Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

... i don't ask for a lot, nothing more than i need, because i love what i've got ...

How wonderfully strange life could be at times when one might least expect it. Just four or five weeks ago, she had been wandering across the world, carefree and entirely unsure of where it was she was going. In a way, the were woman had been very much like a leaf on the breeze. With only enough of her belongings that would fit in the back of her little hatchback and a heart and soul open wholly to whatever it was that Fate and Fortune bring her way, she drifted from place to place. She'd been accustomed to making a temporary settlement in some comfortable, cozy hotel for an undetermined number of days or weeks and getting work where she could to afford the essentials. And, even with the modest vagabond lifestyle the were woman led which had her hardly staying in one place for very long, she'd always made sure that time was made to experience new things and forge new friendship in any who might let her into their world. It had been a nearly perfect way for her to live, loving and laughing every moment that she could, adding chapter after chapter to that worn photo album of all the adventures she wanted to remember for the rest of her life. Then, the soft hand of Fate reached out to her in the form of a small rural town where there had likely been ten times the number of cows, sheep, and horses when compared to the human population. During her travels, Ren couldn't recall having found another were in any other place she'd been until Dovecrest. It had been, as with all her other encounters, pure happenstance that she found the old couple. That morning, she'd gone to the only local diner there, curious about the grilled salmon benedict she'd seen listed as that day's special. Yes, it seemed only suiting that it would be something small yet altogether new which would serve as the catalyst to her new journey As she'd been thoroughly enjoying her breakfast, Ren discovered a help wanted ad in the local newspaper she'd purchased from the stand just outside the diner, an elderly couple seeking someone willing to assist in the sheering of their sheep. Of course, the were woman hadn't ever done such a thing, but what better time to learn than the present? Besides, she'd always wanted a chance to play with lambs! So, after paying for her meal and having obtained some generously given directions by one of the diner's waitresses, the were woman drove further into the countryside looking for the rustic, red farmhouse that would be the figurative prologue to a brand new adventure unlike anything she would have imagined.

Ren can still remember so vividly how that small farm had been nestled among a grove of apple trees, the sweet scent of those fruits very much tantalizing. She'd driven down the long, graveled driveway, parked next to the old Chevy truck, and no sooner than she'd stepped out of her own car and closed the door had she been met by the two elders.

The woman, Evangeline, had been a small woman, smaller even than the were woman's mother... but, oh, how kind and warm her face had been! Her husband, tall with broad and powerful shoulders despite his age, had introduced himself as Darren. His eyes had been a deep hue of amber that reminded Ren of a warm fireplace, so unique and yet she had seen years of wisdom there within those depths. Immediately, both the elders and the were woman knew what the other was, that rather innate and instinctive ability to identify kin effortless in that moment. They'd been surprised and even a bit wary at first of her, but it had been short-lived once she'd introduced herself and explained how it was she'd discovered them. Just like that, unlikely strangers quickly became friendly acquaintances. And, after she and Darren had tended to the sheep, the were woman entirely grateful for the elder male's patience as he taught her what she needed to know before the pair set out to the barn where the flock had been rounded up, Evangeline had extended a warm invitation to Ren, asking if the were woman would like to stay for dinner. Naturally, the were woman had eagerly accepted, entirely thrilled that she'd found other weres and equally as curious about how it was they'd come to settle within those rolling hills of Dovecrest. The threesome had enjoyed a homecooked meal of chicken pot pie, cornbread, and freshly picked vegetables from the garden the elder woman was very much proud of. Ren had shared the stories of her adventures, told them about how it was she'd ended up in Dovecrest, and in turn, the elder couple told her their own story. In this conversation and forging of friendship, it had been Evangeline who told Ren of a city far from where they were. Sacrosanct. The were woman had listened with profound interest and awe as the elder spoke of how it was a place where she'd been born, having lived there for a most of her childhood until her own parents had moved away in search of a quieter home, but what had captivated Ren more than anything was how the elder woman said it had been a place where all races resided. Never had Ren dared to think that there was a place on earth where all walks of life lived among one another, and it had been that night when the were woman knew... Even now, she couldn't explain it as anything more than Fate. It was a feeling somewhere deep within her heart and soul, like a compass pointing North, that called to Ren. She couldn't describe it then, only knowing that she very nearly needed to journey there. It had been more than her natural curiosity, stronger than her sense of adventure, deeper than any desire to experience something she had yet to thus far in her life. Somehow, beyond any of her understanding, it had felt as though there was something waiting there for her in that place she'd never been.

And yet, even when she had finally made her way across hundreds and hundreds of miles and to the embrace of Sacrosanct, Ren never would have thought that this was where she would be, with her few belongings settled among the belongings of others she now called not only her friends...but also her newfound roommates.

