East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

There was still that twinge of annoyance that passed through the girl as Nadya glanced over the paper she was given as though it was nothing, as though the numbers and the success of the business meant nothing. "You act as though I hide away in this office all evening. Just because that's where I was tonight..." Samantha shook her head, shoving the file back into the pile as she leaned back in the chair, clearly frustrated. "I'm on the floor almost every night. I watch those routines; I make sure the waitresses do their jobs correctly. There are girls down there that are loyal to me now. But you don't see that, Nadya, because you haven't been here." She scoffed, shaking her head. "Of course I thought about it. I put a lot of thought into it. Why shouldn't it be me? There's no monarchy within a hundred miles of here, all the others have fallen apart. Someone has to keep the local faeries under some kind of control. They can't just..."

The girl shook her head, raking a hand through her hair as she stood, clearly frustrated and angry. "I know what Aiden is, Nadya. And I know what I am. It's not an idea anymore, it's a reality. I'm a faerie queen. As for rules and laws, I don't appreciate you implying that I'm incapable." She crossed her arms, that anger flaring up within her. She could feel that pressure within her, indicating that something was about to happen, though this time she was incapable of stopping it. Her rage... she knew it this time, felt it even, as it was that emotion that shattered the glass in the room. She was perhaps just as surprised by the shattering of the glass by Nadya's own power forcing the glass down and away from them. It wasn't quite enough though, the pieces of glass she couldn't quite catch coming up to slice into her arm and face.

It was in that stunned moment of the aftermath of her power that Samantha turned, looking at Nadya with a bewildered expression. That was certainly different than the glitter and the bubbles, though certainly a useful skill. The girl was powerful, even if she didn't entirely know how to use her powers yet. She was more than capable to be queen. As soon as the shock of it all wore off, she was right back to being furious. The other woman's comment of simply breaking the vodka seemed to be the tipping point, the woman reaching up to wipe the blood off her face with the back of her hand. "It's not about the goddamn vodka, Nadya." At the insistence that she perhaps shouldn't shout, Samantha's eyes narrowed. "I'll shout if I damn well please. You're my boss and the sister of my boyfriend. You're practically family, so I will let this slide. This time. However," She turned, looking at the girl with narrowed eyes. "Any more attacks on my authority and I will be forced to react, Nadya. You think I can't handle being a queen? Don't make me show you that I can."

The anger within the girl was still at that steady level, though the tingling sensation seemed to have ebbed for now. No, she had made her point with that. Samantha barely moved as Nadya took her hand, her eyes narrowing as she tried to decipher what the other woman was doing. She was about to pull her hand back when the wounds on her face and arms started to knit together, the touch of Nadya's lips to her skin seeming to heal her entirely. When she was released, she pulled her hand back in towards her with a muttered thank you, though the anger within her hardly let it sound genuine. And then, and then the woman continued. Foolish, really, Samantha thought, to continue to provoke her, though she said nothing of it as she watched her, the woman continuing to stand rather than sit. She, at least, would not give in to Nadya by taking a seat.

"Of course I'll be there for him, I'm his girlfriend," Samantha scoffed, turning to look towards the hole in which the window once was. She offered no apologies for it â€" after all, she could consider it payback for the state of Samantha's once beloved futon â€" instead mulling over the woman's words. Leave him alone? Exploring another option? It didn't make sense, really. Where would Nadya go? Until... Samantha spun on her feet, looking at the woman with another baffled expression. "You're leaving the pack? Nadya, you're his Beta. You can't just..." Again, the woman tugged a hand through her hair as she stared at the woman. "You come in here and lecture me about the things I can and can't handle, and the responsibilities and rules, and you're leaving him? Are you kidding me, Nadya?"
