Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

How she relished in the body heat of that large impressive animal, while her own body was so cold as ice itself. She felt its large heart pumping blood through its intricate veins, circulating from that strong heart and throughout her body. She leaned into the creature as if her life depended on it and surprisingly she seemed content enough by her presence to not pull away, it was odd considering the mare was a prey animal and Petra was every ounce a predator.

The even rhythm of that thud, thud, thud sound seemed almost soothing. Like a twisted lullaby in a chaotic mind. She very nearly smiled.

It had been a very long time since she had been so close to a horse, she had almost forgotten how beautiful they were. She began petting it, with shaky hands, running her fingers through her groomed silvery white mane, she smelled like essential oils and that very distinct horse smell she had once known so well, mingling with the scent of fresh pine shavings.

When the lights suddenly flicked on it assaulted her night vision, making her blink rapidly. She entwined her pale fingers into the grey mare's mane for a semblance of comfort. The horse suddenly nickered a friendly greeting to the sound of footsteps, she vibrated from that loud sound. It assaulted her so. Her name was upon a familiar man's lips. It was him.. The man that had destroyed everything that she once was. He was the reason that had made it impossible to hunt, impossible to live. Her existence as she knew it, the one she thrived within was shattered and it was all his doing. She hissed at him allowing her fangs flash, glinting from the piercing light overhead. It only served to irritate her more. She nearly lunged for him, but she was assaulted by such a lovely feeling, like a tender, loving caress that brought utter relief, if only for a moment.

Petra, her name was uttered from his lips once more and all she wanted to do was close her eyes and listen to the horses singing blood. She felt so weak and fragile in comparison to the woman he met in that alley all those moons ago.

"Sebastian.." She said brokenly, even with the tranquil feeling that washed over her she felt that dull signs of anger pressing gently. She wanted to forget the anger, but it was too strong. He did this to her. He made her into this broken, frail thing. He made her feel all these things. All these vile emotions she would much rather live without. It was the reason why she turned it off so long ago, she didn't remember a moment when she embraced such a thing. She tipped her head as she moved slightly away from the horse.. She was out in the light, feet bracing to keep her upright on her own, her complexion taking on that sickly grey pallor. He took a step toward her and she stared at him, blinking at him with large vibrant blue green eyes, something close to confusion lingering within them.

His voice is soft and caring as he asks her how long it has been since she ate. How long has it been? She wondered, she couldn't even remember herself. So many nights.. she had spent at home. Only those few days she attempted, there were so many people. So many emotions it made her sick to her stomach. Just one, that was all she needed. So many people she had stalked but she was unable to kill. In the beginning, she was fine, it was a slow progression into complete and utter starvation. "I.. I don't remember." Her voice sounded so eerie and unsettled, as though she were a dying tree with brittle leaves that threatened to crumble and drift away. "I had one... one.. he tasted so good, but he died. I didn't mean to kill him, I was so hungry, so starving. I brought him back as one of us.. I couldn't bear to look at his face so I let him free. He didn't want to leave me but I couldn't stand it to see his face.. he looked so lost. I don't remember how long its been since then.. I see them.. the humans.. I feel them.. I want them to bleed but I can't I just can't." This is what it means to suffer, she thought she had known it when she was human. But now she was reliving all her tragedies, all her tormenting all over again. She hated it, she hated herself. She hated him.. He made her feel this.

"You did this.." she hissed, although she lacked any kind of real venom behind her words as she finally spoke whilst swaying from weakness. "You made me feel." She couldn't eat, she couldn't torment, couldn't partake in all the things that brought the woman any semblance of entertainment or joy. Hell, she couldn't even sleep during daylight. All she could do was stare at the rays of the sun, sneaking through the window of her home, wishing they would take her.

"I don't want to feel anymore.. make it stop. I hate it." Even with the effects of his power there was such anguish within her words. There was no impish melody, no hint of the woman she once was. She was once a creature of pure power and now she is barely even a spark. "I don't want to think or feel anymore.. I want it all back." Her voice is fading like a whisper in a storm taking place around her.

"Make it stop." Although it is a demand it is a weak one and Sebastian held all the proverbial cards.
