Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

i'm not ashamed of my scars, i'm ashamed of the world for not understanding.

Some people lived to cause pain and agony for others and some, like Raven, never wanted to cause anyone to be upset in the first place. When she was a kid it had grown from a habit into a basic function to keep herself alive. It was understood, in her mind, that if she did not anger or upset anyone then she would be okay, she would be safe. It didn't do her well when she was little to upset anyone within the pack. Things didn't go well for her and so she learned how not to not be a problem. She kept quiet. She obeyed what was demanded from her. Even though she didn't live in that sort of harmful environment anymore, that did not mean this source of survival habit could be broken. To hear that she had done something incorrectly by the black-haired witch, seemed quite improbable, because as the book said about familiar's she had done well. It did not occur to her that Serafina was wanting something more out of her familiar. If looks could actually kill then Serafina's hateful glare would have ended her life right here and now.

Retreating to what she knew in these particular situations when she had done something wrong, she lowered her head and averted her gaze. Highly uncomfortable she wanted to do nothing more than tuck her tail between her legs and run somewhere dark, somewhere cozy, desiring nothing more than to hide right now. The powerful frustration, the raw rage, and infuriating anger all coiled within the raven-haired witch, caused the werewolf's enhanced empathy to force the uncomfortable girl to let out a soft whimper, falling back to her canine state in order to try and alleviate the anger she was feeling. It worked when she was a pup, to exploit her canine ability and attempt to sway those that were upset around her, to calm down, wishing nothing more than things to go back to normal. Softly she speaks attempting to explain herself, barely lifting her eyes up to Serafina, afraid that she would do something wrong again.

"Whenever I'm around you, I do not feel your approval of my presence. You've never seemed to want me around, so I stayed away, and I only came when I felt you were in trouble. I am supposed to protect you from threats â€" Azrael is one â€" but if you could have explained that he cares for you...I could have worked on it. But if you wanted a friend, why did you not say so?"

For a moment she looks away from the witch and back to the glass that contained the purple liquid. She did not feel like she deserved to lose her role as a familiar to Serafina. Truthfully she thought she had done the right things, but it was quite obvious now that she did not do the correct things in Serafina's terms. With a somber soft sigh she reached for the glass and stared at the contents for a moment, her mind jumping from one thought to the next. Shaking her head, with a not-so timid voice as before, her somber gaze would hold onto the accusatory gaze of the witch.

"I knew there was something different, but I couldn't pinpoint. Did you ever think maybe I wanted to connect with you too? I just thought I was doing what was right, keeping you safe, but also staying away from you. But now I see I haven't done what you wanted me to do, I never meant to hurt and disappoint you."
