What You'll Find Here

Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Samantha Cassidy

There was only so much time the Fae woman could spend in Sacrosanct before she would have to face running into the one person she knew would be most disappointed in her absence. She knew, just as she had known upon leaving the city in the first place, that he would be upset with her. Or angry, confused, hurt. She truly wasn't sure what myriad of emotions would be unleashed once they saw each other again, though she couldn't deny that she'd thought of him often. She'd hoped that he'd figured out how to navigate the modern world and yet, with Sebastian at his side, Samantha had little doubt that he would have been just fine without her. Despite her initial distrust of the vampire, she'd come to terms with his choice and had almost been willing to attempt meeting him again when Aiden had died, and after that she'd left town with the weight of her guilt on her shoulders alone. As much as she'd wanted Dorian to come along with her, asking him to leave would have been heartbreaking for them both. His loyalty to her was great, perhaps, but love often won out in those sorts of things. And so she'd left, alone, and hadn't been able to bring herself to call.

But that hadn't stopped her from thinking about him. In fact, she'd just dreamed about him nearly a year ago when she'd seen his face on the cover of a magazine. At first, she'd hardly believed the picture she saw of the two men she knew. They were... married? That part... well that part she could believe. She'd felt their emotions when they'd been together. She'd known exactly how they felt about each other. But the fact that it was so... public. And in Italy. Samantha couldn't help but be amused by the idea of Dorian on a plane, she supposed that would have been an interesting conversation. She'd been so pleased by the magazine that she'd bought it, and it had become one of the possessions that she toted from town to town with her. It was one reminder she would allow herself of her old life. To know that Dorian was okay was a great comfort for her.

But now that she was back in Sacrosanct, she was determined to see him. Even if he yelled at her and told her she hated him, she had to at least try to get in contact with him. Samantha had known over the last year that he had been okay, but the same had not been true for him of her. However, as she realized with the newfound celebrity of her former best friend, it wasn't as simple as dropping in unannounced - though, she would have loved to surprise him. Surprise, it would seem, would give him less of an opportunity to turn her away. Samantha was sure that he would accuse her of violating some social decorum with her hasty departure, and she half expected he'd turn her away in anger. But she had to take a chance, and as such, she'd found herself making an official appointment to see His Royal Highness, and all she could do was hope that he'd actually see her.

And so, on the morning of her appointment, Samantha found herself standing in the foyer of a mansion in Anacosta Heights feeling remarkably uncomfortable. The lavish building was certainly out of her comfort zone - though she knew this was exactly the type of place that Dorian would feel most at home. How far he'd come from her one bedroom apartment. From that to this. Servants and people to see to his every need. Samantha couldn't help the small smile that broke out at the thought of that. He must be so happy.

Samantha was hardly given any time to dwell upon these thoughts as a man - who introduced himself to her as Charles - appeared, ready to direct her out of the foyer and into a decorated parlor where he instructed her to sit and wait. "Thank you, Charles," Samantha said politely, smoothing out the blue dress she'd worn for the occasion. It was certainly more modest than her usual clothing. Despite their previously close relationship, Samantha had put effort into her appearance today. Dorian's previous instructions seemed to flood back to her as she took a moment to steady herself. Head up, back straight. She was only as important as she thought she was, and yet this room and this mansion had a way of making her feel small. As Charles started off to fetch the master of the house, Samantha couldn't help the tiny smile that appeared on her lips.

"Charles? Can you please let him know that the Queen of Narnia would like a word with him?"
