East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The ebony panther's attention had been so steadfast upon his perceived threat that he had paid startlingly little attention to just whom had been effected by his uncanny affinity for fear. His ability to manipulate terrors had always been particularly strong but had he been capable up to this point to spread such horrors? That, he hadn't been nearly as certain of. Tetradore had made his way back to the fairy girl with every expectation that she would be settled on the cobblestone floor of the alleyway with her hand wrapped around her injured arm - not stricken with panic of the nightmares that so plagued her. Ordeals that were brought to life with such painstaking reality only by himself. A small tentative sound left the panther's lips, laced with a hint of concern as she pushed herself up and as far back from him as the brick wall behind her allowed her. The gesture was one all too familiar to Tetradore - one he had caused many a times in the past at the flick of his late mistress' wrist.

He paused in mid step, slowly lowering himself to his haunches regardless of the protest of the arrow in his side. Pain was something he was familiar with - between his years spent in captivity and the fighting ring he oversaw on a nightly basis. His tail wrapped around his figure as he remained perfectly still - nearly mirroring the same sentry fashion of the stone gargoyles that lined the top of the clock tower. That concern slide away, the adrenaline and annoyance was walled off in a perfectly practiced fashion till the man had returned to some poised state of apathy. His intense emerald green gaze remained steadfast upon the woman, watching her, waiting for her. Pressing her was inadvisable, that Tetradore knew far too well. At best she would run from him, at worst....well, he preferred not to think of that. And so - he simply didn't. For far too much of his life, Tetradore had been trained to be what she had needed of him. To be the perfect monstrosity, to sit by idly whilst she conducted her business. It was all too easy to slip back into old habits when they were all he had known for so very long.

He was comfortable in silence - or rather, the most comfortable he could be considering the arrow that protruded firmly from his side. For a while he'd been able to ignore it but it's presence was a continued annoyance. One that eventually caused him to break his stillness just enough to turn his head. A small line of saliva left his parted, fanged mouth, falling with precision upon the wooden shaft of the arrow quite close to his skin. The moment the liquid touched the object, the wood began to hiss and sizzle till the shaft broke in half, falling on the floor with a small cackle. The iron head was still firmly settled into his dark flesh but at least the long wooden shaft was no longer an annoyance. Later he'd dig out the flint but for now he was at least able to move again.
