Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Sebastian's attempts to assure him such an activity was 'mostly' safe was met with a dubious glance, Dorian assured that the crash of the woman upon the ice was an inevitable part of this activity that he himself was not totally assured he desired to experience and yet, in truth, he held little fear for any real injury. His consort had proven time and time again that he was decidedly unwilling to allow the Monarch to be in any situation of true harm and while perhaps he held little trust in this so called ice he did, indeed, hold an eternal faith in his lovers risk assessment of any such activity involving it. He finds himself readily seated upon that bench in the moments that follow, eyeing that sharp silver blade upon the base of his shoe that the vampire strove to instil within him should hardly be touched. Dorian finding he had little inclination to do so, the man deliberately acting to avoid any contact with it as he laced up those shoes. The weight of them was entirely unexpected upon his feet and too the Monarch found his balance had been entirely thrown in those moments he tried to stand, Dorian forced to grasp the bench once more before eyeing the ease with which Sebastian stood almost enviously. This mention of figure skaters saw a look of inquisitiveness so trace his features, the Fae having little true idea of what these were and yet he hardly chooses to inquire further upon it as he releases his hold once more, his focus entirely upon attempting to balance himself atop those rubber mats.

It took but several moments of practice for Dorian to work out just how to place his feet and too- how to move about in a fashion that resulted in far less wobbling then it had before, a soft simper of delight at this easy progress crossing his features before he boldly gestured towards that ice. The man assured he had all but mastered such a thing. That utterly knowing look upon Sebastian's face entirely missed as he moved to follow the man onto that cold, frozen space. Any sense of confidence lasted but several seconds at the most. Dorian stepping onto the ice with ease only to find attempting to take a second step was a vastly more difficult endeavour, his feet so betraying him entirely as they flew out from beneath him to send the Fae King tumbling over backwards and onto that ice with a truly distinct thud that left him momentarily dazed. It was disastrously slippery. Dorian failing to have considered just how easily those blades upon his shoes might slide across that cool surface. The ice within the fountain at Sebastian's home that had so fascinated him had felt rougher to the touch, misleading him to so believe this surface too- would hold greater traction. The blades however, resulted in an entirely different sensation. Sebastian's snickering saw his own eyes roll in good tempered amusement, Dorian knowing well his lover so seemed to find amusement in any situation in which he was less than the graceful and composed Monarch he had been raised to be. This business of ice skating afforded him truly little chance to be even remotely as poised as he normally was. Dorian so inquiring as to why the English seemed to enjoy this humiliation as Sebastian came to rest above him with practised ease while Dorian himself so contemplated how to get up at all. Those challenging words however so saw the return of that near impish simper as the Fae King shrugged lightly upon the ice.

"Oh, I don't know about that, you fell for me."

A chuckle rises easily within his throat as he reaches readily for that offered hand, allowing Sebastian to grasp it before those softly spoken words so managed to find his ears and another chortle of amusement parts his lips as he allows himself to be lifted upward and back onto his feet at last. His own words offered with that distinct note of tease. A tiny part of himself unable to prevent that fashion in which his lovers words so prompted him to consider how ice might be useful all the same. It was creative, if nothing else and yet even he is not assured they could so make this frozen surface truly work in a satisfying fashion.

"Yes. I'll bet you do, wretched thing you are sometimes."

He reaches easily for that wall now, using it to balance himself once Sebastian had released him once more. Dorian assured he felt perfectly childish clinging to it and yet he held little desire to fall again, his silver gaze lifted upward at Sebastian's furthered attempts at explanation. How easy he made it sound! His eyes drift but slightly towards one of those more competent skaters upon the ice, watching the way in which she glided, her feet moving in a rhythmical pattern- push and glide, push and glide. It did not seem difficult and yet how easy it was to tumble if his balance was lost for even the barest of moments! He moved then to attempt just as Sebastian said, this time, leaving one hand to rest on the wall as pressed more firmly with one foot, using it to push himself forward ever so slightly to achieve those bare few inches of gliding. Ah! It worked! What followed was a truly slow progression about the perimeter of the rink, Dorian having achieved enough bravery to let go of the wall entirely for small stretches before grasping it again, the man aware of Sebastian's presence lingering just to the side throughout in that ever-patient manner. He fell but once more in that entire circle when his blade so connected with the wall of the rink itself, jolting him backwards and seeing his feet slip out, leaving him clutching that wall in some desperate bid to remain upright though it was a hardly graceful affair. The Fae King managing all the same to return to a more upright position without Sebastian's assistance before continuing on, pausing after another successful half circle in which he had allowed his had to merely hover above wall now without holding it exclusively.

"Bastian, watch!"

His words were perhaps more akin to a boy then a man in that moment and yet there was a distinct, almost childish part of him that so found delight in this ridiculous activity. How he adored so learning something new and yet in turn how pleasurable it was to succeed in it, if only marginally, his lips so pulled into that delighted grin as he managed to skate, properly, for several feet for his lover to see before grasping the wall again. He turned once more then, fixing Sebastian with that simper of delight now, one hand reaching up to push his dark hair from his eyes before he so eyed the other side of the rink. Dorian, after all, had always been a distinctly bold creature even if he was assured Sebastian so took his boldness for recklessness more often than not.

"I should like to go from this side to that side all by myself, but I think I shall need you to skate with me and stay where I can see you lest I fall over again and need you to pick me up."

There was a sort of comfort after all, a security, to knowing the vampire with his superior reflexes was close at hand. Dorian too, holding some fear he might somehow be run over were he to tumble near the centre of that rink. A fear he finds lessened at the simple idea Sebastian would be close at hand. He shuffles then, slowly, to face the direction he so required before pushing gently off as his lover had shown him. Dorian, this time, far from any walls to grasp on to, the man perhaps more stiff legged then he should have been, his frame tense as opposed to relax and yet it was but his first true try away from the safety of those supporting walls, Dorian making it to the very centre of the ring before he was required to push again. It was only now, when forced to move his limbs that the man stumbled again, momentarily losing his balance as he struggled to push from his left foot, one had reaching out reflexively to grasp Sebastian's arm and keep himself upright. Momentary surprise so managed to work its way onto his features, the vampire so seeming to have appeared right beside him as if he had perhaps anticipated this very thing might occur, else he had simply been swift enough to react- Dorian grateful all the same as he steadied himself before pushing off again to reach the wall on the other side.

"Ah! But we have succeeded- mostly. Come, I want to try going about the whole ring now, I am sure I can if we are slow."

He waited then, for Sebastian to come to his side once more, the vampire seeming so effortless in his skating still before Dorian released his grip upon the wall again, his gaze narrowed slightly in concentration as he began to steadily, slowly skate around the ring beside his companion. A part of the Monarch so delighting in just this, in so being able to skate beside Sebastian. His words then for the vampire alone.

"You know, Bastian, you are a very good boyfriend."
