, so she spoke without even looking for him...knowing he was always right there. "Perhaps more people know about Tenley..." The thought that someone was trying to hurt her or Tenley made her shudder. She hated knowing that someone might think ill of her innocent daughter. But, that was a fact of life, she supposed.
