Some fear fire, but I've become it.
Mira had expected the look of blatant surprise upon her boyfriend's face, a small little quirk of her lips lingered even as she said those very words. She couldn't help the laugh that erupted from her, golden eyes nearly glowing molten, her shoulders softly shaking as she shook her head, halted when her laughter faded sweetly. She eyed her puzzled alpha, not bothering to elaborate just yet. The look on his face matched his singular question.. That was hardly a question at all. The she-wolf clearly betraying her awfully long memory. "You did.." She confirmed once more with a confident aptitude as if it were common knowledge. Did he even know? She wondered if they even they both were on the same page... on what classified as their first date and yet did it truly matter? "I have a very good memory.. you can say." She rose her free hand to lightly tap her temple as if all those memories were stored like a rolodex. That memory that clung to all kinds of details, filed away. While it was quite a photographic memory her attention to detail was impressive to say the least. How there were many moments with Tetradore before they were officially dating that she remembered with near perfect clarity. Moments she was certain he might as well have forgotten. How could she forget what he wore the moment where she knew beyond any doubt that she wanted him? "I guess that makes it some hoodie, huh?" The she-wolf added with a near teasing lilt, along with that hint of amusement.
It wasn't long before the couple happily abandoned the mall that bustled with activity for something far quieter. How relief flooded them both! Even though they had enjoyed their time, spending a whole day shopping was not a desire either being possessed. Especially when it was near a crime to have such a car parked in that parking lot without driving it upon these foreign streets. It hardly mattered what roads they were, Tetradore drove with the same assurance. She could not deny the way her heart raced when she pressed the pedal to the floor, when the acceleration pushed her back into her seat. The way they sped at those breakneck speeds she enjoyed. What could she say? She was a bit of an adrenaline junkie. How that confident strut of hers was all but interrupted as they left the mall... blasted with a harsh cold breeze that nearly took her breath away. Her exposed skin bitten with that cutting cold that nearly ripped a shiver from her in a manner of seconds. The leather of her new jacket might have protected her in part but her poor unprotected legs, and the invasiveness of that wind that cooled her thighs! Why did women do this? If not for the her affinity for lava, it would have been nearly unbearable. That desire to have Tetradore bring the car around for her grew increasingly by the second.. Mercifully, her lava seemed to respond to the cold assault! She refused to admit that she had made a grave error simply because she liked the way he looked at her when she wore that forsaken skirt.
She moved brisk necessity, almost tempted to break out into a jog. Fortunately, it only felt longer than it actually took. The couple approached a teenage boy who seemed to take it upon himself to pose with Tetradore's car. She could understand the appeal. Even parked, it seemed to command attention, just like the man who owned it. Mira was unable to help the amused sound that escaped her when Tetradore purposely made that vehicle beep, the sharp noise causing the male to react like one would a jump scare. His eyes darted around wildly like the cops were on his trail before putting distance between him and that Lamborghini. The poor guy looked like was going to make a run for it, but stole a discreet glance toward her boyfriend as if he couldn't help his own curiosity to see whose could have owned it. Most people found the need almost irresistible to see who could own and drive such a powerful car. There was no mistaking that look of complete awe upon his boyish face, his jaw hung as if it dislocated. Then there was a hard look of determination before he disappeared within the sea of cars. She knew that look. The look of someone that said.. That one day... that was going to be him. "I think you made yourself a fan." Mira spoke once they mercifully found themselves within the shelter of that vehicle.. It was fortunate that Tetradore took little time to heat up that car, as if to save her from her own mistake.
"Remind me never to wear a skirt when its so damn cold..." She grumbled with a frown that settled upon her features, hugging herself, her nose wrinkled.. Before it shifted to one of mild concern. When they pulled out of that parking spot.... That parking lot seemed increasingly more like deathtrap for pretty cars... and pedestrians. People were obliviously frantically looking for spots, driving like mindless zombies in need for the closest spot. Tetradore hardly seemed perturbed as he navigated quickly and seamlessly around them as he anticipated and avoided some of the worst drivers she had ever seen! Well... with the exception of... his father. That crash all but burned for eternity within her mind.
