East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The invite within Nadya's hand was sleek and professional as was expected from any front-runner candidate for mayor. A gala. She was sure one had been delivered to half of the city seeing as this particular candidate was running openly as a vampire. Half the city was of supernatural blood but not many perhaps were convinced that a supernatural could win the election. This gala was surely a way to not just raise money for the campaign but explain on a more personal level what he plans to bring to the city if elected. Nadya would have rather not attended; going to the gala would mean going outside which unnerved her still. However, she was also a business owner and that meant she had to be a certain amount of aware of who was running the city. What if they were going to regulate alcohol, dancing...or fighting? That final thought was the one that caused Nadya to leave her spot at one of the dining tables by the bar and seek out her brother.

That conversation had been fruitless as well as rather irritating. They were not only the Nightshade pack but each had a business. They should at least meet the person running for mayor who shared their supernatural affinity. "You're the Alpha." Was all that Nadya could keep repeating to try and get her brother to understand the importance of such an event. He was the face of the pack, he should be there. But her arguments had fallen on deaf ears and her broody sod of a brother simply waved her away with a "Have fun". Nadya left his office with more than one grumbling name call under her breath to return to her room. She didn't want to go alone, it seemed like a horrible idea in her current state but without Aiden there to represent the pack it fell on her, the Beta, to be the face and voice of the pack. So she would have to go and play two roles, one as Beta and one as business owner. The anxiety of it caused knots in her stomach. A rather brilliant idea if she did say so herself popped into her mind. Nadya hurriedly gathered a dozen hangers of clothes and her purse before hurrying from her room to the garage.

It didn't take long for Nadya to guide the black bmw i8 that she had acquired to a stop in front of Samantha's new apartment. It certainly was far better looking on the outside than the last one. Nadya rapped on the door continuously until the self-anointed queen fae opened the door to which Nadya pressed past her into the new home laden with all her things. "This has Aiden written all over it." She commented lightly as she took in the room before dropping her things on the couch and turning to face the woman. "There's...a Gala. One of us...a vampire, is running for mayor. Aiden...he won't go. I have to, I'm Beta, and have the burlesque. You, you have to go...you said you're queen so you have to go." Nadya began to pick at the hangers of clothes and hold them up to Sam's front. There was little time for explanations and there was no way Nadya was going to go alone. Getting Sam to agree on a dress was half the battle but once the fae had picked one it was relatively easy to get the pair dressed and ready. It wasn't until she had slid the tiara onto Sam's head that an individual appeared whom Nadya had never seen before. "Who...are you?"

Nadya was sorely confused by the logistics of how Dorian came to be but she accepted the fact with a simple. "I suppose you'll do. Do you have anything...nice...to wear?" Obviously Dorian's choice of clothes was debatable to the fashionista. Nadya honestly hadn't anticipated another body, especially one who sounded more like a babe in the world than someone who would be beneficial at this event. Sam seemed to have more faith in him though so Nadya kept quiet and simply led them out to her car. It wasn't far from Sam's new apartment to the establishment hosting the event but it was far enough for Dorian to find the time to shout. "If you scream again...I'm pulling over...and you're walking." Nadya grumbled, glaring at Dorian in her rearview mirror. The fire laced through her veins but Nadya bit it back down as she gripped tighter at the wheel for the rest of the drive.

It took a moment, standing outside of Red on the Water for Nadya to gather herself. This was Isolt's business and the prospect of seeing the vampire again made Nadya nervous. She had lived with the redhead and grown to trust her as she helped where she could with the twins. It had eaten her up leaving so suddenly but she was sure that if she stayed to try and explain to the vampire why she was moving...that she wouldn't have been able to do it. There was also that awkwardness of Isolt leaving her brother, their courting still so young, for some other man. Nadya readjusted the diamond bracelet around her wrist as she stared at the front of the building a moment longer before looking over at Sam. She honestly wouldn't have thought the fae would have picked that dress but it did compliment the budding queen well.

Nadya led the trio into the establishment that had been transformed for the event. She had never been inside before but could at least admit that it appeared, even if the lavish gala extras hadn't been there, a well done business. "Oh, yes...Don't mind if I do." Nadya perked when one of the waiters who slid by with a platter of flutes with champagne. She gracefully snatched one of the stems from the platter as the waiter walked by and tipped the glass to her lips to take a few quick sips. If she was going to keep calm and keep the Were inside tonight then she was going to need the help of the champagne. "Don't break the glasses tonight." Nadya whispered though there was no anger or an 'or else' tone to her voice. It would simply be a bad first impression for the new queen.
