Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

It's not the long walk home that will change this heart, but the welcome I receive after the restart.

His phone buzzed away in the plush pocket of his robe. His men had responded to his inquiry about needing the car, and it now sat outside on the curb, waiting for Miya. But Dareios ignored it, instead focusing his gaze intently on her. Her stare, in return, was squirmy. It was abundantly clear to the vampire that Miya was incredibly uncomfortable in this moment. He hoped she was just still processing all of this. It was a lot, he knew, especially in her ailing physical state. Being a vampire, he was all too keenly aware of how dehydrated and hungover she was. But still, he was intent on leaving some kind of lasting impression.

Dareios offers her a simper of a smile as she remarks at the temperature of his body. He lets his gaze fall to the floor then, and he shrugs his shoulders briefly as he lifts his head to look at her again. His palm is pressed against hers on the side of his face, until she finally pulls away. The vampire then takes a step back, balling his hands into light fists and slipped them into the pockets of his robe. His brows furrow as Miya begins to speak again. He isn't surprised in the slightest by what she says next. "You're not alone..." He says in response, his voice trailing off. For too long, the supernatural community lived under a ruse. They hid who they really were from the human race, for fear of violent repercussions. But over the centuries, their numbers grew. Technology helped connect them all, and they realized, collectively, that there was power in numbers. "But I, unfortunately, can't change who I am, or what I am."

The older Dareios became, the more discipline he developed over the urges that plagued his undead makeup. For so long, he couldn't control the instincts he inherited when he was turned. But now, hundreds of years later, he felt like he had a stronghold over it, at least most of the time.

"You don't have to apologize Miya. I understand I've just dumped a lot on you." He says with yet another sheepish grin. His phone buzzes in his pocket again, and this time he retrieves it. "Listen, there's a car outside waiting to take you home. Why don't you go, get some rest. And if you have a change of heart, maybe I can take you to dinner sometime."

The vampire is leaning gently against the wall now, his expression mostly defeated. "You know where to find me."
