South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Dorian AragonaHis Royal Highness

It is not difficult to see the embarrassment of a woman, not even when she is a wolf, her gaze so averting his own as her paws trod in a nervous fashion upon the earth at those compliments he so paid towards her form- his words holding no falsified flattery. After all, they were entirely true, wolves were noble creatures in the surest sense even if they were so often cast as the villain in the same manner as the fox or the raven despite the importance of their place in the world. Dorian pausing only then to consider that Raven's very name too seemed to be an ill omen. His features frowning softly in contemplation of the poor naming choices her parents had so cast upon her at her birth. As if they wished to bring ill fortune upon her in some fashion. He allows such thoughts to pass all the same, fingers stroking that silvered and ebony fur before he finds those words touching his mind once more in the most curious of powers, gaze returning to the wolf despite the manner in which she looked away from him. Dorian hardly unused to others keeping their gaze below his own as a matter of protocol and as such he finds no issue with it.

"It is curious, with wolves, people do often cast them to be the villain and yet they too cast their image upon their shields or banners or gates. They use the very creature they fear as a mascot of themselves because they admire it in turn. One only displays disdain for something they admire when they are jealous. Thereby I think they are jealous of you."

He smiles easily once more fingers continuing to run over that soft fur that became rougher in parts though the Monarch hardly commented as the wolf seemed to lean momentarily into his touch. How difficult it was not to ruffle her ears like a house pet when she behaved as one! His memory of that insult he has so caused last time however sees the man restrain any further budding desires to offer the wolf affection the way one did a dog. Dorian moving to stand and so make his way back towards his steed now, offering the woman some explanation in the animal, eyeing the way in which she dipped her head towards it as if she anticipated it might bow in return- a soft simper so adorning his features at this exchange though Nikoli offered very little by way of return conversation. The stallion far more interested in the pockets of grass that so satisfied his urges to graze. It was a pleasing thing indeed that the horse remained unbothered by the canine, Dorians own gaze lingering upon the wolf a moment longer at his own mention of those perhaps less then accepted choices he himself was only just now learning to vocalize beneath this new word of 'boyfriend'. A title the man had previously never heard off. The sudden sharp turn of the wolfs head momentarily sees something almost akin to fear stir within the man- fearing what he might very well see upon her features else hear within her words. The very notion of sexuality always had been quite the point of contention within his own time and even though Samantha had assured him such things had changed the man had never truly tested those words upon another. After all- they had been a death sentence once. It is only that swing of the wolfs tail and indeed that look of simple acceptance of such a thing, as if wholly unbothered, that at last returns that smile to his lips in contentment. Her words pulling at his thoughts as he swung onto the horses back.

"He will not tread on you, he is a gentleman."

Dorian offers the words with decided conviction as if the very personality of the horse was at his discretion to know and yet he was assured of it all the same, horses so rarely clumsy though it was perhaps not unusual to the wolf to find disdain in the equine. They were not, by nature, designed to find harmony without the guidance of man between them. Ravens assurance that she understood is met with his own nod, Dorian so effortlessly swinging the horse to follow before the wolf breaks into a run, Dorian holding back the stallion for several strides to allow the wolf her space before setting the horse to follow. The ebony creature easily navigating that rough terrain with far more skill then Dorian himself could have ever hoped himself. Ah, but how he had missed this! The sudden press of words into his mind abruptly sees the Fae swing the horse effortlessly around in the direction he was assured the wolf would come from, sending Nikoli cantering forward just as that rabbit burst from the undergrowth with the wolf in pursuit. It is easy then to send the horse after it, Dorian unsure, truly, as to how well the animal had been trained for this and yet he is content enough to take his chances- laying the reins flat against the animals neck in that unspoken command to simply gallop straight ahead without guidance. He reaches then so effortlessly for that bow and arrow he had acquired- his weapon of choice in all those years outside that sword he often carried.

It is with those centuries of skill that the man so effortlessly balances upon the galloping horse, taking that arrow and drawing it back. Rabbits were notably precarious prey, prone to bolting to either side at a moment's notice, Dorian content to take that chance the moment it is presented to him as the rabbit briefly aligns with his own path. It is not as entirely a perfect shot as he would have desired, yet he had been without practice in some centuries now- his arrow slicing across the rabbits hind limb and sending it tumbling from its feet with the impact of that wound. His hand reaches readily for the reins once more, slowing Nikoli again, allowing space for Raven to fall upon the wounded creature before it could rise again.

"Kill it as cleanly as you can."

A mauled rabbit would be off no use to anyone, the man assured the wolf was capable of simply puncturing its neck in some fashion as he pulls the stallion further back and allows the wolf to work unhindered. He swings easily from the excitable horse a moment later, instructing the animal to stay as commanded before wandering towards the wolf and the now limp rabbit within his jaws.

"Ah, excellent Raven, you are most exceptional."

Dorian is easy with his praise as he is in all things, holding his hands out for the lifeless rabbit to take from her. It is quite a good size too, Dorian easily lifting it upward- eyeing it almost curiously a moment. How very....dull it seemed, at least, in comparison to how....bright the wolf whom had held it. Ah, but what a perfectly stupid thing to think, bright and dull! A rabbit was a rabbit, the sun merely shone on the wolfs fur this was all, the rabbit within the shade as he took it from her. It is almost instantaneous, that feeling, something seeming to seize him in that moment as he took the dead creature from her, surprise registering within his gaze before the Fae suddenly found himself almost unsteady upon his feet, his head shaking in an effort to clear his gaze- god why was everything so...bright. The Fae so oblivious that he alone could see that glow surrounding the creature now.

"Raven do you see.....oh...oh! It's not dead, Raven the rabbit isn't dead! Raven! Raven! Help!"

The rabbit had very near rolled within his hands, the animal lunging wildly in every direction as Dorian made some effort to cling to it still as it leaped about and failed wildly, so entirely full of life despite those wounds to its neck and the way it had been so dead moments ago. Dorian struggling still to hold it in his surprise before at last simply letting go of the creature entirely as it leaped to the ground, racing away from them and yet the further the creature seemed to travel the weaker it seemed to grow once more. The rabbit barely several feet from them, Dorian eyeing it utterly wide-eyed as it seemed to stumble and trip as if.....it was dying all over again. His voice entirely quite now, almost....horrified.

"Raven what is wrong with it?'
