South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

we built this city on broken glass

It was a rare thing in every sense for the equine to offer but any mentions of that past he had left behind. Frost a notoriously private being and one rarely inclined to dwell upon those past facets off his life or that which he had survived. The emotions so connected to that time within his existence were....difficult, both to understand and process all at once. A part of the stallion almost loath to consider them as if he near feared so having to feel but any of that which connected him to those very memories and yet- why should Nadya be denied the knowledge she sought? Nadya was his girlfriend. The first being outside his Mother he held but any true affection for. The man unwilling to deny her that trust of sorts that so surely came with sharing that tale. Frost so hardly one to waste time on idle words in any sense. The stallion, instead, offering that tale near directly. His voice so forced into that emotionless placidity- as if he was hardly affected by that tale any longer or those things he had felt during those years. It was....easier to pretend, after all, rather than face those very things. Frost wholly aware of Nadya's hand tightening within his mane as he offered those words to her mind. The end of that story bringing about only a few moments of pause before Nadya asked after his Mother. That faintest of simpers finding the stallions lips in that moment as they pressed onward and further across that rugged plain. Nadya, above all, was a Mother herself. That question, he knew, surely brought forward by considerations off her own children and yet Frost hardly questioned such a thing. Rather, he merely let those words press back into her mind once more.

"I told no one except my Mother. She knew what I planned to do. She knew I would come back one day."

It had been....years and yet for all he was, Frost was so hardly the sought of being inclined to give his word callously. He had promised his Mother he would return- and so he would. Even if it had surely taken him far longer then they had both believed. The pair receiving word of each other, through the occasional Werehorse, over those past years. To return with Nadya at his side would be a surprise and yet Frost hardly found himself concerned for what his mother might think of Nadya. A part of him near....assured she would find favour in his girlfriend, even if her species might prove something of a....surprise. Such thoughts, for now, were brushed aside. Frost hardly choosing to dwell on them as he made his way down that slope and onto the volcanic plains that would bring them out to that black sand beach he had chosen for their first camping location. That flat, open space near demanding an increase in pace from the stallion. Those equine urges stronger then his human desires in that moment. Frost waiting only so long as it took for him to be assured Nadya was ready before that trot surged forward into a sweeping canter- his legs relishing in that opportunity to stretch as they did and near fly across that field. Nadya, so unfortunately, forced to endure his mane flying into her with the motion and yet she so hardly uttered a complaint. Frost slowing at last, once he was satisfied with that canter, to carry them at a far more sensible pace across that plain.

The sun had fallen low in the horizon by the time they reached that bay. The threat of the night and the added cold prompting Frost to mention that very fire. The sooner they started it the sooner they could keep that chill at bay. Nadya quick to insight it was the fires creation she preferred to tent construction. That faintest of chuckles humming within the depths off his throat as Nadya saw to unloading that saddle before lifting it from his back entirely. The war horse stepping forward several strides before easing backward in that rather elaborate stretch. A groan of satisfaction upon his lips before his violet gaze lingered upon those clothes Nadya had taken to laying out for him. That simple....care so once more tugging at him. Those small gestures so decidedly....meaningful, even if he so often hardly knew how to return them. That shift overcame him readily then. That equine skin dropped in return for his human form. Frost quick to reach for that clothing in an effort to prevent his body cooling entirely too much. His stomach readily growling in hunger. That very journey and too- that near constant use off his own heating power so having drained his energy readily. That tent however, was surely more of a priority.

Frost worked easily, methodically, tents and their creation a task he was more than familiar with. Those poles and canvas set easily into place as that fire roared into life behind him. Nadya, it seemed, perhaps more capable then he had truly given her credit for. The heat of that fire lessening his own need to use only more off his own power. That warmth on his side decidedly pleasing. That tent was finished a few moments later. Frost quick to place their belongings inside it lest the chill of the night see that ice form atop them. The stallion laying several blankets down on the ground outside for Nadya to sit before fishing that food from within. Nadya, he was sure, would grow tired of that dried meat before long in near the same fashion he would grow bored off his own meals. That apple raised to his lips then before he eased his own form down onto that blanket, a final bag passed toward Nadya- this one container that coffee and powdered milk. After all, some luxuries were surely required. Frost content to allow his girlfriend to see to boiling that water as he bit again into that apple. The sweet taste wholly appealing. That rest equally so. Frost already feeling that tiredness tugging at his eyes and yet- he was near determined to allow Nadya to see that very phenomenon he was sure would occur tonight. That increasing darkness so hardly disappointing them.

