Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Finals week seemed to be dragging for the young woman. She was far too distracted by the events that had happened as of late and quite honestly, the girl would rather hide in her room than face everything she had been going through. Miya was still in shock from her day with Malia, her friend had practically turned into... well, something else entirely. It was a bit terrifying though she still couldn't help but be curious by the whole shifting thing. The small Asian woman tried not to harass the poor girl too much but she couldn't help but feel those questions bubble up and threaten to fall from her lips.

Groaning loudly, she flops backwards onto her bed, her midnight hair spooled around her head as she stares at the ceiling, the last of the sunlight filtering through her window. Tilting her chocolate gaze to the outside world, she watches the sun finally disappear, casting shadows along her room. She lays there for a while, knowing that Arlo won't be awake for a bit. She had been avoiding him since that encounter, she wasn't exactly afraid of him she just didn't know what to say to the man. It had become awkward with her roommate and she managed to miss him every time he was heading out or she would pick shifts up at the hospital.

Rubbing at her tired eyes, she pushes herself from her bed and yanks open the door, her stomach growling obnoxiously loud. Grimacing, she pads to the kitchen quietly, flicking on the light as she begins to rummage through the fridge. She hadn't gone shopping in several days, Miya had taken to eating her meals elsewhere, especially after their last encounter with the stew. Staring at the contents absentmindedly, she finally reaches into the cooler and retrieves an apple. Slamming the door close, she leans against the counter, tilting her head back to watch the flickering lights. She's just about to raise that red fruit to her lips when the sound of... scrabbling catches her attention. Lurching forward, she drops the apple to the ground as it bounces away and rolls to a stop.

Dashing to the other side of the kitchen, the grasps the broom handle as she hides around the corner, her heart hammering a mile a minute. Was someone breaking in? How much worse could her week actually get?! Trying to calm her breathing, she debates dashing to Arlo's room and locking herself inside until he woke up, but she had demanded that neither of them were allowed to enter each other's rooms. Cursing herself silently, she freezes instantly when there's a quiet thud that echoes from the other room. Eyes wide, she grips the wooden broom handle until her hands hurt. Slowly inching forward, she peers around the corner, carefully, quietly. As her eyes adjust to the dim lighting in the other room, she squints, taking in as much as she can.

Her chocolate gaze travels to the open window, bringing in a chill that gave Miya goosebumps. Ignoring them for the time being, she's about to make a dash towards... well, something, maybe she could frighten off the intruder, when her eyes lock onto a small animal sitting in front of Arlo's room. She can't contain the shriek that emits from her vocal cords, loud enough to wake the dead as she stumbles from the kitchen, eyes wide as she beholds a panda in their apartment. Holding the broom in front of her in a defensive position, her eyes fill with terror before she lurches forward, swatting at the creature with the bristled end, though she completely misses because the woman is far too frightened to get any closer.

"Get out, get out, get out you rabid animal!" Miya squeals at it, her voice taking a higher octave in panic just as she lunges forward to chase the animal.
