East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

Family was a peculiar topic for Alexander, having been dead so long that they were but wisps of memories floating somewhere within the back of his brain. His eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly, a small shrug crossed his shoulders and yet the man failed to be provoked by the were creature's words. "My family line has long since died out." He responded with such simplicity as if it explained far more than it truly did. Then again, it wasn't as if Alexander was about to go into such complicatedly distant emotions, especially not with such a goading creature as the one across from him. His wife and son were dead. His lovers were all dead. Any children born bastards were too long dead and those fathered by his Dark Hunter genes had lived extremely long mortal lives that too had ended in death. There was very little to memorialize within the death of others. It was a constant within his life, their keepsakes hardly nearly as meaningful as his once equine companion. He had spent far more time with his war horse then the fleeting wisp of life he had spent with any some such "family". Perhaps in itself that said something about him but the Macedonian man chose not to dwell on it. It wasn't as if he could change the course of history long past.

Quite happily, it was Frost's trinket that the conversation turned to, one in which he was extremely more apt to offer insight into. "If you told me what it is or what it does then perhaps I would be far more inclined to assist you on your venture." His smooth baritone voice responded, hardly even hesitating before speaking with the same charismatic ease that the man was so particularly known for. There was very little within this particular arrangement that truly benefited the Macedonian King and quite frankly the man had yet to make it worth his while. "I have an eternity to wait if I must play this game strategically. It was a mistake on his part to let me see that little trick of his." He concluded, a small simper crossing the man's features. It was perhaps the most beneficial part of his power, the ability to understand the down to the particulars how other's magic functioned. He knew the exact strengths and limitations to such teleportation capabilities, ones that Alexander could easily exploit. "I never said I was going into this battle alone. You'd be remiss to think that I've lived all these millenniums entirely on my own. He may have his little Persian Immortals to hide behind but it would hardly take long to call together my own army. One can acquire quite the friends and favors in that time and I did not simply sit idly for thousands of years." He leaned forward and to the side ever so slightly, his cheek resting upon his elbow as if the man was amused by this notion, "I do not need you Frost. Your presence would merely be a convenience."

There was still some residual royalty that laced his lyrics, the certainty entirely steadfast within the man. He was, after all, a strategic genius for a reason. Recklessness had never been his forte. Stubbornness, maybe, but he was never reckless. He never underestimated the enemy and this was hardly going to be the first time. His eyebrow rose ever so slightly, at the distinct barb that the man across from him threw in his direction, it was enough to bring a rush of irritation to his usually calm soul and yet, his voice remained perhaps as placid as ever, if not even more so. A shrug crossed his shoulders and Alexander leaned back within his chair, calculating his next words with care. "Perhaps then I will ask the council to keep you otherwise preoccupied while I finish my battle with Bessus if you're so insistent on my failure. And then, when it's over and his army of immortals lies in ruins, maybe I shall keep your little trinket. I do so strongly value what I conquer." He responded with a certain sort of iciness, entirely willing to throw the were's words right back at him. Alexander had perhaps a history of dealing unkindly to those who refused to offer him any fashion of respect, his successes surely enough that he quite nearly demanded as such. The King of Asia had every means to ensure that Frost too offered him the same dignity or else he would take it in the same way he always did. Frost had displayed his own chink in his armor, one in which Alexander had been content enough to push his daggered words between.

There was another fleeting display of amusement across the man's usually stoic features as he watched the were began to rise to his challenge. His pride was clearly a point of contention, one that Alexander understood well enough. Never the less, he hardly forced him further on the topic of comparison, having already begun to play his hand with such masterful ease. It was only truely the inquiry of the sheer longitude of his life that caught him off guard, his gaze shifting across the expanse of his chosen sanctuary. "It would be impossible not to." He responded quietly after a moment, hardly bothering to go into details on the facet. It was exhausting and yet, he hardly was willing to throw himself so easily into death's embrace. He was contemplating such during Frost's attempt to rouse him and yet, Alexander returned his attention back towards the hot blooded were in a obscenely slow fashion. "This will not be my last battle. I will take Bessus and what is his just as I have in the past. The question is merely whether or not I choose to involve you. Bucephalus never wavered regardless of what I asked of him. So far you have not shown me that you are capable of that as well. So truly Frost, I ask you this again, why should I bring you with me to victory?"
