East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She might have blushed when that deep chuckle graces her ears had she not already been flushed with irritation, instead she sidesteps him giving him an apologetic look as she moves to the other side of the rather small elevator. Her arms are folded across her chest, annoyance clearly dancing in her chocolate eyes until that elevator screeches to an abrupt halt. Miyako falls forward, bouncing off his massive frame and lands on the ground. She doesn't move for a moment, she just grunts at the impact until she's rubbing at her lower back. She's quick to apologize and her brows flick upwards in surprise, what could he be possibly sorry for? She hit him.

That deep voice slithers over her, drawing her eyes to focus on him, to really focus on him. She had seen this man before. She was sure of it! She's about to demand what he's doing here, if he was planning on attempting another suicide attempt until he extends a massive hand to help her up. She doesn't hesitate to take it, her petite and smooth fingers wrapped in his as she staggers to her feet. Reaching back, she rubs at her lower back again, wincing at the soreness there, perhaps she would soak in a bath when she got home. She was sure Arlo would still be sleeping.

When he explains his apology, Miyako eyes him again her face softening as she offers him a wry grin, "There was no way you could have kept me from falling, no need to apologize," her musical voice filling the space as she withdraws her hand from his, wrapping it around her strap. As he answers her, she chews on her lower lip briefly running through her plans for the rest of the day. She wasn't needed at the hospital tonight and Arlo wouldn't find it unusual if she didn't show up at a decent hour. Sighing, she shifts slightly, noting again how very hot it was. Reaching up, she unbuttons her coat, opening it, though she doesn't take it off quite yet. She was certain help would arrive soon.

As he turns, she peers around his form, clearly unable to look over his shoulders, she watches him push that emergency button. Great. They were stuck. "That's unfortunate," she says, irritation lacing those musical lyrics. She was hot and had forked out money for a ridiculous ticket, her day, it seemed, was taking a downward swing. When he turns back to her, she hadn't realized how close she had been standing to him as he was pushing the button, taking a step back to allow him his space, she only takes one step before that rail is pushing into her back. An elevator never felt so small to her. "I certainly hope it won't be like, it's terribly hot in here," she says and in turn waves her hand in her face as if that small breeze might help cool her.

When he offers her that grin, she can't help but allow her own small shy smile to play on her lips. When he asks her name, she pauses for a moment, it's not like she had anything better to do, "Miyako, and yours?" she gives him a moment to answer before she realizes that she did recognize this man, "Didn't we meet the other night? You were on the roof of my apartment building, I thought you were going to jump. Anymore... suicidal tendencies lately?" she questions, entirely oblivious that this was most definitely not the man that she had met. Still, she's certain that this was the man.
