My Own Form Of CHAOS

When I got the invitation on my phone, I couldn't help but laugh. A masquerade party in a town like this? They're just asking for something to get out of hand. Bringing all those supernatural beings into one building together? I wasn't planning on going until I got the text from Isolt, saying she was going. Needless to say, I thought about it some more and decided to go as well. Miss a chance to see her all dressed up? Not a chance. Plus, I still feel quite protective over the red head and I'd feel better knowing I'm there to watch out for her. No doubt there'll be hunters out tonight, just waiting for someone to make the wrong move. Bastards.

I look at myself in the mirror with a smirk as I straighten up my tie. I went all out, with a white shirt and a black three piece suit. The final touch is hanging on a hook by the door so as I head out, I put the mask on my face. It's not much, just a gold and black mask, a last minute pick at the local costume store since it was such a last minute decision to go. None the less, I feel it brings out my eyes.

I jump in the camaro and rev that puppy up. She always purrs for me. It doesn't take long to reach the witchery where everything's supposed to be going down. Even from here, I can smell the wet dog smell that hints that shifters are definitely present. I wrinkle my nose for a second before I regain my composure. Getting out, I straighten my suit and head to the door. I can see the body guard hunter from here, the blonde from that run in with the white leopard shifter a few months back. I doubt he remembers me. I give him a dazzling grin as I brush past, just a confident gesture to let him know I could give a rat's ass that he's here tonight. I don't plan on getting staked.

I move easily into the crowd and it doesn't take me long to pick her out. She looks ravishing, to put it lightly and my eyes easily follow her around the room. As she talks to a few familiar figures, I head on up, moving to her side as gracefully as if I belonged there. I give a smirk to the two shifters before her as I speak in a low appreciative tone in her ear.

"I agree with the kitty. You do look quite...slinky tonight."

My eyes gleam with good intentions as I run my eyes over her dress. Then I look back at the leopard shifter and his date, or so I would assume, the girl whose hand marked my cheek on the first night we met.

"So we meet again, wolf. You look nice."

I give her a smile, something to gesture a show of peace for tonight. I won't be a bother, at least not unprovoked. My eyes shift to her companion next.

"I trust you found your friend? The one from the photo?"

I still recall the picture he showed me in the warehouse when he questioned me about helping him find someone. Since then, I think I've seen a leopard running with a black panther on certain nights and I'm pretty sure it sounds like the guy from the photo. My eyes run over the room, able to pick out the one in question standing on the other side. He seems to be watching Isolt rather more than I'm comfortable with, my gaze meeting his for a moment with a seemingly blank expression before I turn my gaze back to Isolt with a cheerful smirk etched across my lips.