Ocean-blue eyes glance at the clock hanging above the television, the petite woman sitting on the couch wrapped up in her favorite worn grey hoodie while wearing black pajama pants with white paw prints scattered across the fleece material...It's really late... shouldn't he be home by now?... The were woman flicks idly through the channels, trying to busy herself with something at least somewhat interesting. Finally, she settles for a nature documentary. The truth was, Bo hadn't been home for dinner, and as silly as it sounded, the were woman was worried about him. The man was so... quiet and withdrawn, that heaviness hanging over his heart entirely felt by Ren. Yes, he had begun opening up to her and the two huntresses she shared one of the rooms upstairs with, but she still wasn't entirely satisfied simply for the fact that she yearned to see him smile more. She'd made a chicken casserole that Raven, Mayuza, and herself and enjoyed earlier, but when the dark hunter hadn't turned up, the were woman had put his share along with the rest of the leftovers away in several of the glass Tupperware containers and set them in the fridge where he'd easily see it. The hours went by, though, and when 11:00pm came and went, she began to wonder if something might have happened to him. Perhaps it was her intuition, some unseen tendril that connected them straining against his unusual absence, or some instinct buried within her were heritage... but whatever it was, the were woman felt like something had happened, keeping him from coming home. She glances over to the twins, wondering if perhaps they might be worried as well, though still she had yet to truly understand the rather aloof women, something that was definitely a top priority on her list of things she wanted to accomplish sooner rather than later. Then, she feels the phone in her pocket vibrate. Immediately, Ren reaches with a slender hand into the front pocket of her hoodie and unlocks the screen, seeing that it was a text from Bo. Wasting hardly a moment, she clicks into the message, ocean-blue eyes glittering brightly."Raven! May! Bo's on his way home with a new friend!", she calls out, hardly hiding the relief and excitement that allows her to finally take an easy breath. She'd been so close to going upstairs, changing out of her pajamas, and scouring the city for her lost friend, but thankfully that no longer seemed necessary. Sending a reply text reading 'Sure thing, I'll whip up something :)', the were woman practically skips into the kitchen. What would be quick and easy? Spaghetti! Who didn't want pasta for a midnight snack?"I'm making spaghetti, hope you're hungry again, ladies", she calls out over her shoulder, giggling brightly to herself as she begins gathering a pot for the noodles, a skillet for the ground beef, a strainer, and cooking utensils before in turn gathering the ingredients she'd need.

It doesn't take long for the food to cook, the rich aromas of tomato sauce, seasonings, and sizzling beef permeating the townhouse as she prepares this midnight meal for the new friend they would be making tonight. She hums a little tune to herself as she works, swishing her hips along with the melody as she finishes putting everything together.

With the food ready and left on the stove to keep warm, the were woman moves to large bay window, sensitive ears listening for the distinct sound of Bo's vehicle. Sitting in leather swivel chair that happened to be her favorite place for napping and sun-bathing, she waits about as patiently as she can manage. Slender fingers run through long, silken ebony hair as she strains her senses, nearly leaping out of her seat to peak out the window at the sound of a car slowing down, coming closer to the townhouse. Peeking through the curtains, she sighs with a slight pouty expression as she realizes it was just the next-door neighbors. Nearly having to force herself to sit back into the soft leather chair, she again tries to watch the television, the narrator going on about a rather beautiful tropical forest and a particularly beautiful bird that resided there. However, it doesn't last long when headlights shine through the linen curtains, and this time, she was entirely certain that it was Bo and the new face he was bringing home with him, the sound of car doors closing confirming that the dark hunter was home. She practically leaps from her chair now, making her way to the front door. As she hears footsteps just on the other side, she turns the knob and opens the door to see Bo's hazel gaze bright with surprise."Bo! I'm so glad you're home!", she says brightly, fully prepared to throw her slender frame towards the dark hunter in the form of a tackle-hug, which was one of the were woman's signature hugs. He turns himself, though, and immediately, ocean-blue eyes find a face she recognizes. There'd been several nights rather recently that the were woman had spent with the young human male. Ever the observant creature, she sees the fresh bruises darkening around her friend's neck, and instinctively, she feels a wave of protectiveness rush over her. So, there had been trouble, but not intended for Bo. If only she hadn't been busy unpacking the few boxes she had upstairs, she might have been there to keep her unnamed friend safe... It was Bo's voice that banishes those thoughts of hers, the hunter giving her the younger man's name."Hi, Tipsy!", she says sweetly, beaming a radiant smile before she immediately throws her arms around him, albeit carefully since she had yet to determine just how hurt he may be, and the last thing she wanted was to cause him more pain."It's so nice to see you again", she adds to her initial greeting, hugging him as tightly as concern for his well-being would allow her. When she pulls away, she steps back into the townhouse and moves aside."Come on, you two, food's ready to eat. I made spaghetti since I didn't know how long it would be before you got here", she explains, waiting for them before closing the door. Moving around the men, she makes her way to the kitchen, preparing to set out plates and forks.