The moment they were well and truly clear of that heart attack inducing parking lot, he floored it, as she anticipated. That car all but devoured the road, even though she knew all too well how... fast it was capable of. He had a look of calm purpose when he drove, probably one he was unaware of. It was almost like he found peace within his connection with his cars as those speed limits were more like guidelines to him. Then again, with his status... they basically were.
She soaked in warmth that blasted from the vents just as she did the sights as they drove, a happy sigh upon her lips. She almost felt greedy taking in all she could in the limited time they were here. Not squandering a single thing. That was when they came across the sight of the Bugatti dealership. How she knew that name was like the man's kryptonite. Perhaps he planned it all along? Or maybe, ust maybe they were like two magnets.. Destined for one another. She could hardly help the cryptic chuckle that escaped her just as they slid into the parking lot. That car that was proudly on display behind the glass was impossible to ignore. It wasn't like anything she had ever seen.. There wasn't a question that it would have been a sin to pass up on what might as well have been a sign from the gods!
The smile that bloomed across her alpha's lips was damn near infectious, did he know how he made her feel?
However, her boyfriend even despite his intrigue for the car seemed to take on his far more somber attitude to life once more. How certain he would feel differently within the presence of that beautiful car was within touching distance. But how quick he went from hot... one moment.. Kissing her and holding her hand in public and the next.... His words grew clipped as he claimed they would be fine, her own attempt for harmless playfulness crash and burned like a plane with engine failure.
She moved briskly to the sliding doors, breaking the silence that befell them easily. It was near comical the way salesmen seemed to watch potential people like vultures! Like they were the prey. If only they knew. Aiden hardly seemed to mind at all as they were met with a blast of inviting warm air from inside that car showroom that saw her to swiftly cross that threshold.
How that sight alone could overshadow any mood! There were millions upon millions of dollars in polished to perfection vehicles. The showroom was equally meticulous in every way. She was certain a Bugatti dealership with this level of new inventory was nothing short of a dream come true to a man who prized their finest cars within his impressive fleet. She stole a glimpse at Tetradore's expression before she felt those intent eyes from the sales associates. As if they studied each and every one of their movements and appearance with such scrutiny, even though they smiled and offered their greetings. It was like they lay in wait.. as if curious to see which car drew their attention first. She wondered which one of them would approach them first. The tall one, the bald one, or the one that looked like he could have been a beachboy in a button down. She was certain he had more money in hair product on his head than she had in clothes! Mira was content to ignore them as they passed the few vehicles on display, their eyes mainly for one car in particular. The true gem. The eye catcher. The sheer power and speeds nearly unparalleled. Mira circled the car slowly, taking her time as she assessed every last detail. It was.... stunning. While it was no Noir, it might as well have been the yang to its yin! The car begged to be touched just as it was tempting to hear its engine roar and yet in the pristine building, it seemed almost taboo to do so. She whispered... to avoid being heard. "Can you imagine this next to the Noir?" It would seem that privacy next to something so... expensive was hardly in their cards. It wasn't long when one of those hungry sharks drew away from the pack. He walked with a confident stride; his face smug. Mira was curious as to the tactic he would try. They all had one.
Hovering by the front end, Aiden finally rose his vibrant, unflinching emerald gaze to look at the sales associate with that same cool alpha confidence he always wore. Mira enjoyed the show. As if curious to watch him interact with a man who only thought he was a predator. Tetradore questioned the salesman with the same question that dangled within her own mind.
It was when Tetradore's gaze found her own, that simple question of what she thought of it. How such a simple question could... expose so much. "What is there not to love?" She questioned. "I think its beautiful and unlike what you have already. I think the real question here is..." She moved around the the car so she could settle at her boyfriends side, content to ignore the sales associate who all but stared at her as if worried she was somehow going to ruin his sale!
"Is it... fast enough? Or how good it will look in your new garage." How she said it with a straight face was a feat in itself. It was a Bugatti, of course it was fast! They were designed for the fastest speeds and yet.. How desperately she wanted to see that monkey in a suit... work for that very sale. How she wanted to show them both just what that car was capable of!
A near playful spark entered with her molten gold eyes which swept over the French supercar that possessed all the bells and whistles. Her lips threatened to twitch into a grin but she kept her face perfectly neutral.
"I think.. We need to at least hear it to be sure... don't you?" Because anyone would know, there was nothing like the sound of a Bugatti's engine even if it was next to impossible to take one of these cars out for a test drive.
