Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Walk me home in the dead of night
I can't be alone with all that's on my mind

It was delightfully easy to talk with the hunter as the pair exited their shared apartment building, sure it was largely what could be labeled 'small talk', but there was something thrilling about feeling as if she was getting to know Alistair better. The pair walked in comfortable conversation discussing everything from hobbies to their shared experience in that archaic institution. She laughed in commiseration at his realization that they had both been sent off to such schools. "Yeah, why have kids if you can't send them away for most of the year." She remembered distantly the feeling that her parents were glad to be rid of her for months on end, that odd feeling of not being good enough prickling at the back of her neck before she swallowed it down once more. She was happy to shift the conversation to her the hunter's sister. It didn't escape her notice that he brought her up quite frequently, and she smiled at the idea of her hosting a dinner party simply because she wanted to meet her. "I'd like that." Her smile flashed brighter at the idea of meeting someone who he was so obviously close to. Would she have been as close with her sister if things had played out differently? A thought not worth dwelling on at the moment as they exited onto the street.

Thankfully the hunter was nothing if not a master of conversation it seemed, his attention turning to how her work had been going with the New Ark christened and reopened for business. Work was a different kind of bliss, the calm that came with being endlessly busy and seeing the hours simply melt away surrounded by the people she considered some of her closest friends. The Ark had always drawn a crowd, violence and the supernatural piquing the interest of the masses, and with the new ships appeal the crowds showed not indication of waning anytime soon. She relayed as much to him, knowing that he of all people might be uniquely aware of how she needed that hustle and bustle in her life. Besides, it was a delicious juxtaposition to quiet strolls down the street with her neighbor.

The conversation dropped temporarily as they approached the café, a glance given to the familiar book shop she frequented across the street before they slipped through the door with a light bell chime. Perhaps the name of the establishment and the feline-themed accents on the sign should have been a good indication of what to expect within, but it was not until her blue-green eyes alight on the windows at the far side of the room and the furry animals within. Perhaps it's a bit of an over-reaction, considering that she does have her own cat at home, but the unexpected appearance of those whiskered faces triggered something in her that had her grasping the deliciously muscled arm of her companion. She couldn't think too hard about how sturdy he felt under her grip, releasing her hold on him as he asked that open ended question about going into the cat room. Her excitement was palpable no doubt as she eagerly gave her answer, able to compromise enough that they could at least get coffee and pastries first.

Relief coursed through her as he accepted, reassuring her that he wasn't allergic as she has temporarily feared. Another part of her breathed a sigh of relief at that information, it might have made things... awkward down the line if it ever came to that. It didn't escape her notice that she was dangerously close to thinking about spending more and more time with Alistair, unable to deny that she truly enjoyed his company from the easy conversation to the way his presence had quieted something in her on the beach all those months ago. She shoved the thought down, enjoying the time they were spending together now too much to get caught up in what might be; instead following the hunter up to the counter as he ordered. "Can I get a mochaccino and a red velvet cupcake, please." She offered a light smile as she went to dig her card out of her jeans, glancing over to see Alistair doing the same. She laughed softly, holding her card up at the same time he successfully pulled his wallet from his jacket as well.

For a moment she nearly blushed at his willingness to pay and what that might possible mean before she considered doing the socially awkward dance of who should pay, and feminism vs chivalry, etc etc. Instead, she chose to offer to quirk one eyebrow upwards as her smile widened "Next rounds on me?" Pocketing her card once more she watched Alistair pay before the barista moved to fetch their drink and the baked goods from the display. "Thank you for buying." Her voice dropped slightly as she turned back to her companion offering him a small smile and a wink as she said. "And let me know what I have to do in order to steal a bite of that pumpkin bread."
