South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

With the devil knocking at my door

Little angel go away, come again some other day.
The devil has my ear today.

Unfortunately, dead guys don't always stay dead. I was learning quickly that "dead" is only a matter of perspective, considering that vampires were often delete-able. What did it take to keep a body from returning from wherever they went? You could bury them, you could dismember them... But who's to say that those actions couldn't be reversed? Maybe there is a witch in this city that specializes in reanimation. Imagine the amount of things she could do with that... Reanimating limbs, bodies... Would they be qualified as zombies? Or would there have to be some kind of bite, like a vampire? I mulled this over thoughtfully, debating whether or not vampire insurance would actually be a useful kind of benefit a company might want to begin offering. Get a limb torn off? Here! Vampire insurance will keep your limbs from becoming unusable, and keep your undead inheritance safe in wherever it is they keep it.

"I'm beginning to think that insurance might be profitable, considering vampires seem to have expiration dates too. Get some magic on board and poof, you are no longer dead. You never know, some witch might even have that trick up her sleeve already."

Amiably, I start walking towards the bar as well. The prospect of a drink with him as a companion was actually endearing, considering there was a serious, dire lack of wit, conversation, and intelligence that often surrounded me. Him, though? Damon seemed far more capable than most of holding my attention, patience, and good humor. Besides, his retorts were near text-book fabulous, and elicited multiple amused grins.

"Drink now, fuck bull shit. The perks of running your own illegal business? Lack of contracts and negotiations," I mused. " In all honesty, inconveniences are the best kinds of actions. Most people can't get out of their own way; I simply like to help them realize that by providing ample bothersome inconveniences, you know, such as dismemberment."

The bar loomed closer with the ever-present sound of the music emanating from the establishment all the way down the street. The drunk crowd inside reminded me that being in public meant lots of drunk humans. Annoying for me, probably fabulous for him. As two drunk idiots stumbled out of the bar singing all kinds of drunk anthems, I couldn't help the way their bottles disintegrated in their fingers thanks to me. Blood dripped from their hands as they laughed over their gracelessness, which reminded me I was with a vampire.

"If you drink a severely intoxicated human's blood, ... Do you get drunk?"

Genuinely curious, I nodded a thanks before ducking into the bar. The sound of the word partner? Far more pleasing than I ever would have thought. That in mind, I made my way to the bar, immediately garnering the bartender's attention and she quickly came over to service both of us.

"Pick your poison."
