West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

There was perhaps nothing as truly delightful to that boy in all the world then driving in a car, any car, with his most favoured of companions. There was a simple pleasure to it, a rightness that even Tobias was not above understanding. It was something they had done for so many years and in some fashion that gangly leopard had come to associate driving with Tetradore as some sign that all was entirely right within the world. It was, perhaps, a truly simplistic view and yet he was hardly capable of anything more complex. Tobias distinctly aware of Tetradore's emotions as he was any being within his company even if he pretended otherwise. The emerald-eyed man was always content when driving, else outright enjoying himself when those fantastic speeds were reached and as such Tobias had come to favour those times where it might be just the two of them and no other. His own dark eyes peered readily into the night as they arrived at that airstrip, those long, flat open roads readily enticing to the boy before Tetradore slowly pulled that car to a halt and gestured for that change of seats. Tobias had hardly forgotten that promise made months ago before his companions 'death' that he might learn to drive. His memory was, often, an entirely fickle thing and yet this singular promise, it seemed, had been remembered, his excitement surely palpable as he hurried into that driver's seat. That place the feline had longed to sit for years. His foot so immediately pressing down on the gas pedal only to have the car grumble and roar without moving at all. This was clearly an unanticipated reaction. Tobias scowling readily at it before trying several more times only to admit defeat, the boy pressing at several of those buttons in some hope they might engage the vehicle only to see the windscreen wipers fly across the screen before him. A huff parting his lips now as his arms folded across his chest.

Those almost blunt words from his companion saw his own dark eyes flicker sideways, Tetradore declaring that car would fail to move until his companion had told him what to do. Tobias scowling once more at that implication that he was required to both listen and learn when he truly merely desired just to drive. His patience an often terribly short lived thing, this perhaps the very reason he had never been introduced by their shared parents to any sort of formal schooling if only because listening was not a skill he often chose to exemplify. That simple explanation of cause and effect however, that he could not drive until he had listened, so had a fashion of residing within his understanding. One would not happen without the other. Tetra did not lie to him. Not ever. Nor was the panther in the habit of making idle threats. Tobias wholly aware that the Alpha surely meant just what he said in those moments. If he did not listen there would be no driving. Tobias near begrudgingly removing his hands from that wheel to fold his arms across his chest, head nodding in that assurance of understanding. That suggestion that someone within the car might be hurt- or die seeming to see that surprise linger upon his features, his gaze turned hurriedly towards Tetradore now.

"I....do not....want you to....die again."

That this alone so seemed to strike a chord within the boy was perhaps surprising. The man determined to drive well if only because he desired to keep Tetradore safe. The very realisation that his beloved companion was in the car and that it was he whom risked making him die seeming to, somehow, find purchase within those often clouded thoughts. He could not bear to lose Tetra again. Not when he had only just gotten his companion back! Tobias so simply.....needed him as perhaps no other did. The boy utterly lost without his chosen leader. After all, so much of his very existence, if not his purpose, so focused round his best of friends and that simple belief that Tetradore needed him too.

The elder man leaned over then to tap at one of his feet, Tobias glancing downward as if to examine that process before those dark eyes met the emerald of the man's own once more, Tetradore making some effort to explain the gentleness with which that touch was required. Like a woman. Like Raven. Tobias head was simply given to tilt slightly, a sure sign that deviant boy was in the process of some thought, his mind so attempting to place that analogy. His head nodding at last in agreement. Raven did not like to be touched harshly. That he knew. The car was like Raven. This understanding seeming to reside within him before his attention was drawn to the break. The very idea that touching both at the same time might result in screaming readily saw his own features contort into a look of displeasure. He disliked screaming.

"Only....one."

He simply reiterated, his gaze glancing upward once more in search of that assurance before his attention shifted to that dashboard and the lines Tetradore seemed determined to have him understand, the boy frowning slightly at the simply wealth of information he was being presented with. Tobias rarely, if ever, so forced to attempt to comprehend so many things and yet his desire to drive so readily outweighed the difficulties of his attempts to understand. The young man entirely capable of concentration when he chose. This understanding of energy was perhaps one to be readily grasped, 'energy' after all, was a video game word. The boy entirely prone to enjoyment of the use of those words even outside those games, his gaze drifting to those other three now as Tetradore made some effort to explain that car would surely die if those lines went too far either way.

"Death lines."

He uttered suddenly. That simple sentence displaying at least some understanding of the concept even if he had no grasped it fully. After all, Tobias rarely cared for the 'why' of any situation. The man satisfied with being told what would occur alone. The speedometer was the last of those instructions. Tetradore pointing determinedly to that line he was not allowed to cross, his forehead creasing slightly before nodding, his attention shifted to that wheel and those turns and blinkers required before the boy was finally permitted to perform any sort of driving. He moved to do just as Tetradore had said, pressing his foot â€"gently- all the way down on the break before slowly releasing it in those moments after Tetra had shifted the car into drive. The car very slowly starting to move, that utter delight clear on his features at even this slow motion. His hands rested on the wheel, his arms perhaps overly tense in that sheer effort to keep the car straight as it all but crawled along the ground. Tobias daring to touch his foot to the gas pedal if only to see what it did, that touch perhaps a little to firm as the car suddenly shot forward. That yelp of surprise echoed readily from within him before his foot managed to find that break, jerking the car to a stop within near the same moment. Tobias staring wide-eyed for several moments before turning to glance towards Tetradore and make sure the man was still alive.

"She is.....a bitch."

That female car analogy it seemed had worked almost a little too well, Tobias declaring that car decidedly displeasing for its reaction to a touch he had thought gentle and yet it seemed that lesson had well and truly been learned. His foot, this time, pressing far more gently onto that gas pedal. The car creeping forward again, the boy almost tense with that focus as they crawled along once more. Either man surely capable of walking faster than they were currently moving. That wheel was turned decidedly slowly, the car turning now to make a slow circle, several of them, Tobias momentarily seeming to forget to go straight once more before. The man at last beginning to go a little faster as they rolled down that runway.

"Tetra! I.....am....driving. I am.....the best.....at driving."

Well. Confidence was important in driving, wasn't it.
