Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Samantha Cassidy

Even though Samantha had a firm hold on her own emotions, there was no denying that she was just as nervous about this meeting as the Italian King that lingered downstairs. It was important to Dorian that she like his lover, and in turn, it was equally important that Sebastian like Samantha herself. When it came down to it, Samantha wouldn't deny that she was afraid that Dorian might forgo being her roommate, her friend, her subject, to go live his life with the vampire. And the idea of that made Samantha sick. Dorian was her best friend and perhaps the only other person that truly mattered to her except for Aiden. The idea that he might cease to be a part of her life made her feel increasingly nervous. It was important, then, to make a good impression. It was that alone that had her putting effort into her appearance. By the time she descended those stairs, she was assured he looked as put together as she ever would. With her hair styled and makeup applied expertly, she looked considerably more put together than she had only minutes before.

She was pleased, then, when Dorian rewarded her with that grin of his. Twirling in front of him, she let her own grin spread on her lips as he complimented her. "Thank you Dorian, I..." She couldn't deny the blush that crept on her cheeks as he kissed her cheek, and instantly she leaned forward to wrap her arms around him in an affectionate hug. "I love you," Samantha said easily as she hugged him. "You're so important to me." She stepped back then, her fingers reaching out to smooth out the wrinkles in his shirt until she was confident he looked just as put together as he had before she'd rumpled his shirt. The question she asked of him was genuine, of course. She knew of Dorian's titles and the idea that she might have to treat this as a royal occasion caused that flicker of nervousness to appear on her features. This evening was turning out to be more pressure than she expected.

"A Lord," Samantha repeated, her body resisting that urge to chew on her fingernails - a habit that Dorian was so trying to get her to break. The assurance that it was not that type of dinner made her shoulders relax, the queen letting out a breath of relief as she did so. The chuckle he offered her had a small sigh escaping her. "I am trying to understand your world, Dorian, just as you are trying to understand mine. I appreciate your help." The instructions that she would introduce herself by her own name were clear enough, but it is his mention of Narnia that had her lip quirking up into a grin that seemed to fully relax the nervous girl. "I am the Queen of Narnia, Dorian, just as I have told you countless times. I don't know why you continue to argue with me on this one." Her voice was entirely teasing, though she wasn't willing to admit yet that she had been teasing about the whole thing. She found she quite enjoyed their joke, even if Dorian remained unsure if it was a joke or not. But ah, that was only half the fun for the Fae Queen.

Samantha moved then to go collect the dish from the oven in order to cease the beeping. She hummed to herself as she moved, returning to Dorian's side only when the dish was safely on top of the oven and awaiting the arrival of the vampire so that she might serve it. "I know you have zero faith in me, Dorian, but this has turned out perfectly. You and your boyfriend will find it amazing." She grinned as the knock on the door seemed to make a fresh wave of nervousness plague the Fae King. "It's okay. Go answer the door." The girl nudged him forward, watching silently as Dorian's demeanor changed so suddenly at the sight of his lover. Samantha's gaze rested entirely on her friend, ignoring the vampire for now, as she was touched immediately by the overwhelming love that seemed to radiate off of her roommate. She hadn't realized things between them were so serious.

It was only when Dorian prompted that introduction did Samantha's gaze lift up to the vampire, the words that she was beginning to offer Sebastian lost on her lips as her gaze fell upon the face of their guest. The smile of the vampire faltered in that instant, both of them seeming to recognize each other at the same moment. She had seen that vampire once before on a night that still plagued her nightmares. She could see it so vividly now. The Hunter that she had so naively tried to save. The child drinking every last bit of life from the Hunter. That cruel child turning Samantha's body into a puppet as she commanded her companion to drink from her. The face that stood before her was that vampire that had bit into Samantha within that forest. She could still remember the... no, it wasn't quite pain... that he had inflicted on her. Somehow despite the fear that she'd felt, he'd made her want that bite. He made her long for it and the feeling of it had been almost pleasurable, even if the night itself haunted her.

Of course. Of fucking course that was the vampire that Dorian was in love with.

Unlike the duo in the room, Samantha had never been good at hiding her emotions. They played out so vividly on her features as she instinctively took a step back the moment that the vampire reached out to her. That fear from that night still lingered in her mind. Her eyes flashed to Dorian instantly. He promised to protect her, and yet would he protect her from the vampire that he was in love with? But Dorian... she had promised that she would be polite to the vampire if only because she loved Dorian so. It was that that had her lifting her gaze back to Sebastian, her hand reaching out towards him to take his hand. She was assured he would feel her trembling as she finally spoke. "You too, Sebastian..." She managed, though her tongue felt positively heavy as she attempted to speak.

How would she ever get through this night?