Those colours near erupted across the sky but several moments later. The water below, made darker still by that black sand, readily reflected those lights all the more until that entire plain and mountain and river were near awash in that kaleidoscope of colour the Northern Lights alone were capable of producing. Frost's own gaze lifted upward then, watching as Nadya made her way to the bank of the river if only to get closer to them. That simple awe upon her features entirely....satisfying to him in turn. After all he....enjoyed bringing that look to he features. He enjoyed sharing his home with her even if it was, perhaps, not upon ideal designs. Her question prompting that soft shake off his head as she made her way back toward him to sit down beside him once more.

"No, not every night. Conditions have to be just right for them to occur. We were lucky tonight. In my religion, those lights are the shine from the armour of the valkyries. Do you know about valkyries, Naja? They are female warriors who ride winged white horses. When a mortal man dies in battle, the valkyries ride down and carry his soul to Valhalla, you would call it heaven. Odin, waits for them there to welcome them to the afterlife and to help him prepare for Ragnarok. When we see the Northern Lights, we say the valkyries are riding. I have missed seeing them."

His gaze flickered but briefly away from the lights above and toward his girlfriend once more. Any mention off his own religion as rarely offered as those tales of the past and yet he was hardly opposed to....sharing those very things with Nadya. Frost decidedly at home within that land and indeed he near desired to share those things in turn with the woman he loved. Even if he so hardly knew just how to tell her those very words. That sudden query on whether or not they could come back one day so prompting that nod off his own head. Those cool, easy lyrics falling from his lips once more.

"I don't know how all this will turn out and yet this.....is my home. I do not truly believe I could ever leave it with no plan to return. I would find a way, safe of otherwise."

Iceland was a large place. A remote place. Even if things were to go....poorly, even if that country was no longer truly safe for them to return there was every chance they could find some remote corner to visit. Some place they would not be looked for. Frost near assured it could be done. Yet.....how unfortunate it would be to have to exist in such a fashion. Perhaps, somehow, they could work out another plan. The stallion inclined to consider his own thoughts than before that sudden mention of a child so seemed to stir him from the confines off his own mind. Those violet eyes lifted upward to meet Nadya's own again. Her desire for more children, it seemed, still at the forefront of her thoughts. That insistence that she would desire any child of theirs be given a chance to see that land prompting that near....softening off his features. How much that meant.

"I would like that too. In truth, I would like us to....live here for awhile. I know it is not possible, at least not any time soon but, one day- perhaps."

His own shoulders lifted in something of a shrug. Frost nothing if not practical and indeed hardly a man inclined to frivolous dreams. If, one day, they had a child of their own he would....desire to raise it within Iceland- at least for a year or two and yet that cold, he knew, would hardly suit Nadya in any sense. There was every chance too that such a child might be born a feline in turn and find disdain for the cold the same way its mother did. Frost content, for now, to allow such idle thoughts to pass. An entirely different consideration so given to find him in that moment as he lent but easily toward the woman beside him. His lips pressing to her cheek in that near sweet kiss before he let his lips drift slightly lower to brush against her jaw and down her neck in a near teasing gesture. Frost shifting near suddenly on that blanket to easily sweep Nadya into his arms only to let her tumble, gently, back against that blanket. Frost more then content to lean over her now. Those very lights above to catching within his own near white hair as he leant forward once more to let his lips find her own in that far more intimate kiss. That taste of her lips, as always, a truly appealing sensation. His lips pulled back from her own just enough to offer those teasing words.

"You know, I would hardly be opposed to trying for that family here and now......"
