East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

In theory, Alexander had understood exactly what had occurred the moment his newfound ability had flared to life, his primary capabilities had kicked into overdrive, bombarding the male with what little information there was to gleam from the newfound power that his touch held. However, understanding it and practicing it were two wildly different aspects, especially when it came to the particular idle thoughts of the young female in front of him. He had held a certain sort of weakness for her, in some aspect or another. It wasn't often that Alexander made friends, much less those with another species. There was a sort of vulnerability about her that he found himself yearning to protect, even if he'd never mention it aloud. What he hadn't expected, perhaps even less than invading her mind within the first place, was that her thoughts might so lingering upon him. The shattering of the mug had brought him back to reality and yet, with all that he had gleaned from that brief moment of mental contact, the last thing he had cared about was the pieces of ceramic or the staining color of coffee on the floor. In fact, the only thing he cared about at all was the figure of the young woman that so sought to flee from his presence in the exact same fashion she had the first time they had met.

He didn't want her to go, not truly, not yet. A part of him knew all too well that if he let her leave the coffee shop without a whisper of explanation, there was a rather good chance he might not see her again, not for a long while. It was this realization, this understanding that caused him to reach out to her again, momentarily forgetting the result that his touch might have upon them both. He wasn't sure if she knew it was him she shared her thoughts with - or if she was truly aware at all what was happening. Those concerns, however, were but fleeting in light of the images, thoughts, and wants that played across the forefront of his mind. He saw himself drawing her into his arms, his lips pressing against hers in a feverish fashion that was so typical of those story book endings. He saw her running from him and his quaint cafe, turning into that skittish fox that lay dormant within her fueled with emotions that he certainly didn't want her to feel due to his own shortcomings.
His fingers pulled away from her, cutting any further thoughts off sort as the girl inquired as to what he was apologizing for in the first place. And yet, for a moment, Alexander is hesitant to respond, instead caught off guard by those lingering images he had found resting ever so safely within her mind. During his youth, he had very much believed to be the object of desire for the women he had met - after all, he had been the King of all of Asia. But now? Now such titles had been stripped away from him. Now, most saw him no more than a barista or business owner. Now such relationships were few and far between for the Dark Hunter - the last of which had been nearly two centuries ago. Still - for perhaps the first time in a long while, Alexander found himself truly looking at the woman in front of him, judging if such were feelings he was capable of returning for her. In truth, he had never been with a supernatural, not one beyond his own race and yet he was willing enough to forgo that small complication. She was certainly beautiful, that he couldn't deny. From the hue of her eyes to the dark locks of her hair and the pristine silkiness of her skin - she was beautiful.

It was perhaps that realization that had caused him to move - after all, when the Macedonian conqueror wanted something, very little could stop him from taking it. Mentally, he prepared himself for what he knew would follow - for the dive into her consciousness once again. He stepped closer towards her, his hand reaching for her waist only to rest up on the material of her jeans. His other hand gingerly reached up for the back of her neck as he pulled her against him, prepared for the onslaught of her own thoughts against his and then, just like that, Alexander pressed his lips against hers in the same passionate fashion that very much mirrored the scene she had unintentionally shared with him.
