Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

every king had a story, of ancient glory, sweetly told

There was a sense of an almost perfect serenity in those moments, even despite the unsteadiness of his heart and the uneven rhythm of his breaths as he tumbled back upon that bed and beside his lover, those ebony blades melting back into the shadows from whence they came. He could hardly help the simper that danced upon his lips, even despite his earlier terror. Dorian far to relieved to find his companion alive and well to truly find himself upset with the man for such a ruse as this. Wretched creature! There were precious few in this world for whom he was truly willing to use those blades and yet, in that all-too dire moment, when the Monarch had truly believed his lover to be in danger- barely a second thought had been given to that rarely used power. It was remarkable, truly, how effortlessly they still responded to his call when he so believed he needed them- even after years of his neglect and disdain for them. Sebastian query as to his readiness to take on two crickets with those blades was met with an evident roll off his eyes, Dorian wholly aware his fear off those insects would never remain secret again and yet there was little distress to be had in Sebastian so becoming aware of it. The Monarch simply settled at his side then in one of those rare moments of simple peace to be shared between the two of them alone in which duty or expectation or schedule did not get in the way. The vampire's body entirely warm from that recently eaten meal and distinctly satisfying as it rested against his own. How he treasured such moments of these! His thoughts drawn from that simple contentment at his lovers request to see those blackened blades. Dorian falling silent for several seconds before his head nodded almost reluctantly at last and yet- did it truly matter if Sebastian might be allowed to see them?

"You may, I fear though I am not fond of them."

It was perhaps a curious sentence to offer and yet the Fae afforded no further mention of it as he sat up just so, one hand held before him as those shadows seemed to erupt from nowhere, curling and flowing and swirling like smoke as they begun to form that shape of that long sword once more. Dorian summoning that power with a deliberate slowness so Sebastian might better see it before he his reached out to grasp the hilt- those shadows seeming to combine into solid form in that moment to leave that striking ebony blade in their wake. The Monarch so allowed his wrist to rotate, affording the vampire a look at that weapon from several angles before holding it out towards him, allowing his lover to take it within his own hand. A small simper tugging at his lips now with some measure of amusement.

"It weighs nearly nothing. It is crafted from shadow after all and I suspect shadow weighs little. Yet it compromises none of its power. I can craft any blade I might desire, even a great-sword that any other man would need two hands to wield for the weight alone I might easily command with one. The blades never dull and I....have seen them slice through steel shields as if they were butter. I suspect there is nothing they cannot cut. At least you need not ever fear I am defenceless."

One finger merely graced that smooth surface then, tracing those finely tempered edges before reaching that pointed peak, his finger lightly trailing over it without so much as pressing down and yet- that single droplet of blood welled readily to the surface as Dorian merely upturned his hand- so displaying the near impossible sharpness of that weapon to his lover then. How long it had been since he had truly looked at those blades! Yet, still, those thoughts of what they had done remained within him. Even now, even after all this time, Dorian working to hurriedly cast aside those thoughts lest they press upon him. The Monarch so unwilling to speak of that to Sebastian even if, perhaps, of all the beings within the world it was surely he whom might have understood. His hand waved simply then, allowing that blade to dissipate back into shadow, his finger held gingerly towards his lover in offer of that single drop of blood. Dorian content to make use of his lovers ability to so effortlessly close even the smallest of wounds and too- prevent that single drop from being otherwise wasted. The Monarch lay back upon that bed then, his head resting against the vampires own before that softly spoken question found its way from his lips and too- that rare admittance that he did not care to sleep alone. Those past two days without his companion had left him restless, fitful ad overly tired. Dorian simply seeking his lovers presence tonight and the delight off a peaceful sleep that surely came with him. The man having become so used to Sebastian's presence in the bed beside him that to be without was distinctly difficult.

The vampires assurance that he surely would stay was met with that wholly warm grin, Dorian oblivious to those words the man had been about to offer, his own thoughts so suddenly inclined to remind him of just that he had so intended to show his lover. He rose easily from the bed, returning but a moment later, struggling with that heavy book from Matteo that Sebastian had so been required to carry home from Italy if only because Dorian was simply incapable of managing it. His form returned to its place beside his companion then, the Fae King searching for just that page he desired as Sebastian so repositioned beside him. It took barely a minute more to find that place, Dorian displaying those names to his lover now, affording Sebastian several moments to examine it for himself before offering that explanation. Fate itself so seeming to have aligned all those years ago in some desire that they might meet. Dorian given to consider once more that for all the fear that had surely come with Sebastian's shift into vampirism ad too- his own years spent in that palace that, perhaps, such things were meant to be. For if they had not occurred then, surely, Sebastian and he would have missed each other once more within this lifetime. His thoughts on that romanticism interrupted only by that press of lips to his cheek that returned that grin to his own, his features softening all the more at Sebastian's assurance he would have found him- no matter the length of time. How glorious such words were to hear! Dorian assured this business of love was perhaps the grandest of all things.

Another chuckle parted his lips at the mention of names and this notion of 'John' being by far the most popular choice, Sebastian's fingers tracing over that list in an almost curious moment of silence then, Dorian frowning softly. The vampire so rarely ever mentioned his family, least of all his mother, the Monarch wholly curious as to whether or not his lover might have further to say upon that topic- that question upon his own lips before Sebastian spoke suddenly once more. His voice so strikingly somber, the Fae momentarily taken aback and yet that sentence was decidedly simple. A gift? One silver eye lifted just so, Dorian wholly curious as to this gift, the man so glancing about as if he might spot some curious package he had failed to note before. His ever potent curiosity tugging at him now.

"Oh? What is it?"
